I really can't stop thinking that the "american dream" paradigma is the root of the problem.
I think the root of the problem is two-fold. First, there is a worldwide reactionary movement resulting from two major global crises that happened in the last 15 years, the GFC and COVID pandemic, that caused people to lose faith in government, science, and collective solutions. Second, social media has allowed propaganda to flourish over truth. Trump is a poster child of the movement, but I see it everywhere. Xi Jinping moved China to the right, Putin moved Russia to the right, reactionaries or right-wing parties are in government in nearly half of the EU, South America, and sub-Saharan Africa. We have Yoon in South Korea, Erdogan in Turkey, Netanyahu in Israel, Modi in India, Subianto in Indonesia, etc. Canada looks like the next domino to fall. There are a few lights of hope, like the collapse of UK Conservatives and Bolsonaro losing in Brazil, but otherwise the future is looking dark.

Besides Putin and Xi, Trump is the most dangerous person in power because he has pledged suicidal economic policies that will bring another great depression. And regardless of who is in power in Washington, we are headed toward WW3 and China will win.

Sad but true. Trudeau is incompetent and Poilievre will sell us out to Trump while he tries to socially engineer Canada into MAGA North.

The only hope is that the Liberals can field a stellar leader for Prime Minister and that Poilievre goose-steps too blatantly.

Sorry, gotta' go. Learning Mandarin is a bitch.

Donald Trump officially becomes the 47th President of the United States of America!

Which brings us to the first order of business, which is renaming the title of this thread.

He is certainly not "dumped", so that is completely inappropriate.

Perhaps "Trump Victorious", or even "Trump Triumphant"..."President Trump" would suffice, as well.

Thanks for the kind regards, Medlar.

Despite the fear mongering from some, there is a great opportunity for U.S. success...and even for the U.K, if it plays its cards right.

In fact, there is even a possibility that a Golden Age will occur....So ignore the neurotic negativity, stay positive, and enjoy the ride.

    Nowdays it means 2 things:

    1) trolling for the sake of a pornographic performance and attentionwhoring
    2) trolling to please Pepe communities

Example of heart-throwing roman soldier, you can literally see he's gabbring his heart and give it you !

The thread title is still accurate. Lord Dampnut was dumped on the people of the US by nearly half of the voters.

As for Musk's gesture, he's hardly the first one who has "thrown their heart" to Lord Dampnut:

I don't really get the obsession with trying to honour people who attacked the US. What's next, a statue to Bin Laden? Name some of the installations after Japanese pilots at Pearl Harbor?
Speaking of traitors and losers, Lord Dampnut pardoned his followers who attacked the Capitol, including those who assaulted police officers, after they had lost the election:

    [...]
Starting virtually from the moment the Capitol was breached, investigators spent more than four years obtaining warrants for thousands of cellphones and Google accounts, scrolling through tens of thousands of hours of police body-camera and surveillance camera footage, and running down hundreds of thousands of tips from ordinary citizens.

Their work resulted in charges being brought in Federal District Court in Washington — just blocks from the Capitol itself — against almost 1,600 people. More than 600 of those defendants were accused of assaulting or impeding law enforcement officers, many with weapons that included hockey sticks, firecrackers, crutches and broken wooden table legs.

More than half of the nearly 1,100 people who have been sentenced for their crimes were sentenced to at least some time in jail. Mr. Tarrio, the former Proud Boys leader, received the longest prison term of any defendant — 22 years. He was followed closely by a Proud Boys member from California, David Dempsey, who had attacked the police with his hands, his feet, a flagpole, pepper spray and other weapons and was sent to prison for 20 years.

Both of those sentences will now be erased, along with others for far-right leaders like Mr. Rhodes, the Oath Keepers founder, who was serving an 18-year prison term when the commutations were issued.

Oh, no no no, Pyrian, Musk is only doing a historical reenactment, a cosplay, if you will, of the traditional heart throwing gesture people used to do in the 30s and 40s. It just happens to look identical to the Nazi salute --- which is maybe where your confusion might be stemming from.

My take away from Trump's speech yesterday is that renaming the Gulf of Mexico is America's top priority.

And let's purge any mention of his criminality and general villainy from it too; stealing from dying children, raping women, stealing from contractors, raping young girls, stealing from his supporters, killing his supporters, chumming with fascist despots, cheering for fascist despots, enabling fascist despots, profiteering from crises he created, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc..

    Let's just feel the love...

Speaking of criminality and dumping, Lord Dampnut apparently launched a shitcoin to fleece his supporters:

On the bright side, we might get a Coffeezilla investigation out of this.

It's not a media hoax. There's literally a video of it. Of course, only he knows his true intentions, but you can't deny he's making a gesture most commonly associated with Naziism. If I drove around with swastikas on the side of my car but insisted that I was merely a Buddhist, you'd certainly have cause to be suspicious.

I know you're really excited about your new president, and that's fine, but for God's sake, if you don't think critically about the things he says and does, you're just leaving yourself wide open to be taken advantage of. Proclaiming this to be a golden age before anything has actually happened is the height of naivety.

Reminder that 24/7 focusing on Trump's, Musk's, Vance's and others' personal mistakes or eccentricites - while doing nothing to actually help struggling Americans - is why your side lost.
