I'm up for some, dunno about He Is Risen, or if he is in fact in a position to rise this weekend, though.

Anyone around for some coop today, either at 3pm or 4pm UK time? I think I should be around for an hour or two - though I'm tired, disoriented and likely to shoot people in the back even though they're on my side.

Yeah I'm up for something. Maybe GTA or Wildlands?

    Either is fine. What time?

Either one. Let's check in at the early time and see who's around.

Just finished a two-player session of The Blackout Club with Neb. The game's in Early Access, and it shows in various ways; it's kinda janky and mission design still needs a lot of polish. Also, the game relies a bit too much on mission markers, when the game could communicate where things are in more interesting ways. At the same time, it's cool to see more stealthy gameplay in a coop game, and even with all the jankiness the game is very atmospheric. There is also an interesting game mechanic at play where you need to close your eyes to see one particular opponent, but then you don't see anything else.

Not sure when I'll next have some time to play this (perhaps before an Arma session?), but it'd be cool to try it out with more people. Ideally we'd have to tweak the voice chat, though; I barely heard Neb while apparently I was very, very loud at his end. It definitely added to the mounting tension.

P.S.: Just after finishing, my computer crashed, telling me on reboot that my CPU was overheating. Not sure whether to blame the game, but it's not something I've had happen before.

Can't make it today, have something going on today that requires most of my attention.

Sending out the coop signal: would any of the Saturday gang be up for an hour or two of Minecraft this coming Saturday at the usual Arma time? I have to say that I've not played more than one or two hours, so I don't know anything about collaborative play, nor am I particularly good at the game (I can make swords, shovels and picks, but that's about it), but it might be fun to meet in-game and spend some time faffing about.

Sure why not. The only one I spent time on was deth's server. A lot of that was everyone building their own houses & towns, as it was long term.
But a good part of it was going adventuring together in a canyon or down in caves or whatever they have going these days and screwing around.
That's the kind of thing we can do for something like this.

Do you guys have the Windows 10 version or the Java one? (I have the former.) Apparently there’s no crossplay between the two versions.

I have the java version, so I guess that counts me out.

If you have the Java, you should be able to get the Windows 10 version for free.

Thanks, bob_doe_nz, great to hear that! It'd be sad if someone wanted to join in but couldn't because of incompatible versions.

I'm not sure if Minecraft has built-in voice chat, but if not, perhaps we can use Malf's Mumble server. Malf, if you're reading this, are you in for some mining and crafting on Saturday, and can we use your server to chat? (Will try to send a Steam PM as well when I get around to it.)

What time is the usual Arma time? I might have some spare time in between Star Wars Concerts.

We usually meet at 3pm UK time. That would probably be very early in the morning at your end, right?

Yeah I lost my old account. I mean it's still there. When I tried to re-register under the same name it said it already exists. But I'm not allowed to take it. I even have the same email I registered it under and I know the password. But they're requiring I transfer the account to the new system or something, and for that they're requiring I give them the original receipt number, which screw that. I bought it aaaages ago. I wanted to play with my nephews so I just bought it again. Lame.

Edit: bob_doe_nz could vouch for my old account because he was my neighbor in dethland.

Silly question: is there actually free multiplayer in Minecraft Win 10? I’ve not tried it myself, but everything I’ve found seems to point towards Realms and subscriptions. It’s also not always very clear which version of Minecraft the info I found referred to.

You can create a new world. The person who creates it can set up to 7 friends via XBLive to join using multiplayer settings.

I am actually considering getting this for the Switch, as my son would like it as well, apparently its the Bedrock edition which has crossplay with xbox and win10 versions, so I assume it would enable me to play with you guys?

A quick Google search suggests that this is indeed the case. The only thing is that we’ll probably try to do voice chat via Mumble, so you’d need to run that one on another device.
