I imagine he's talking about the people that crashed Trump's event in Chicago where things got pushy and he had to reschedule it.

No surprises since the MSM have kept it on the QT, but some far left activist brought a knife to one of Trump's rallies and tried to run on to the stage towards Trump before being brought down.

Do you have a link for the source for that?

Yes, I already googled and found nothing outside of very sketchy hearsay. If you have some rock solid source, I'd be interested to see it.

Basically, the bad/good news (delete as approprtiate depending on political leanings) is that he wasn't deaded, but there's always another day and another dollar, and don't doubt that there a lot of people who want to do the job.

From what I can tell, he was accosted and that the person who accosted him was rumoured to be carrying a knife. As for the "far-left" part, it seems it was a supporter of ISIS who aren't exactly the most liberal of folks.

I think it's good news he wasn't killed - his followers are terrifying enough without him being martyred. Alive, he still has a chance to disappoint a load of idiots.

This is somewhat like the story concerning a black kid, who may have been involved with the BLM movement, shooting another black kid during the first protest that spread all over the internet a couple days ago. Everyone was up in arms over it, screaming about the liberals this, the MSM that, and blah blah blah.

...then someone very wisely decided to check the source, and it turned out to be from a parody website. The fervor died fairly quickly after that.

Keeping in mind that I live in the Chicago "area", all I have been hearing on the radio all weekend is that the police, secret service, and everyone else officially involved advised Trump that there was no serious threat and that it was completely under control. He chose to leave on his own anyway, against everyone else telling him that it was ok to stay.

It's still probably a wise move on his part to de-escalate things a bit. He has nothing to gain and possibly a lot to lose if a riot breaks out at one of his events. At this point in the campaign, he needs to look more mainstream and not be such a lightning rod, so why risk it?

Regarding the protestors, I do not think it's appropriate to protest at the other party's campaign events during the campaign. They should spend their energy rallying behind their candidate of choice instead of trying to disrupt the other party's events. It's ugly politics.

That's working real well for Kasich and Rubio, isn't it? Right now arguably Trump needs to energize and turn out as many nutters as possible to the polls in the hopes of averting a convention fight.

Trum positioning himself as being counter to the mainstream, AKA The Establishment, AKA Herpa Derpa Dur, has been the single major contributor to his success. It's his meal ticket, and he knows it. He won't give it up now, not while he's doing so well, so close to the end of the primaries.

edit: By the way, the next person I see post about the "MSM" unironically, I will hunt them down, and I will puncture their trachea with a ballpoint pen. If they're lucky, that'll be the ONLY thing I'll do. I hate them so much.

There aren't enough nutters to carry him to a general election victory. At least, that's what the MSM say.

I got this weird clicking noise in my head. If I listen to it really carefully, it's saying "...kill...kill...kill".

And yes, the MSM (GAWWW) is correct in this regard. It's looking more and more likely he'll win the Republican primary, but that's mostly due to the fact that the GOP has been vainly throwing fodder his way in an attempt to stop him with a more marketable candidate, which has only serve to split the vote multiple times in his favor.

His chances of winning the election itself are pretty slim. His only hope is that there are enough voters out there who hate Hillary enough to swallow their pride, and vote for him. But then again, this is the same strategy Hillary is banking on herself, so...

...sigh, it's such a great time to be an American. We're almost spoiled with choices on who to begrudgingly settle on...

My gut says he's playing up a culture war to get free press and sensationalize it. He has the most to gain if people think riots could break out at his events because it paints the opposition as unruly rabble that need to be put in their place. Even when he's being responsible he's being irresponsible.

I saw a great interview on Zakaria yesterday with the people polling Trump supporters, and it turns out there's one major decisive factor over all others. It doesn't matter your gender, class, race (relatively speaking), region, religion. The overwhelming decisive factor is persons who want to raise their children to be disciplined and obedient vote for Trump. Those that want to raise their children to be open minded and curious don't. All other factors bow to that one metric. Explains a lot.

In other words, the theory his candidacy feeds off economic anxiety and bigotry of working class white men isn't actually what the data shows. The data shows it's more about the culture war. A college educated woman that wants disciplined children will likely vote Trump and a working class man that doesn't likely won't.

I read that very thing on the Washington Post a few weeks back.

The Authoritarian Test would've been something I wrote off as complete pop psychology bullshit not even a year ago. It's just 4 very short questions that don't seem to answer anything in and of themselves, other than a tendency towards a preferred parenting style. But when you consider the results, it's...well, it's interesting, at least.

Trump v Clinton...I've not missed a chance to vote since I was able but will stay the fuck home if they are my options. The dems putting up Hill I understand...she's carried the flag and suffered greatly...it's her turn. She's a disaster but it's her turn. But Trump???? Just goes to show how fucking pissed off the right is. So angry they'll put this piece of shit in office. Good decisions aren't made while angry.

Edit..and for you left leaning folks...you have to stop and pause/consider why the right is so fucking pissed off.

It could also be because not as many American people are dying for want of medical treatment, and not as many American soldiers are dying for big business interests. That tends to piss the right off.

I am so, so sick of this false left/right dichotomy we've got going on in our politics these days. I mean what does the so-called right have to be angry about?

A band-aid on our sucking chest wound of a healthcare system that doesn't fix much of anything? An idea fielded by the Heritage foundation, found to work fairly decently enough under Romney's initiative in Massachusetts, and implemented across the country by a Democrat? Oh, the audacity of the quote unquote Left, taking an idea from the quote unquote Right, slapping their name on it, and running with it. But oh, we can't defend it now. Can't point fingers and say "hey, that was our idea." No, we have to vote to repeal it 57 times in congress, wasting everyone's time because there's no way in hell we'll be able to do so, and scream about Communism for 7 years.

And what about the JUDICIAL ACTIVISM that's led us to FREE REIGN HOMO-LOVE! All those gay men and women, who were already living together before doing gay men and women things, can now get a certificate and a tax break like everyone else! OH, THE HUMANITY! THE SANCTITY OF OUR SECULAR SYSTEM OF MARRIAGE! Now let's watch as a woman who has no concept of the separation of church and state uses her personally held beliefs to undermine the duties of her elected government position. SHE IS A HERO FOR STANDING UP FOR THESE THINGS THAT MAKE ME UNCOMFORTABLE, BUT OTHERWISE HAVE NO EFFECT ON MY LIFE!

Is it the racial strife that's been boiling over recently? I have to admit that the BLM hasn't held themselves up to be an exemplary example of a well done protest movement. That's what happens when you don't have a figurehead, and you allow any dipshit off the street to use your name to do whatever BS they feel like doing at the time. But at the same time, the usual talking heads calling them a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION is nothing but equally stupid hyperbole applied from the opposite direction.

And what's it all over? The crap those blacks get up to? I'll admit, Michael Brown's shooting was probably justifiable. Problem was, it happened in a place where racial tension was already at an all time time. Tamir Rice. Hell, there was absolutely no excuse for defending that. Or that guy who was hassled in New York over selling cigarettes on the street, flinched at the wrong time, and was suffocated to death under the ensuing 5-cop pile up. And that guy who's neck mysteriously snapped in the back of a paddy wagon? That just doesn't happen.

Damn cell phones and surveillance cameras, showing us the injustices that the black community faces every day. On that note, I don't think cops are bad people. I'd say the vast majority of them are good doing a hard, thankless job. Nor do I think every arrest of a black person is some unjustified example of police brutality. The problem is, racism hasn't quite gone away here in the US. Yes, it's better, but we don't yet inhabit that truly egalitarian society we imagined ourselves to be living in. We've been ignoring some uncomfortable truths to maintain a comfortable lie, and now it's all exploding in our faces. Yes, some people do act the victim of their own idiocy. Some do play that fabled Race Card for their own selfish benefit. But where there's smoke, there's fire. We've looked the other way, telling ourselves its out, and now it's burning in our back yards.

There's more I could go on about. Taxes, our mewling idiot college studends who demand safe spaces, and freedom from contrary thought, the so-call extreme leftist views of Obama and, hell, Bill Clinton of all people, all kinds of stuff. But hey, I'm out of time. Gotta head out. I'll leave with this:

This isn't a left/right issue. The issue is that we, as a nation, have been far too comfortable for far too long. We've ignored the world, thinking its something that happens to other people, while taking from it to fuel our own lifestyles. And now? Oh, it's encroaching. It's right on our doorsteps. We, as a nation, have to face the reality of the world we've helped creat. Unlike our grandfathers, who's glories and good works we've been riding on for the last 40 odd years, we're not doing a good job availing ourselves in these tough times.

We've become a nation of whiny children.
