Eventually getting dgVoodoo working should sort this out too. But in case you have to give up on dgVoodoo/ReShade, here's a beta which should make it work with D3D8. It fixes vsync too. The installer is an Update, so install over the current version, keeping the UTP and options. You'll get a "D3D8 window shim disabled" message in the log when the fix is active.

It first asks whether to uninstall the current VU version - click Yes. Then it asks whether to keep installed mods (the UTP), and current options. Click yes in both cases.

now after alt-tabbing, ingame brightness/contrast settings work fine, but multisampling drops back to x1.

I'll have a look at that eventually. For the time being you're probably better off enforcing such settings through the graphics driver.

dgVoodoo2 now supports multisampling (2x-4x-8x) and anisotropic filtering too (2x->16x) with no problem

As I said before I really can't find any problem with dgVoodoo2 and Win10 C.U.

you're lucky in my case, app crashes when I try to launch it with DirectX emulation enabled.

You're NOT using VisibleUpgrade -> DX2main is the original exe....

    You must launch DeusEx2.exe

Set the VRAM to 1024 MB
    Reset the brightness to 100%

I've tried playing with all settings many times. The only value when the game is starting at all is 64Mb (but the screen is black, only dgVoodoo logo is visible). Brightness was altered only for taking the screenshot.

Is it working now? You really can launch DeusEx2.exe directly.

not working I'm starting to think that it's a GPU-specific bug, i.e. it's not compatible for some reason. can anybody confirm that GTX970 is ok with dgVoodoo?

I'll do that and if you want I can upload them on here and if you want you put them in the archive with installer so can people can see how the various changes affect the game.Or I will just put them into a post with annotations of what each change is.

I took screenshots of all the different options even the two NG Resonance options and I then put them all into a folder and compressed them and uploaded them to google drive. Here's a link

Great! Would you mind posting them in a separate thread? Then I can link to that from various places and you'll get proper credit.

    News?

To be in par with Sneaky Upgrade about features presented in the GUI (Frame Cap / Dynamic Viewport Resolution Control / etc. )

VSync not working in DX8 mode (without dgvoodoo2) in Fall Creators Update:

62 FPS (limited) vs 60 refresh rate:

Hopefully there'll be an update soon - nothing too major, the SU will need most of the time.

    Frame Cap
Is it needed? This game doesn't have the same problems with high frame/refresh rates as Thief 3?

Dynamic Viewport Resolution Control / etc.
Minor stuff like this should have a chance of making it in...

Bundling dgVoodoo2 is probably the way to go. Do you think Mr. Dege would mind?

A frame cap is always a good thing for BORDERLESS WINDOWED mode

I'll ask him about, but the strange thing is that the lastest S.U. VSync (in dx8) is working well with FCU.

Using a DX11 wrapper takes away the possibility to force the HBAO+ with GeForce GPUs, so can you first try to adapt the lastest S.U. tweaks to V.U. ?

It's a bit counterintuitive but to have TDS and DXIW working in original DX8 mode is a really good thing....

The patched D3D8.dll works, but it would be awesome if Snobel can actually fix the problem game-side (in Thief DS it is somehow fixed :| )
