A minor problem: The yellow lightbulb icon denoting new posts in a subforum cannot be double-clicked off to white.

    Thanks for the updates, Al.

Ditto for me. No icons visible in the post/edit message boxes.

Also, I'd prefer seeing the thread titles that turn up when performing a keywords or tag search visible in bold, as before.

EDIT: the coding when using a text color in the edit/post box is currently (COLOR="#FF0000")(/COLOR) instead of (COLOR="Red")(/COLOR). Don't know if this is a bug or intentional.

Is this still a problem? If so, can you let me know which browser and version you're using I'll double-check it.

This is almost certainly a problem with an old stylesheet being used. You should be able to clear your cache to force a reload (or use ctrl+F5 or shift+F5 depending on browser), but I've done a change that should encourage the new styles to be loaded.

Which search options are you using? This might also be a stylesheet issue, but I'd like to make sure I'm doing the same search type.

This is just the way the new editor does it. The #FF0000 style is equivalent to red but specified as three hex values rather than a colour name. If you want to double-check it I've enabled the "WYSIWYG" button in the editor (top left button) that will show you how your text will appear.

Yep, except for author names on the right side which are the usual size.

The replying editor works fine for me, but I haven't tried anything special until now. Inserting U/I/B tags by Ctrl+U/I/B works now. Yay!

    It's fixed now. Thanks.

I'm doing an advance search. I select 'Search titles only' when filling in a word under Keyword(s). No additional options are ticked/selected but it doesn't make any difference when I do so.
I've emptied my browser cache but that didn't made things different.

Al_B, my input box issue is fixed now, it was probably cache-related indeed.

EDIT: Edit works! Yay. By the way, scratch my previous request about the activity stream page. I didn't realise the old New Posts page was still around. I'd prefer if the What's New? button sent you there instead of the much less practical Activity Stream.

Another difference in the search display results I noticed, is that the thread with the most recent post no longer ends up at the top, when performing a keywords or tag search through the Search Multiple Content Types menu. After the upgrade there's no longer a chronological order evident in display results, at least not for me.

The way that menu is set up was changed from the last version - should now be more practical and closer to the old version.

Can you check the sort order you have set under "Additional options" on that page? It might be set to relevance rather than date order. Search in general is something I'm still not happy with as it's one of the slowest areas of the forum (not related to the upgrade - it's been slow for a long time) and is on the list of things we're looking at.

Thanks, Al_B, the light icon function was fixed shortly after I posted.

This appears to be fixed now. Thanks for all you're doing, Al!

    Seconded!

The Quick Navigation drop down menu is still missing its links:

I mentioned this yesterday but I know you have your hands full. Just thought I'd remind you so it didn't get lost in the shuffle.

You're right, it was set to 'relevance'. It confused me as I always used 'Date' before the update (either the standard has been switched or I saved my search preferences with altered options before and lost them due to the upgrade). But no big deal.

Glad the see the e-mail notification for Private Messages is fixed btw

In the "What's New?" page I'm getting "Results 1 to 25 of 26", but there are no links to navigate to the second page and see the 26th item.

Edit: Now I'm getting "Results 1 to 24 of 25". It seems to be a bug in the way that string is displayed. It should be saying "Results 1 to 25 of 25".

It looks like the Quick Navigation drop down menu has been fixed. Nice work!

That does seem strange - I'll look into it but it'll probably be tomorrow now.

It was one of the changes that's been made to the way that multiple options are displayed (very similar to the "forum moderators" and "current users" being broken early on). In theory it could make formatting more flexible in future but for now if you see "Array" displayed elsewhere where there should be a list let me know.

One change which is a minor inconvenience is that I can no longer used a bookmark for Mark Forums Read since it looks like it requires a session token now. I used to have it on my bookmark toolbar so I could just mark all read with one click once I was done reading. Now I have to go to the main forum (which I don't do otherwise), scroll down and click the link - certainly not a big deal, and I almost feel stupid whining about it, but there ya go.

The reply window gives me strange line break issues occasionally, where one piece of text is both in one line and the one underneath. When marking the text, the two instances are marked simultaneously. I know this from working with the Windows notepad but I've never experienced it in an online form.

I suspect they've added this against cross site scripting (XSS) attacks but it does seem a little paranoid. As an alternative, click the "Forum Actions" drop-down menu at the top of any page and choose "Mark Forums Read" from there.

Interesting - I've not seen this one myself. If it happens again, can you try toggling WYSIWYG mode and see if it recovers? It's the top left button on the toolbar above the edit window.

As most things seem back in order now, I've swapped the default search engine that we were using to an alternative (Sphinx if you're interested). This should be a lot faster at finding results than the in-built search but there are likely to be a few differences. I've also added a plugin to enable a couple of more useful search options from the quick search so you don't have to go into Advanced Search to display results as posts or simply search thread titles.

Thanks, that's a bit faster and about as easy as my old bookmark.

    And one more minor issue:

The private message search is new feature that is part of the search engine and I missed that entry box. Should look a bit better now.
