I don't know about you guys, but I feel like shooting some mans on Saturday.

    Date: Saturday, 12 November
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: Arma 2/Operation Arrowhead

    Things to note:
    • Bring a headset! We are using Teamspeak 3 to communicate in the game.
    • While we're not using any compulsory mods, client-side quality-of-life mods like sthud are allowed.
    • Anyone's welcome to join, absolute beginners as well as old hands. Since Arma is a bit fickle, perhaps check out the instructions on the Steam group first or send me a PM.

I'll be online a bit before 4pm to set up the server and check who's on Steam. Hoping to see you there!

Fun Arma session with henke and Malf. Some absolutely gruelling missions - and some that simply weren't designed to be played with three real people and the rest of the slots taken up by AI. Still, always fun to get killed in Chernarus or Takistan with my TTLG mates!

Sorry I missed it, had a long day and ended up falling asleep. Next time!

No worries! We'll probably return to Arma in two weeks.

Two very quick updates on my mission, which didn't exactly work properly some of the time: I've found out what caused that reinforcements menu to pop up after respawn, and the problem should be solved. Also, I've added some extra RPG ammo to the helicopters and Humvees, so there's less of a risk of us wasting our grenades and then having nothing to destroy the armoured vehicles with.

Also, Malf, you commented on the positional audio thing. The mod in question is called ACRE, and it's pretty cool, offering great positional audio for local chat on the one hand (which makes it much easier to know, acoustically, where your team mates are) and radio functionality on the other. I like the mod a lot; it adds tactical options, but for me it's mainly an immersion thing. It can be tricky to get to work, though, so while I might suggest we use it at a later date, I don't want to scare people off just yet.

I have ACEX installed, which I have found really good compared to the vanilla sounds.

Let's see if we can drag henke away from San Francisco to equally sunny but much more violent (and that's just us trying to cross the road!) Los Santos!

    Date: Saturday, 19 November
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: GTA V

    Things to note:
    • I'll start an invite-only session. If you're not a friend on the Rockstar Social Club and/or part of the ThruTheLookingGlass crew, I can't invite you.
    • Anyone who's joined the session can invite others. Feel free to bring friends and people from other crews! The more people there are, the more game modes are possible and fun.
    • If I see anyone from my friends list joining, I'll drop them an invite. If I don't, send me a message - ideally via Steam, since the R*SC message system is shit.
    • Ideally bring a headset! Note that depending on your settings you might only hear voice chat from friends and crew members. Especially if others join, you may want to change your settings temporarily.

I'll be online a bit before 4pm to see if any of the Steam TTLG group members are around. Hoping to see you there!

Bugger! I'd like to try it... but...

    • A: I don't have the game (I don't want to pay $90 NZ. $60 on special)
    • B: Pings would be sooo bad
    • C: It's going to be at 4am to 6pm here...

Yeah, it's a shame that the time slot doesn't work particularly well for those in the US and those in Australasia (is that the right term?). We've also got Arma 2/Operation Arrowhead sessions; PigLick sometimes joins for those, and surprisingly, ping isn't much of an issue. That would still leave point C, though... If you ever find that you can't sleep on a Saturday morning, you'd definitely be most welcome to join!

On a different note: I'd be curious to try out Project Argo at some point, Bohemia's Arma 3-based experiment. It's not coop, but it's free and might still be fun for small groups. If any of the regular Saturday crowd are interested, here's the link: https://store.bistudio.com/products/project-argo

Also, if we want to supplement our roaring rampage of rampant crime this Saturday with some cold-as-ice skiing, snowboarding etc., perhaps we could check out the Steep public beta. (Henke, do I remember correctly that you've been playing the non-public beta? Can the beta be played with friends?)

Thanks to Malf, Jeshibu and henke for a fun GTA session - which ended with some Tron-inspired mayhem on a highrise. Definitely one of the better recent additions to GTA Online.

Next week, we return to Chernarus and Takistan. Hoping for a good turnout!

Calling on the Finnish-Australian-UK coalition (and anyone else who has time and feels like joining in) to come to Switzerland's aid in Chernarus and Takistan! I promise chocolate medals to everyone injured in the line of duty. (If you die horribly, the chocolate will go to your next of kin.)

Thanks to henke, Malf and Al_B for a fun session of Arma. We mostly got massacred, and our attempt to play the campaign in coop started going downhill the moment we stopped faffing about on the aircraft carrier (actually, it was mainly the game bugging out that screwed us), but we ended on a successful mission liberating a radio from a little village on Utes. Finally we can get ourselves some of that sweet, sweet Radio 4 action!

I'm not around next week myself, but I'll organise another session on Saturday, 10 December at the usual time. We'll decide what game to play based on who can make it. Hoping to see some of you for some pre-Christmas coop shootery!

Christmas is almost(ish) upon us, but since I'll be back from a short vacation this weekend I'm hoping to get together the band for the last TTLG coop,Saturday of the year.

    Date: Saturday, 10 December
    Time: 4-6pm UK time
    Game: ???

My suggestion would be to tentatively plan for an hour of Arma followed by an hour of GTA, in the hope that our Australian contingent makes it for some militaristic pre-Christmas cheer. Sound okay?

Thanks to henke, Jeshibu, Malf and PigLick for an enjoyable session of Arma. We actually won... was it three entire missions? And one of them after about five minutes of shooting people. We must be improving.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who's joined these coop sessions in 2016. We're taking a bit of a break, but TTLG coop Saturdays should be back in January. See you then!

Was fun the few times I managed to make it on. Shame my general availability has been so slim of late.

Well, we'll always be there waiting for you, with open arms and loaded AK-74s.

Or, in henke's case, possibly Star Spangled Banner fireworks.

Ho ho ho! I hope everything's having a great time and isn't in a depressed, wintry funk.

Since we're taking a couple of weeks off from TTLG coop Saturdays, I wanted to ask a couple of questions about the games we're playing and whether they're still okay. I've put them here on our Steam group:

    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Arm...2786911203432/

I'm sure there'd also be other topics that might be of interest; please feel free to add them there!

I'm always up for more GTA V. Arma 2 is also good, tho I'm less into it than GTA.

New games I'd be up for co-opping:
Zombie Army Trilogy - I've had this in my library for a while now, unplayed. Could be good! I see Jesh, Sulphur and faetal also have it.
DOOM - Deathmatch? I see there are also snapmap-made co-op levels. Not sure how good these are, but might be fun trying out.
Payday 2 - this is supposed to be good.

Assuming this requires less time commitment than GTA or Arma, I may even be able to join in!

It does require less of a time commitment, it's a pretty easy game to drop in and out of. I had so much lag most of the time, though, I invariably found myself close enough to the ravening hordes to engage in a slapfight. As you may imagine, this did not go well.

Should be less of a problem for folks in Europe, of course.
