Great fight! Also, gotta give props to that zombie for ringing the bell like it's going out of style.
Velstadt down. It took about 30 tries and it was fucking annoying. He has some attacks that are very hard to dodge at low agility, and instakills at the HP I have. I used the shield against these, and for risky situations. Strangely, this attempt has a shitty beginning but turns out to be one. Also, finally I have the ring to reveal my true form.
Still gotta play as a zombie most of the time because there are too many other important rings.

Guardian Dragon. Turns out I have just enough HP to survive one hit from the fire breath attack.Apart from that hit and an accidental Poison Mist casting later the fight went pretty smoothly. Took a lot of time though, since depending on RNG, this boss can present few opportunities for the player to attack safely.
Cool fight.
I've just picked up DS2 SOTFS for $11 on the latest PS4 sale which has given me an excuse to revist the whole game from beginning to end. I'm trying out a Deprived Faith-Dex build this time round, which is a first for me for both of those. Seems pretty straightforward so far. Deprived actually allows ease of stat customisation, however probably should have waited a little while to add faith points as there's no spells around for a while that I recall. With just a dagger and no armour I've reached the second bonfire at the Forest of Giants with only one death so far, trying to leap from the watchtower to a nearby section beneath it but didn't quite make it.
Way to go, Hermione!![]()
I cheesed the shit out of the Throne Guardians, so I'm not showing that.
On the other hand here's the Nashandra fight. Turned out to be more intense that I anticipated, since I have so little health, her dark orbs kill me in 3 seconds, and their effect covers half the arena. I had to avoid those, and try to make her deploy them on the edge of the chamber, so I have room to maneuver. After a handful of tries, it worked out.
So time to sit into the giant oven-chair and get cooked for the sake of mankind!

You know what, I'm embarrassed to say that I completely glossed over the heading of this thread. I didn't realise that you were playing the game to the end using an SL1 level character only. Not sure how I did that but anyway just want to say that getting through this is a pretty amazing achievement.
EPILOGUE
I didn't mention this in the previous post, but after I finished the run and watched the ending cutscene, the game crashed, right at the beginning of the credits. Granted, it didn't crash by itself, my whole PC froze up when I stopped recording, but still, it happened. After that I restarted my PC, started the game up, and when I tried to load the character...
Is this it? Is this the end of the journey for my SL1 character? Neve setting foot in Drangleic again? If I ever want to continue this, I won't be able to?
...
No, because I make manual backups every day. Had one just before Nashandra. I advise everyone to do the same, better safe than sorry. The DS games don't support Steam could saves either, so you can't count on that.
Every time I approach a boss, every time I defeat a boss, every time I get a new item, I manually make a copy of my savefile. Hundreds of them in one play-through. I'm almost finished with another play-through of DS1. I just counted, I have 138 savefiles.
Congratulations on doing this at SL1. A month or three ago I decided to try a DS3 SL1 run. It was surprisingly easy. Until it stopped being easy. That was at Pontiff and Dancer. I stopped playing then. Doing a few bosses at SL1 is no big deal, imho. Or some. Or many. The problem is to do *all* bosses at SL1. I'm sure there are some very hard bosses in DS2 at SL1 as well. Grats for beating those. Very nice. And thanks for posting the movies. Always entertaining.
Hmm, never had that problem for many replays of all Souls/Bloodborne and hundreds hours. I have been playing on PS though. I thought there was some protection implemented in such cases, at least in latest Souls like second hidden save or something, coz you know it really would be a huge pain in the ass to lose like 300 hrs progress in NG+5.
