Cool, thank you and the rest of the team for your work on this project.

I bought SS1 on GOG.com and aim to replay it soon, for the first time with mouselook, followed by SS2 with the Community Patch.

Is that sound at 29 seconds into the trailer something from the original game? It sounds suspiciously like part of the intro to "I Love Love You".

They stole it from the same place I did-- the Macross Plus soundtrack.

Updated the trailer so the ending doesn't suck now.

Will this mod be compatible with fan missions?

it isn't incompatible. that means (as FMs use their own mission and gamesys files) the benefit of having SCP activated while playing FMs is extremely small - a few fixed objects and textures, to be precise.

In other words, that question doesn't even make sense.

I finally managed to find my login credentials for sshock2.com, and posted a news item about it. It's always nice to get an update on the site, at least to let people know it's not dead yet

These are exciting news. Thank you guys so much for your hard work!

So basically SHTUP mutated into this? It's been like 9 years since the last version.

nope - SCP is a continuation of ADaoB. SHTUP mutated into SHTUP-ND. sharing a symbiotic relationship with SCP (SHTUP-ND will look best when used with SCP, and SCP will look best when used with SHTUP-ND), it's also available in the SCP topic.

also, a lot of things have changed quite recently (because of NewDark and stuff), so if your SS2 modding knowledge is not up to date, you should probably check the newbie modding guide.

Good timing...was thinking of another play-through soon.

You might want to update the OP.

I haven't played SS2 in ages... Once the patch is out of beta, I think this'll be a good opportunity to remedy that.

You know "beta" is just an arbitrary label, right? We could just as well have called this release "3.0".

Yeah, but I'm currently playing other games that I'll be busy with for a while, so an arbitrary wait actually comes in handy.

I think you'll be waiting a long time if you want to wait for SCP to lose the "beta" moniker.

was actually supposed to lose it now, but then squirrel happened. anyway, beta4.

Awesome, thank you! It'll take me a while to finish the current game I'm playing (Red Dead Redemption 1) but I might do a replay of SS2 after that.
