...Again, there are various hammering techniques that produce an array of textural finishes.

The woods don't convince me. The panel lacks depth, and the the parquets don't look like wood for some reason. One thing, nail heads should be iron colored not wood colored, and should never be large. The should look like someone took a nailset and sank them slightly into the floor. I think secret nailing would only be for the poshest of floors.

If you are going for a pegged floor look, where the pegs hide the nails, then the pegs should be a contrasting wood to the floor boards. They can be round or square.

Herringbone can be flush or have depth. It looks like you want yours to be pegged. I wasn't able to find any RL examples of that. Is that how the LGS texture is?

OK. It's not that impressive, but here's a quick version of a hammered metal texture.

It doesn't look like much, but with a material to make it shine it looked pretty cool.

EDIT: I have to say. The more I see this, the more it likes to try inverting itself to bumps instead of dents.

Unfortunately like a lot of modern fake hammered metal sheets, this looks like a sheet of metal was run through a metal press with a hammered metal form rather than actually hammered. You can see what real hammered metal looks like if you look at some hand crafted jewelry. Note how the indentations are shallower and more irregular in shape. This is still decorative hammering, but it was, at least, created by actual hammering. If the the texture is intended as a merely decorative hammered metal, then all bets are off, but if the hammering is intended to be seen as having been manually done and integral to the actual forming of the metal, then more random, less uniform, and less overdone indentations should be considered.

Here is a nice variety of textural finishes on sheet metal, with their associated hammers...

The seems between the boards in all of your wood textures are too uniform, so they're implying laminate flooring. Even a new wood floor will have more variable gaps, crooked boards, and rough edges, and on an old wood floor the effect will be especially pronounced. Boards will never square up quite right, so some edges will touch, others will bow out in the middle and touch at the edges, and some edges and corners will be completely disconnected from the adjacent board.
    Old damaged floor:

Newer (but still kind of old) floor:

New floor (notice there are still cracks):

Cracks will show in a floor the season immediately after new floors are installed due to warping, shrinking, and expanding from changes in humidity and temperature, only laminate floors will still look perfect.

Even a light going over with variable gapping will improve the illusion (this won't tile):

Looking at the originals for the rescor_1\books, the shelves there look like they have warped down a bit from the weight of the books over time, while yours don't. And the original rescor_1\books01a looks to me like it was intended to be two rows deep. A little odd, but that's what it looks like. What do you think?

The color on obj\txt16\drape1 looks washed out. I think in changing the color you lost definition.

I've updated the progress page, and it looks we've reached 17% of the terrain textures updated!

Somehow that sounds low for the amount of work that's been done. The count isn't 100% accurate, though, since it counts each of the frames in an animated texture as a full texture (I might fix that at some point.)

I now have ~300MB of EP2 content collected.

The central gap among the tiles has an unsettling phantom graphical effect. Can that be toned down?

Doesn't this seem too rough for the panelling it is trying to recreate?

Seems much, much smoother to me. Plus it was mostly used for semi-fancy indoors panelling (Ramirez's mansion was full of it in TDP, for instance).

Yeah, I've totally overlooked that detail... I'll see what I can do.

I'm not sure about this. These textures already have quite a lot of fake depth, so increasing this illusion with second row of books seems kinda unreasonable to me...

Apparently MediaFire doesn't allow free users to upload files larger than 200MB. I guess I should find a different free file host to put up alpha crfs.

    I think you've nailed it with core_2\wdpanel.

I'm not so sure about core_2\Tanbrck. Looking at the original, I've always thought of that as an adobe brick texture, and not a stone texture at all. Look at the how regular the shapes are. Even if it is intended to be stone (which I think the name itself tells us it is not) the stones should be cut stone, not broken stone of a uniform height and depth. Yours is more a jumble of fitted broken stones than rows of crudely cut adobe bricks.

It does look good, although it seems a bit more saturated than the original.

Question: Is someone remade these two stained glass already?

I like them a lot, but they are very little and they are certainly not HD!
