I'll buy it for the Switch!![]()
Dark Souls Remastered. 4K/60fps on PC, PS4 Pro, X1X; 1080p/60fps on PS4, XB1. 60fps which doesn't break the game finally!
There's also a bastardised 30fps port coming for Switch. (#ButItsPortable LMAO)
Bandai Namco announced that the remaster is also headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 25, 2018.
Dark Souls Remastered will come with improved resolution and other visual upgrades for the port. I’ll include the Artorias of the Abyss DLC and an increase to six maximum players for the multiplayer.
The game will run at an upscaled 4K resolution and 60fps on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. The PS4 and Xbox will run it at 1080p and 60fps. PC will have native 4K with all textures 2K unconverted and 60fps. The Nintendo Switch version runs the game at 1080p and 30fps in TV mode and 720p and 30fps for Handheld Mode.
Dark Souls Remastered releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 25, 2018.

Dark Souls Remastered? Pfft.
Dark Souls Trilogy!
I like Dark Souls, but damn, I don't know if I $500 like it.
Oh well, there goes my productivity this summer. Now if only they did Demon's Souls (and fixed the damn title of the game).
It'd be nice to get Demon's and Bloodborne, but it's...yeah, it's not gonna happen. Those are Sony's exclusively.
The only thing I'm a bit put off about is that I had just played through the vast majority of DS not even a few months ago. I'm hoping they add enough new content, and/or mix things up enough to better justify it for people who have already sunk a few hundred hours into the game. I wouldn't be surprised if, at the very least, they throw in a couple more expansions after release.
But, comeon, we're all gonna buy it here. That's a given. My only issue is whether to get it for the Switch, and deal with the 30FPS lock for the sake of being able to play it whenever wherever, or grab it for the PC, and get 60 FPS with all the bells and whistles on.
This is great news for me personally, as I have not played the original yet. Now it's just a matter of Switch or PS4.
There's something really funny about the prospect of playing DS on the Switch!

Btw, I didn't see it mentioned yet, but it looks like its going to run 40 bucks. Take that Skyrim.
If it will have password co-op, like in DS3, I'm interested. They already said it'll be on the new engine and will allow 6 players in a session (it was max 4 in DS). I wouldn't mind if they added weapon level based matchmaking too. Otherwise what would be the point in replaying the same game I already spent 600 hours on? Unless it's a Scholar type of remix too, I'd take that.
Also, 50% off the remastered version for people who already own it on Steam.
Rad.
You know, I bet the Switch version is gonna have the Master Sword in there somewhere. You'll be able to swing it 5 times, then wait 20 minutes before you can swing it again.
Link outfit too?
Probably. There might be a Gaping Dragon amiibo, too.
This is wonderful news. DS1 already looks quite beautiful with dsfix but I'm sure it will be impressive to see where FS' artists can take it. Hopefully they don't mess with the formula too much.
I expect they'll be using the DS3 engine, so it'll look at least on par with it. Whether the changes extend to the gameplay as well, that remains to be seen.
Though, personally, I wouldn't mind playing the original DS with the quickness of DS3.
I wouldn't mind playing DS3 with the pacing of the original DS.
Btw, password matchmaking is pretty much confirmed, so I'm in, especially for 50% off price. Also, no major changes, but that was expected.
I wonder if darkroot garden farming will still be a thing![]()
Me too.
60 Fps ? What is awesome about 60 fps ? 60 Fps is soooo 2003. And besides that, I've been playing DS1 with 60 fps since I started playing DS1. What I want is DS1 at 144 fps. Why is that not possible ? (Rhetorical question). I would also like to have native 21:9 support. But something makes me believe that DS1-Remastered still won't have 21:9 support.
The difference between 30 and 60 FPS feels much bigger to me than the difference between 60 and 120 or even 60 and 144. I can live with 60, although, of course, more would be better.
If a game can deal with 30 fps and 60 fps, that means they should have de-coupled the frame-rate and time in the game world. If those two are de-coupled, then it doesn't matter if the game runs at 60 fps or 144 fps. I got a monitor that can do 144 Hz. So let me play at 144 Hz.
Wonder if they'll make any noteworthy changes. DS3 had some important combat difference from DS1, and some of DS1's covenants were nearly useless.
Sign me up for the bastardized LMAOOOOO port.
I'll be getting this on the PS4, can't wait! Think i'll get the Switch version when it's at a more sensible price but what great news though, Praise the Sun!!!
Sounds like DS 2 and 3 will also be coming to the Switch.
