Did anyone make it work in Linux using Lutris? I tried this official installer as well https://lutris.net/games/thief-deadly-shadows/ but when it runs sneaky upgrade nothing happens, it gets stuck somewhere. I'm on Ubuntu 23.04.
In borderless mode NO, it's why it has been introduced
But of course you can set the max frame rate to 60, just to consume less power.

I tried it myself - on Ubuntu 22.04. It went like this:
- Installed Lutris from the repo
- Installed the game (without mods) from GOG via Lutris
- Ran it once to make sure the registry values were set up
- Used Lutris' "run exe inside Wine prefix" function to install the SU 1.1.10 (with all-default options)
- Ran the game from Lutris - crashed
- Opened Bash through Lutris, navigated to the game's System folder and ran "wine T3.exe" - game ran fine
- Restarted Lutris - now the game runs fine from there too
Can't change brightness in borderless mode, is there a fix/something I missed?
There's no fix for that. Brightness is changed using a D3D function which is tied to a hardware feature and which affects the whole display. So in windowed mode it would change brightness for everything on your desktop.
Four years and change since the last release, a new version is finally ready. A couple of new tweaks and some fixes but the vast majority of the work went into Thief 3 Gold - see the separate post linked below.
If things work out, the actual release will happen around 1SeptemberOctober.
__________
This beta (mirror) has the following changes relative to 1.1.10:
The code patch and installer:
- New tweak to auto-equip the blackjack instead of the dagger when you click attack with no weapon selected. (On by default in the MP)
- New 'no idle breathing' tweak
- A new tweaker page for difficulty settings - more fine-grained control
- For new installations of the SU, two quicksaves will now be used. Also, clear-text savegame names by default
- The Options screen multisampling slider now shows "OK" for the settings that are actually valid, and the full range of 16 values is available
- The 'Lower res while using mouselook' option is now off by default for all installs, to allow depth buffer calculations with ReShade >= 4.8.0
- 'Direct load' is now off by default. (Could cause crashes during quickload)
- Press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+End in any order to end the current mission. (Previously, End had to be pressed last)
- Fix for the option to disable gamepad phantom input. (Config key mismatch)
- Fix for the jerky camera when exiting unpaused reading mode
- Fix for the installer almost always replacing a local d3d8.dll. Should now leave a manually installed DLL alone
- Fix for SneakyTweaker going into an endless loop when the Installed Mods folder was empty
- Updated the bundled d3d8to9 DLL to commit a1f11b3e
- It is now possible to set up a self-contained and portable install (but no installer support yet)
Thief 3 Gold:
- Please see this post
Collective Texture Pack:
- New option to disable textures specific to the training mission - for completeness, all textures can now be disabled
The Fonts mod:
- Fix for the tweaker always showing individual font textures as enabled on startup

You're DA MAN!![]()
A portable install will ignore the registry completely but the Options folder is then always in the root of the game install. From the SU readme:
As of 1.1.11, a second options file, Sneaky.ini can be placed in the System folder in the game install,
containing the following:
[Install]
IgnoreSaveGamePath=True
This will make the game ignore also the SaveGamePath registry value and instead expect to find the Options,
SaveGames* and ScreenShots* folders in the root of the game install. Installed mods and FMs can be moved
here too, by changing two lines in SneakyOptions.ini to "InstallPath=..\Installed FMs" and "InstallPath=..\
Installed Mods" respectively. This makes the install portable.
To also move FM archives into the install, Place them in a subfolder, e.g. "FanMissions" and replace a line in
fmsel.ini in the Installed FMs folder with "ArchiveRoot=..\FanMissions"It should be possible to set up the paths from the installerEdit: Not really. But you can provide the absolute paths for easier manual editing later.

Oops, missed the beta link. Thanks for pointing out the new info. I'll add support to AngelLoader for this.
The 1.1.11 release is now up on Mod DB. I realize that the chores associated with doing a proper release are one reason it's been four years since the last one.So to keep that to a minimum I'll just link to the release article there.
New T3 Gold fixes, which happened between the beta and the actual release, are marked in bold on the updated list here. They include the missing patient journals in the Cradle and the First Mate's log and the Tavern conversation in the Docks.
The first post has not been updated - get the files through Mod DB for now.

Getting it, thanks for your continued support!
Thanks a bunch!
