    Available Thief Artists

Are you an artist? Would you like to see your work in a Thief fan mission? If so, read on ...

LarryG had the idea to make a thread for artists willing and available to do artwork for FMs in development. We think it's a great idea, so here it is. I'll leave the thread in the general population for awhile and then sticky it if it proves fruitful.

If you are an artist who is willing and available to do work for fan missions, either commissioned or non-commissioned, please post the following information in this thread:

    1. Whether you are willing to do commissioned and/or non-commissioned work.
    2. A link to some samples of your work.
    3. Your contact information (PMs are probably best initially).
    4. When (and for how long) you will be available.

Um, link please. I went to deviantART & got no hits on downwinder. I have no idea what an 8-bit pixel is or why you would want to draw one.

Please update your post with the information requested by Tannar in the initial post to this thread.

    4. When (and for how long) you will be available.

I would also like to know:
1: Experience (name the missions you have created art for, postings of fan art, self taught vs. art school, and any other relevant information)
2: Type of art you are most proficient in (portraiture, human figure, landscape, etc.)

when i get a private message you can see for yourself the style i am ,if i had to say i would say minimalist 8-bit pixelart,i am terrible at making people, but would rather have someone check my port.

What exactly does 'commissioned' and 'non-commissioned' mean in this context? If they are 'willing and able to do work for a thief mission' it is by definition commissioned art surely? (Whether paid or not). Or does this refer to use of pre-existing art for Thief FM purposes?

My two cents is the requirements are quite specific, but the info offered to the artists is not specific enough.

Are also musicians welcome (i like to make background tracks with piano, keyboard...) ?
Where there is singing, sit down quietly :D . Evil people know no songs.

This was Larry's idea and I can't speak of what he might have meant exactly, but yes, I assumed "commissioned" meant "made to order" and "non-commissioned" meant an artist's already existing work.

I'd rather not mix the two. We seem to already have multiple threads of musicians offering to make music for fan missions but no single thread like this one or the voice actors thread. I'll see if I can put together a new thread for music. Give me a day or two.

That's the idea. Although if an artist is only willing to work for wages, then knowing their wage scale would be helpful too.

I'll put myself up for certain requests. *

    - In game paintings (i.e. full scale paintings that will be shrunk down for actual painting objects)... portraits, landscapes, mood pieces etc...
    - title/menu splashes
    - promo/advertising works (to a degree)
    - conceptual work (given the right project)
    - Burricks doing catalogue poses
    - Burricks doing catalogue poses with Victoria
    - Burricks doing...

    ahem

    Check my Sketch-blog in general
or see here for something fairly specific (there's more Thiefy stuff, but it's further back).

    * The work is for free, so I expect a respectful understanding with regards to turn around time (keeping a roof over my head comes first), and also require a project to be at a reasonable stage of completion (70% seems fair (you want a portrait of the main villain to hang in the lobby, but you haven't even built the lobby yet? Take a walk!)), unless I am familiar with the individual or his/her work, or have other reasons to believe the project is not going to be a waste of my time. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's the reality.

What a joy to have you back with us, gummie! If I hadn't already gotten all the custom portraits for my big campaign done, I'd certainly be asking you.

Hi guys, hope you are all well. It's nice to be under this roof again. I see someone's made off with my custom made shezlong in my absence. *hmph*

Ah, never mind. It was inevitable someone would take a shine to it. As long as the Grand Marnier tap is still flowing I'll be fine.

Err... guys... This is not even funny!

Can't a fella' go on a walkabout these days without the whole system collapsing?!

Seriously though, it's nice to be among you rascals again.

Edit: Sorry, but I forgot to mention that I've already been suckered into a project, and it's first come, first served. I'll still consider further requests, but you're better off looking elsewhere if you want to release soon. Cheers.
