Thanks Brethren and a good idea - I'll sticky it for now and see how it goes.
Very handy for reference, thank you.
Thanks, Mike!
Good work!...
Nice job! Thanks.
Brethren, hi-res version concept art: http://darkfate.org/view/simple/images/sketches/thief4
This is a little article about it from the huffington post
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-w...ge&ir=homepage
I don't know about the "focus" concept, but a new version could be good,
You have SOOOOO much catching up to do.
@Moghedian - wow, where ya been? Here's hoping you stick around for a bit...
FYI, that Huffington Post article is identical to the one in the index from the Miami Herald under "Other Misc Articles."
Holy shit, just found this. Your thread is just what we needed!
I was going to come in here [to the T4 forum] and post about RPS' article, because it's an honest preview [from a long time fan such as ourselves here] and one that doesn't just jump to hating the game but using observations rather than pure emotion to make an opinion. However, you've obviously got that covered, but also a ton of other things compiled into one thread. Much appreciated Brethren.
Definitely a great job you're doing keeping track of stuff. Thanks from me too.
Thanks guys, I want to work on a FAQ too as there is quite a bit of info out but it's often hard to sort through it all and find what you're looking for. Late last week it felt like I was adding something new every hour to this thread, but things have (temporarily) subsided. Supposedly there's a gameplay video coming soon though, so I'm sure that will stir things up again.
Here's another one: http://gamefreaks365.com/newsarticle.php?sid=4724
The article is very short and lacks sources, but according to it the devs are working on a classic mode. Maximum damage control or genuine intention? You decide.
They'd already mentioned it within of another previous article amid everything else, like a band-aid fix, so this is perhaps just re-emphasis of it by someone who thought it needed repeating, or just read it in another article and felt it was important for its own article. I doubt the article's a PR thing, and with the examples of how they think the fans want to play and what they think was wrong with the older titles, I doubt Classic Mode will be familiar at all. If they've reduced what they think we want in terms of 1990s nostalgia, then they are wasting valuable dev time on an insulting effort--but maybe this needs its own thread.
Even if it's damage control, it's a welcome bit of news.
Hope this is the right spot but this article discusses some of the risk in rebooting Thief. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/arti...s-Risky-Reboot
The Guardian have a piece. This is part one, part two is coming out Tuesday I think.
http://m.guardian.co.uk/technology/g...eview-part-one
The description of the size of the world and the amount of exploring you can do is what's interesting here.
And the total lack of loading. That can be right though- no loading in game? That'd be some feat.
The final paragraph seems very encouraging to me.

Has this been posted yet? Didn't see it from just glancing at the links.

New to me. I haven't caught up on everything, yet.
Hey, Dan W. Schmidt! Google exploding arrowheads and stop talking about Garrett shooting magic "fireballs". Ever see Rambo? Forget that, here ya go:

Of all the Elemental Crystals, you pick on the one that has the most real-world connection.

So, If there is magic, it won't be immersive? Any high fantasy novels, movies and games are unimmersive because people can't suspend their disbelief, and they can't adapt into that world, they can't feel a character in that world because they lack of imagination. So we should give them high resolution textures and hands.
What an insult!
"If I can't relate to this table, this table is out of proportion, it's going to break - it's like, I'm in a game again."
Couldn't wrap his mind around Little Big World either, evidently.
