Jolly good wheeze that guys, and good to have another TTLGer along scumble!
I swear you're obsessed with my rear end though...
I went in and did a mission to remind myself how to get in a car and shoot things. I think it's the first Lamaar mission with a team, and one git shot me in the head just afterwards - probably some Russian kid. The servers I get on seem to be full of Russians...
I created a female character and realised I was wearing ridiculous clothes so got some new ones.
I'm on social club as raenur, and apparently already in the TTLG crew, so that helps. I'd just forgotten.

Indeed, GTA Online is more fun with the TTLG crew - no foul mouthed 10-year-olds to deal with. I got enough cash to buy a really bad apartment!
I will be focused on your rear end if you happen to be in front, which is the wrong place for you to be...
It was fun returning to GTA V for some online shenanigans, and it was cool meeting and playing with you, scumble. While we did play the game to death back in the day, it's definitely a game I don't mind returning to every now and then, and especially the heists are (mostly) well worth it. Is Malf's rear end, though? I'll have to leave that up to everyone to decide for themselves.
Well you did seem to enjoy getting back into it after a long break. I'll have a go with Arma if I can line up with one of your sessions.
Any time you want to join and can make the Saturday afternoon slot, you'll be very welcome. We are using a couple of mods, but they're mentioned in the other thread and linked to on Steam.
Anyway, since the date we'd originally planned for the next session has changed, here are the details:
After that, there'll be an Arma game on Saturday 28 October and then nothing until December, as I'll be away for a few weeks.I hope that's okay for everyone and we'll all have recovered from the meat grinder by then. As always, I'll send around reminders on Steam. The next Arma 3 coop session:
Date: Sat, 7 October 2017
Time: 4-6pm UK time
As always, I'll be online a bit before 4pm to set up the server and check who's on Steam. I'll try to launch the server with a lobby mission 15 minutes before the session starts, and I'll post the IP and password on the Steam group, under the Events tab.
Is anyone around tomorrow? Quick check...
Yeah! Probably! Might go see Blade Runner with some friends, but if not, I'm around.
Do we have anything scheduled? I'd gladly do some more GTA Online.
Well henke, Thirith is the one organised enough to devise a schedule. It looks like I might be able to join the Arma session on the 28th actually...
I planned to see my sister some time this afternoon so wouldn't be online at 2pm, which seems to be the usual slot.
Perhaps an hour or so of GTA is possible in the evening? I guess it needs more than two of us.
I'm around (as always), but I take it Jesh is still in Japan?
I only got home about now, but I hope you had some good coop times.
Great to hear that you might join the next Arma session, scumble! Make sure to check out the mods; they're easy to install via the Steam workshop, but TFAR (the radio mod) takes a bit of extra setup. Nothing major; if you run into any problems, I'm happy to help.
As far as this Saturday is concerned: henke, Malf, Jeshibu - are we heading into outer space to attempt to finish that Bridge Crew mission? Or are other VR shenanigans on the menu?
Aye aye, captain!
Standing by to invert main deflector tachyon polarity.
*Jeshibu receives the "Technobabble it so." achievement*
Good trekking session tonight. We beat the main campaign and then decided to try our hand at some of the extra missions in the original Enterprise. The game warned us that the Enterprise was for "Advanced Players Only", once we were sitting at our stations we understood what that meant.
I've only seen a few episodes of the original series, but I really appreciate how true they've stayed to the horribly clunky interface of the original Enterprise.
I know I've been harping on about it a bit recently, but would any of the regulars be interested in downloading the free trial of The Division to see how they get on with it? I think it could become a great regular alternative game for our co-op sessions, especially as it's pretty easy to reach top level and that there's decent procedural mission generation. Plus, the gunplay's fab and the relatively fluid class system encourages co-op.
I'll gladly check it out, but I'm not around all that often for the next few weeks, so I'd probably only do so come mid-December. Are group sizes fixed? Could we play with fewer than four, and is it possible for teams of more than four people to play together?
You can definitely play with fewer, but it maxes out at four. I regularly play the Underground procedural levels single player, but the difficulty is very customisable and I believe it scales with player numbers too. There's lovely little modifiers you unlock in the Underground as your Underground level goes up, such as having to complete the level without a map, or re-loading meaning you lose the bullets in the mag. The more of these you have enabled, the harder it gets, but the more rewards you get.
Yeah I'd be up for giving The Division a go. Don't know if I can be bothered with a demo though. I'm betting it'll be 15 bucks when the Steam Halloween Sale starts on Monday, will pick it up then.
A quick reminder:
You can find more information here: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148063The next Arma 3 coop session:
Date: Sat, 28 October 2017
Time: 4-6pm UK time
So The Division isn't on sale on Steam, but it is on Uplay. Standard Edition is £16.00, while Gold is £30. I think the 20% for 100 points works too. Personally, I'd recommend the Gold edition, as that includes Underground, but I understand if people don't want to splooge that much. Or, you could go for Standard and just buy Underground as DLC for £5.99.
I'm still not sure I can drop £30 on Arma. I'm trying not to let gaming expenditures get out of hand. Although I'd like to join a co-op session nevertheless... argh
I can grok that. I picked it up for £14.99 last November. At that price, it was a steal.
BTW, Helldivers is free to play for the weekend on Steam. I own it already, but haven't played it 'cos I was waiting for co-op buddies to play with. But I'd be more than happy to play this weekend. My visitors aren't turning up this week (probably next), so I'll make the ARMA3 sesson and have time available for some Division / Helldivers too!
..although literally as I was posting this, my work colleague handed me a package that just arrived for me. Super Mario Odyssey.
TOO MANY GAMES.
For what it’s worth, scumble, there are only two or three more Arma sessions before Christmas, at which point I expect there’ll be a sale.
Malf, with respect to The Division: would the idea be that we all start the game together or that we can do coop regardless of where each of us is in terms of story and level?
