Anyone else who'd be up for some Risk of Rain, e.g. on Saturday 6 August? Apparently up to ten players can coop - I've not played it with others myself and can barely imagine the resulting chaos, but it might be fun.

Not sure now who's around on Saturday and whether Risk of Rain would be an option for coop fun. Alternatively: dema, will you be around, and would you also be up for some Human Fall Flat? It'd be a shame if there was a mismatch between the people who are up for some coop and the games they'd be willing/able to play.

I looked up Risk of Rain on Steam and apparently I had it set to IGNORE! Whoa, guess I'm really not into this game. So naaah.

But I would be up for Human Fall Flat or GTA Online oorrrrr this thing that just came out on Game Pass today:

Any of those sound okay to me. Who else is around?

Is anyone around on Saturday 27 August? I'm busy this weekend, but I wouldn't mind some quality coop the weekend after.

If anyone's around: which game(s) should we go for? Will we be falling flat, like usually, or will we look into possible alternatives?

If I'm around, yeah I'll play something.

Dunno if the coop crowd here would be interested in a tactical, RPG-lite boardgame adaptation, but the Epic Store currently offers Gloomhaven for free. I'm playing the Gloomhaven spin-off Jaws of the Lion with my wife in its boardgame version, and it's good fun. Would anyone here be interested in giving the digital version of the game a spin some time soon, seeing how it's free?

P.S.: Thanks a lot to demagogue for the heads-up in the freebies thread!

We might be trying out Gloomhaven this Saturday, if anyone would like to join the four-player coop. (Jeshibu and Sulphur have already indicated that they might be around.) My suggestion would be to meet at 3pm UK time. I don't know if the game has a mandatory tutorial that people have to play; if anyone is interested and would like to join, please make sure to check beforehand, so we don't lose an hour to people doing the tutorial.

And apart from Gloomhaven (which I'm hoping to be fun in coop): has anyone here tried out the honey-i-shrunk-the-players game Grounded, which apparently is available on Game Pass? Would that be something to try out in coop at some point, now that it's out of Early Access?

So Gloomhaven was "fun", in an "I like shaving with an industrial sander" kinda way
Obscure rules, obtuse interface, and a difficulty "curve" that's more a "cliff".

I mean, it looked and sounded pretty, but ye gods, that's a mean game.

The tutorials help quite a bit with the rules, but you don't design a first encounter like that.

Would anyone be up for some coop this coming Saturday, say, 3pm UK time? And what games?

    Yes!

Perhaps something from the game pass? Sea of Thieves? Valheim? Sniper Elite 5, which apparently supports up to 4 player co-op?

btw just noticed I was subsribed to 13€ gamepass ultimate when there's a perfectly fine PC game pass option for 10€ sitting right there.

Of those, Sniper Elite 5 would appeal most to me, though I'd be up for any of them. Ideally we'd decide on one up front, mind you, since at present I've just got SE5 installed.

I enjoyed today's coop game of Sniper Elite 5 with henke. I don't think I'd love this game on my own, but in coop it allow both for more orderly tactics and for chaotic shenanigans. Definitely curious to find out how it plays with three or four players.

Unexpectedly, I'd be around for some more Sniper Elite 5 this Saturday (12 Nov), though I'm unavailable the two following Saturdays. Would anyone be up for another round of shooting Natsees in the nuts on Saturday, 3pm UK time?

I knew it! I always had misgivings about henke and how he always beat me in games.

'Tis true, I tell thee! Me, Malf and henke were playing Quake 3 DM about a year ago. I was minding my own business when suddenly henke just appeared around the corner and killed me with a few well-placed rockets!!! This happened maybe once or 20 times or so. Although now that I think about it, it was probably just me that sucked at Quake...

...which leads me to my next point: Quake!
Malf, henke and anybody else in or near Europe, you wouldn't happen to be up for some well-placed rocketry either this weekend or the next?

If we could build a tunnel for optical fibre through the Earth's core, we could get latencies between continents down to ~50ms or less. On that day I will extend the invitation to one and all, but today, please know that I don't mean to be rude. It's not my fault. I blame the speed of light.

Yeah why not! Are we Steam friends? I'm Henke on there, if you can find me.

I actually played some Quake MP just a few weeks back when we had a office lan party. If we could get an even number of players we should do some team deathmatch, which was surprisingly fun.

I'll add you on Steam, just a sec. I'm EngineArtist there, although the account name is mvi_. I found a Steam profile that says Henke, Henrik, Finland, and in the image there's a guy with a red/white shirt and sunglasses. Is this the correct profile?

I can ask a friend of mine who plays Quake, and if Malf also joins then that's four. I run a Quake1 server at cargobay5.com:28501.
