Ok, I played 7 hours of Death Stranding today. I think that’s enough for right now. It is very good. It’s like MGS V crossed with Spintires.
You just described it in a way that's akin to a marmite and peanut butter sandwich. To which most people would say 'why?', some people would say 'why not?', and I would say 'where's the fucking jelly'.
Q: So what's Death Stranding about?
A: It's about delivering packages. I mean, there's a story and stuff, but mostly it's about delivering packages.
Q: What's it entail?
A:Most of the gameplay in centered around the delivery of these packages, spending large stretches of time finding the best way to traverse complicated terrain in the most efficient manner possible.
Q: Can you drive a truck?
A: Trucks can be used to help you deliver your packages.
Q: Does it involve realistic physics and mud?
A: Oh, yes. So much mud and physics.
Conclusion: Death Stranding is a AAA high budget Henke Game.

I dunno how you could miss it. From the trailer alone, you can tell it's got trucks, mud, physics, and chores. All the prerequisites that make for a solid Henke Game.
But marmite & PB is delicious! I eat it all the time. Guess that means I need to play this game.
HAHA but seriously tho, the vehicle physics aren't that good. I've only gotten a motorbike yet but the physics left a lot to be desired. Very stiff and arcadey, not weighty and simulatory enough! Also I've waded through water and rivers of oil, but no mud so far. It reminds me of Spintires in the sense of having to plan ahead what might be the best route, observe the environment, and conquer a lot of rough terrain to deliver your packages. I love games where you're just a guy doing a job, so yeah, this is very much my kinda thing.
Plus if you don't like the terrain, then you can always build ways around it.
I will cross valleys and mountains to get dat loot!
