There are two files in the movies folder dated 2012, they are b20.avi and cs24.avi. The latter plays OK in Media Player but b20.avi does not play at all. I have just renamed b20.avi and now the game starts.

No good I downloaded from other site with same results. I'll try Marbrien's solution but what are we going to miss??

Thanks Marbrien, I had a problem with the mission starting too, and renaming that movie file fixed it.

Still no good I've renamed the file but it still crashes. I changed it to b201.avi or do I need to rename it differently?? Also I tried to play both of the video files but could not get them to play. Using windows media player.

Opening movie also crashed for me (1st time in ages). Renamed b20.avi to b20.bak & the mission plays.
But I'd also love to know what we're missing.....

You're missing the intro video. You can watch it here.

Just to fill in the missing pieces, I downloaded the game from Southquarter. And in order to get the game to start I renamed b20.avi as b20.bak.

Still can not get it to start I have renamed avi files and also I have deleted them but it still crashes as soon as I click on the difficulty I want? I have gone back to see if other missions will play like mission X and have no problems I do not have the Schwaa pak

OK I have been unzipping the files and renaming then zipping them back up which did not work. I then tried using 7z to rename while it was still zipped and that worked!!
Anyway I can now play Thank you builder!!

P.S. Thanks Marbrien for the video

    Congratulations gaetane on the release!

Yes, I have the crash at the start problem too. I renamed the B20.avi (to prevent it from playing) in my 'MOVIES' folder and it starts OK.

I have no Schwaa or other graphics enhancement packs and using XP.

Both of these files play fine for me using WMP version 11.0 under Windows XP. They also play with KM player. The campaign starts up fine for me and plays the intro video using (presumably) the Indeo codec.

I am one of the testers. It has played fine for me in the last few betas as well as this release version.

It looks to me like a computer or codec issue. I suggest that those who have the problem post information about your computer / WMP version to see if a common cause of failure can be found.

The intro crashed the game for me, but played fine in Windows Media Player, so just watched it there and then added no_briefing to missflag.str to fix it ingame.

Thank you very much for your enthousiast comments

I'm really sorry about the problem with videos for some. During the tests we had no problems with they, so it's really a bad surprise!
