Any day is a TTLG coop day! (was: TTLG coop Saturdays)

I hope the mods aren't too annoyed if I post this thread instead of using dethtoll's Multiplayer Meetup one, but the latter seems to be pretty dead.

As some of you know, we've been doing TTLG coop meetups for a while now, mainly playing GTA Online, but we've also started running Arma 2/Operation Arrowhead sessions, alternating between the two games. These generally take place on Saturdays at 4-6pm UK time, and I've been using a Steam group to coordinate things loosely:

    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ArmaTTLG

I'm mainly hoping to use this thread a) to advertise the coop meetups and b) let people know what's on the menu for the upcoming weekend:

On Saturday 6 August we'll most likely be playing GTA Online.

Anyone's welcome - including cool people from outside TTLG (pfft... as if those existed!). Feel free to join the Steam group, and don't forget to bring a headset!

P.S.: The TTLG crew on the Rockstar Social Club is called ThruTheLookingGlass. Best to join the crew, since it makes joining up in game much easier. (It still messes up, but that's GTA Online for you.)
P.P.S.: If you're interested in the Arma 2/Operation Arrowhead sessions, best to post here or drop me a PM. Cheers!

Yes this is fine. I'm not overly fond of megathreads but they seem inevitable sometimes.

I'm hoping I might manage to join one of these days...

Since the megathread's last post was ~2 years ago, maybe we should un-sticky it?

This is the weekly(ish) reminder that we're having a TTLG coop session tomorrow

    Date: Saturday, 6 August
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: GTA V

    Things to note:
    • I'll start an invite-only session. If you're not a friend on the Rockstar Social Club and/or part of the ThruTheLookingGlass crew, I can't invite you.
    • Anyone who's joined the session can invite others. Feel free to bring friends and people from other crews!
    • If I see anyone from my friends list joining, I'll drop them an invite. If I don't, send me a message - ideally via Steam, since the R*SC message system is shit.
    • Ideally bring a headset! Note that depending on your settings you might only hear voice chat from friends and crew members. Especially if others join, you may want to change your settings temporarily.

And that's it! Hoping to see some TTLGers joining tomorrow. See you in Los Santos!

Thanks to henke, Malf and Jeshibu for a fun session! Rockstar have added some game modes, so it's definitely worth revisiting. I'm always up for more Capture the Tractor.

I'm probably not around next Saturday, but I'll probably run an Arma session in two weeks. More details to follow closer to the date.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it today but hopefully will be able to join in another session before too long.

After a week's break, we're back this coming Saturday:

    Date: Saturday, 20 August
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: Arma 2/Operation Arrowhead

    Things to note:
    • Ideally bring a headset! We are using Teamspeak 3 to communicate in the game.
    • While we're not using any compulsory mods, client-side quality-of-life mods like sthud are allowed.
    • Anyone's welcome to join, absolute beginners as well as old hands. Since Arma is a bit fickle, perhaps check out the instructions on the Steam group first or send me a PM.

I'll be online a bit before 4pm to set up the server and check who's on Steam and up for some milsim fun. Hoping to see you there!

P.S.: If everything goes well, I'll be unveiling my first coop mission. Don't miss it (because, most likely, there'll be bugs turning the mission into a Lynchian nightmare)!

Thanks to henke and surprise guest Neb for a cool session of Arma 2 - including the premiere of my first MP mission. It still needs some work, but by and large it seems to work and be fun... although I'll still have to learn to be a better commanding officer and less suicidal. Also, I think we'll have to take that insubordinate corpsman behind the shed and have him shot. Won't even get into choppers, the jerk!

Edit: Also, next Saturday (27/8) will probably be a GTA Online Saturday, if that's okay for folks.

The plan for this coming Saturday is as follows:

    Date: Saturday, 27 August
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: GTA V

    Things to note:
    • I'll start an invite-only session. If you're not a friend on the Rockstar Social Club and/or part of the ThruTheLookingGlass crew, I can't invite you.
    • Anyone who's joined the session can invite others. Feel free to bring friends and people from other crews! The more people there are, the more game modes are possible and fun.

I'll be online a bit before 4pm to see if any of the Steam TTLG group members are around. Hoping to see you there!

P.S.: Depending on who's around, what they feel like and what they've got installed, we can also decide on a different game.

Always up for more GTA V (if I'm around), but we should totally try out some Elite Dangerous as well. Not sure how well that actually works as a co-op game, but it'd be fun to try.

Thanks to henke, Jeshibu and Malf for a fun session of getting shot, evading the cops and crashing helicopters. Next Saturday: Arma, most likely. Watch this space!

This Arma game I think I could get into.

By coop mission you mean a team of humans vs bots?

Saturday afternoon's all right for fighting commie bastards (or American invaders?):

    Date: Saturday, 3 September
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: Arma 2/Operation Arrowhead

    Things to note:
    • Bring a headset! We are using Teamspeak 3 to communicate in the game.
    • While we're not using any compulsory mods, client-side quality-of-life mods like sthud are allowed.

P.S.: If anyone new is thinking of joining, could you let me know beforehand? I always try to select a couple of missions for more or less the right number of players.

I will be trying, but I am not too hopeful about the lag. Anyway worth a shot.

Fingers crossed! (I've always wanted to see how hard it is to shoot an Australian warping all over the map due to a wonky connection... )

Thanks for a fun, if bloody, Arma session with Jeshibu, Malf and henke, including: blowing up the top of a radar building with grenades because this one guy didn't want to stick his head up and get sniped, Jesh turning creepy ("Sir? Sir? Sir? Sir?") after a non-lethal bullet to the head, and fist-bumps in helicopters. Well, technically, heli-bumps. Also known as mid-air collisions.

Next week (most likely): GTA V. Bring your snacks!

Sorry to hear that... Anyway, I'll keep posting here to say when the sessions take place, so whenever you feel like giving it another try.

Maybe we could try a quick game of arma when we are both online just to see if it works at all?

Good luck we bumped into each other online! If that short test is anything to go by, it works okay. Might be different with more players and AI, but for now I think it's worth a try.

Since the latest "Red Dead Redemption for PC!!!" rumour hasn't panned out, let's play GTA V instead while making clippity-clop sounds.

    Date: Saturday, 10 September
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: GTA V

    Things to note:
    • I'll start an invite-only session. If you're not a friend on the Rockstar Social Club and/or part of the ThruTheLookingGlass crew, I can't invite you.

I'll be online a bit before 4pm to see if any of the Steam TTLG group members are around. Hoping to see you there!

P.S.: I won't be around the two following Saturdays, so if anyone else wants to plan a session, please go ahead! My tentative plan for the Saturday after (1 October) is a game of Arma 2/Operation Arrowhead.
