Looks awesome. Makes me wish I picked it up during the last sale.
Though what's the deal with that ghost shark floating around the bonfire?
Figured I'd make a thread for this, because why not. I have a video card with shadowplay now so it's easier to record - with the feature that records constantly and I can just save when I succeed (I had to manually start recording when I did the Dark Souls 2 SL1 run).
Anyway, here are the first two bosses.

That is my dropped Amrita (which is the main resource in this game, like souls in DS), so that "bonfire" is the equivalent of Dark Souls' bloodstain, and the shark is my current guardian spirit. There are multiple types with various advantages. When you die, the spirit stays with the Amrita and you can't use certain spirit related abilities until you pick it (your "souls" and your spirit) back up. If you die again without having picked it up, the Amrita is lost, and your spirit returns to you.
Here's a bunch more (in two posts, because forum rules). For those who haven't played the game, I think the most fun to watch are the Nue fight, and the duel with the real Tachibana Muneshige. The latter is actually a pretty difficult optional boss, I just happened to nail that attempt.
^ I love this tumbnail though.![]()
It's like, I want to watch these, but I know I shouldn't.
This is the final encounter of a side mission. No spoilers here, since all these enemies are non unique.
Neato. I had much more trouble with that bird boss at the end, probably because I save High stance for when enemies are taking a breather and/or are splayed out on the floor. Those little Umi-Bozu can be a pain in the ass, so apart from whacking them apart just after they lunge at you, you can throw Kayaku-dama or Horaku-dama at them if you have any since they're weak to fire. Also, you can set your sword on fire with those bonfires if you want to have an easier time of it.
Lol, yeah, I forgot about the bonfires, since I used a lightning katana against them throughout the level (slightly better than physical only) and just fell back to routine during the final fight. As for items... I have to scroll through my inventory once, 'cause I don't even know what consumables I have or what they're for. It'll be like in Dark Souls 2, where after a hundred hours I'll be like "what the hell are all of these things in my inventory?".![]()
This forum only allows four videos per post, so here's the next batch. Those who haven't played the game can watch the first one (Ohashi Bridge), it's an optional NPC type boss. Got it on the first try because I'm that good. Also, because magic.
EDIT: ^once again, thumbnail art is in effect with Ii Naomasa kicking my ass in that one.![]()

Makin' progress, so here's some more. First two is spoiler free - an optional fight with the first boss (Onryoki), and an NPC fight (Nagayoshi). Parried the latter for style points, but went back to the good old Odachi after that.
The journey continues. These are spoilerific except the last one (Mystic Art Duels) which are two NPC duels. I actually enjoy these. Got the Odachi one pretty easily but the sword one was tough as hell. Pretty much had to parry him a few times to get in damage.
Parrying is cool though. Pulling it off makes me feel like the third picture in this meme:

I took a break to get some Tales of Berseria in, which has been 60 hours of mashing buttons for combos without too much regard for timing or placement. Getting back to Nioh with Berseria's gameplay imprinted on my muscle memory has been... interesting. And by interesting I mean 'oh goddamn'. Currently trying to take down Evil Toad without Oumyo power cheesing like Sloth and his size+hitboxes are pretty much ruining my shit in his second phase. Discovered just about as I was quitting that his sticky firebombs don't damage you if you're defending while they explode, but I'll give it a go once I'm done with ToB.
Took a break to play Dark Souls 2 for a week, but now I'm back and I'm getting close to the end of the main game. Spoilerific bosses ahead.
This is actually the second time I kill Mitsunari, because I forgot to record the first time, so went back and did the mission again.
Allright, I did it!
That was one hell of a ride, I loved it. I think I'll take a break before preparing for and attempting the DLCs, but I definitely gotta agree with Sulphur that this is GOTY 2017.
EDIT: These were my endgame stats:

and as for armors, I've been using 2p Kingo and 5p Warrior of the West.
