Yup. Haven't been that excited since Planescape Torment KS. This could be the birth of a LGS 2.0 that we're witnessing here.
I just received email notification about the upcoming Kickstarter campaign. This is great news and hopefully we will soon see some tangible details of their plans for the game.
Yup. Haven't been that excited since Planescape Torment KS. This could be the birth of a LGS 2.0 that we're witnessing here.
Here it is: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...orld-ascendant
Day 1 and they already have ~$76K pledged.
At least one of the devs discussing it here: http://www.quartertothree.com/game-t...-Looking-Glass
I've never backed anything on Kickstarter before... I feel so naive. So I decided if I was gonna do it, I'd go big.![]()
I pledged. Campaign's progressing nicely. Already at 25%!
Pledged as well.
Pledged. Hope they make it.
Underworld Builder Toolkit at $1,050,000. Damn right I pledged!
Backed, and for far more than what I have ever spent on kickstarter before. I really hope that they reach the first three stretch goals such as the new areas and the return of the lizardmen race. Not too fussed about coop to be honest, but keeping an open mind.
There are at least a couple of others listed on their team page.

Take my money, TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!![]()
Just shy of 3rd of the way through after two days. This is happening, people! \/
I really hope they plan on switching to Unity 5 as soon as it becomes available.
Damn. It's gone up nearly $50,000 since I checked it earlier today. I hope they can keep that up long enough to reach a cool million.
I have tried and failed to figure out which pledge level gets you a straight-up copy of the game. I feel like it's lurking somewhere between discounted copy and boxed copy.
They sent out an email to all backers, trying to clarify the rewards for the various pledge levels, because they realized it was worded poorly:
Finally, I wanted to acknowledge that some of the descriptions we have of rewards and the like on the Kickstarter page could be written more clearly. For instance, a number of people asked if they get the full digital copy of the game at the $20 and $25 dollar pledge tiers? Absolutely yes! The use of “discounted” on these tiers was just to try to say that the full retail price of the game will be higher than these pledge tiers, since we want to offer our Kickstarter backers the game at discount.
Am I missing something, or are the $20 and $25 tiers identical?
The $20 tier is the limited quantity early-adopter discount version of the $25 tier.
It's pretty common to tempt people to pledge sooner rather than later, by offering a strictly-limited discount of this sort.
ZB: All tiers of $20 or more get you a copy of the game.
No, they're exactly the same. The only difference is the $20 tier is limited. I guess the big bonus there is that you save $5...while supplies last.
If you want to go for the best bang for the buck option, it'd be the $35 tier. You get everything listed above, plus early access to the beta, which'll be when the game starts becoming truly playable.
I don't see the appeal of beta access. Hooray, you get to ruin your first impression of the game?
I feel about the same. I'm willing to jump in on a late beta, but I'll otherwise stay away until then for that very reason.
Though I could imagine "being a part of the process" of what's basically the making of a brand new LGS game would be appealing to a lot of people here.
Me included. I spent $50 to get alpha access. I think it'll be interesting to see the game as it develops. Plus hopefully I'll be able to offer some input on the forums for the devs.
The idea of paying extra to be a tester confused me from the first time I encountered it, and all the more so given the evident popularity of the scheme. I certainly don't blame the developers for taking advantage of the fact that people are keen to do it, though.
I elected to give them more than the $20 needed for the game itself, but for me there wasn't anything else of interest in the rewards until you hit the $75 and $100 tiers, which feels like quite the jump.
