I know its the code to the bosses elevator in his office in Deus Ex Human Revolution
The 0451 keycode came up during some immersive sim talk recently and when I looked around the net I couldn't find any comprehensive lists of all the games that use it. But I figure that if any community can crowdsource this thing it's TTLG! Here's what I got so far, feel free to fill in my blindspots/issue corrections/elaborate on explanations.

I don't know if it's comprehensive, but there's a list in the Bioshock wiki under Cultural References: http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/BioSh...ral_References
It's in both Dishonored games too (although necessarily shortended to 451 to fit safe combo locks). In the first game, it's the first safe you come across after breaking out of prison while going through the sewers, and in the second it's used twice in the same building, first early in the game, and second towards the end. That building is also the home of someone you robbed in the first game IIRC.
Bioshock Infinite, it's the only code in the game AFAIR.
Thanks! Also filled in some DX blindspots from this list.
A very hidden 0451 can be used to disarm the lock in First City Bank and Trust in Thief 2
Cool idea for a thread. Just did a quick search, looks like in the game Sanitarium (1998), the code 451 opens the gate to the pumpkin patch. I haven't played that game for years, so I don't remember that part at all.
The code in Dishonored 2 is to the safe of Dr. Galvani. If you've forgotten the first game, he's the guy whose lab you visit while doing an errand for Granny Rags near the beginning.
So what is the significance of the code? As in, why is it used so often?
It was originally a reference to Fahrenheit 451, but it kind of took on a life of its own. IIRC, Ion Storm studio's outer physical door literally had that as its code, and new employees were expected to just know that.
It was the door code at Looking Glass Studios.
I know Neon Struct has it. I don't remember what level but it was the code for the office you had to break into.
Typically, it was also the first code you came across in a game. Not sure how many games toyed with this idea, but e.g. in Prey it's not the first one, but it's a key to your office where you get major plot reveal (so it's kind of first important one).
As well as being the code to your office on Talos 1 Prey also has another nice nod to this, the apartment that the player starts in is number 4509 so when you leave your apartment at the start of the game you face the opposite door which is numbered 4510 so it's one of the first number you see in the game.
I know for sure Project Maiko will have the number at some point in the game. /selfplug
I was just watching a speedrun of Mirror's Edge Catalyst, and noticed that the cops refer to Faith as "employee 0451". Wonder if the original (which was more like a 451 game imo) references it somewhere now.
I don't think it's one of his better videos, but...
Not a great video by itself, but it has me looking forward to the ones he's going to put out this summer.
I usually have it hidden somewhere in my games![]()
I write it on the back of my underpants when I go to summer camp.
I'm sure the full 0451 is a code early on in SS2 and not just in the instances you mentioned henke.
How do you get any more "full" than 45100?
