My water keeps flip flopping between two different water textures, am I missing an add in somewhere?

    @DRK: time to go .
Sorry Sensut, but that file is included in the zip I downloaded from Google drive.

593 bytes long uncompressed, modification date 26.05.2007

    obj\parchrp.bin

And my downloaded mission file is exile_beingthief2_v1.0.zip 193.964.309 bytes long.

Moving it away from the installed FM!s obj folder solved my crash problem and mission seems to be working fine now.

Try cleaning up your folders as per the sticky (Thief Fan Missions FAQ)
I have had this problem from time to time cleaning up the folders/files did the trick for me.

Check the statue in the middle of the church. You have to get quite close.

The possible bug list seems to have disappeared from the Readme. This is a known problem - http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post2230115 I didn't get it using FMSel, only Darkloader. Otherwise you can, apparently, delete the water texture from the mission file and then you won't get the conflict.

The possible water bug warning is in the info. But as I see there is an another water texture set installed that collides with the one in the mission, so removing the textures only from the mission is not enough I think.

The other bug, the crash was caused by a wrongly sized texture on the clue sheet at the Mech safe. It's strange that the crash happens only on certain systems and not for the testers or me. It will be fixed.

My fault - I decided to replay Being Thief 1 and didn't realise I was looking at the wrong Readme.

I have completed all the goals (Normal), but I wonder - where the key to the door in the basement of a condominium? And how to get to the bank?

    Great Mission!

This is one of the best missions I have ever played. So much fun, well done! Hope there will be more to this mission.

Soldi - The key for the condo basement is inside the locked double doors on a small shelf. You don't need the key to get into there. You can access it from inside the condo. As for the Bank that basement is one of the ways to get there. Check out the sewers underneath the condo.

Hawk - Check the statues in front of the church. There's a symbol on each of them. Then, once you get inside, you'll find more. As for Mechanist HQ, you need to find a large pipe that you can walk on. It's up high, in a grassy area above the pigeon coops, though you have to find another way to actually get there.

You can use Darkloader but you may get water flickering. Have you tried using FMSel? That's the inbuilt loader that comes with NewDark. Did you use Tafferpatcher to install?

Just for info, I don't use tafferpatcher and usually I use darkloader 4.3. Everything worked fine with me, no bug whatsoever.

Sorry, vincentlancon, for not being clearer, my last comment was aimed at Lockpicker but yes, using FMSel should solve the water flicker problem. At least it did for me.

@DrK. I don't know what else you have/haven't installed? Maybe it has something to do with ticking t2water when I installed with Tafferpatcher. I've got 3 different installations but none without t2water in the MODS folder. Perhaps I should experiment a bit. But I didn't have the problem with FMSel. There's info on this over in ThiefGen which I don't really understand.

Personally I don't use any kind of graphic content when I play FMs, so I can play them the way their authors meant them to be.
It's a fresh T2 install with Newdark 1.21 and custom scripts installed manually on it, nothing else.

The problem doesn't come from darkloader imo, but from any kind of graphical pack, like the water mod for example. With Rocksbourg 3 I had a similar problem, the enhancement pack would cause the mission to crash for some reason.

I usually have a vanilla T2, one with basic patches and one with the EP for testing purposes. But since I got a new[er] pc, I don't have an enhancement free version. I'm going to sort that out now. I don't have a clue about the whys, I only know I didn't have the problem, on this occasion, using FMSel with or without the EP. But I have noticed that I'm getting it a lot more than I used to. If you felt like it, the FAQ could do with a clear set of instructions for a basic installation without using Tafferpatcher.

Edit. Unticking the t2water does result in no flickering water with DL. So, another solution. Thanks DrK.

Exile is much bigger than 73 Mb, your download is corrupt. It should be around 180 Mb.
I just noticed the southquarter link leads to a 48 Mb file, there's a problem somewhere.
