Hey Gray, I was going through my old CDRs and guess what I found - Elephantine Demo - that was your brother right? I still hold your reviews of Autechre and Pan sonic very close to my heart. RIP Mika. Glad to see you're well my friend!

    Cheers, Tocky (and Hi, Med)

I left NYC for a house in the country, but I'm a family man now... errr, again.

Yes. He was visiting me in Scotland this weekend, and just left this morning, which is why I thought of you. That is the exact thing that triggered my memory.

I can't say I'm well, but I live in Britain now, the bit where it always rains sideways. Still insomniac.

    Ah, a curious coincidence.

Watched a video about Thief last night and there was a link to another thread here so I thought I'd nose about in Commchat to see what was going on and found this thread.

This place (and #thief) were huge parts of my life for a long time before everything went really sideways so tis good to see that various people are still about and keeping on.

I've just remembered Paz as well, and of course Zantie. How are they doing? And there was Screech in Shadow Creepr's Chicago meet pics from 2003. Tonamel...

This thread is looking like the old TTLG was temporarily resurrected. Partly.

Just remembered Grundbegriff while making dinner...

Must confess I never did understand why Grundy left

I don't know the finer points, but he put in a lot of work that he felt was unappreciated. He was assembling a very lengthy text full of intricate details, can't remember the exact name now, something like Grundbegriff's Grymoire, and somewhere along the way he got into a spat with some then-moderator, and left. He did a lot of good work for the community and I was sad to see him go.

Screech got into a tiff with RBJ and couldn't let it go. I think she was temp banned but never came back. I hate it because I enjoyed some of her posts even when I disagreed.

Sypha Nadon came back just to post in Mara's thread. That was sweet of him. I must admit a bit of eye rolling at all his "problems" back in the day but now I wonder how they resolved themselves.

I wonder what happened to jimjack, Stitch (actually he came back just to admonish others for not posting on my Halloween thread and I griped that he hadn't either. I have to stop grumping at folks I like.), Scots Taffer, heretic, Shayde, Turtle, Monkeysee, BrokenArts, and especially Tatum. I hope they are all doing well. I want them all to have won the lottery, beaten their ailments, found the love of their life, and started rock bands. Well, another rock band for some.

Wynne came back just to start a thread and went silent again. I hate she had to go through so much but it was good to hear she came through it.

Shadow Creeper let me know how great she is doing with her man in England. I love happy news about love.

Hey guys. I'm around, mostly on FB because I'm always trying to promote a new book or CD. When we started moving around a lot to get me to a transplant center, it became hard to keep up with conversations, and there were far fewer of them to comment on. I stay in touch with everyone best I can on FB, but I really miss it here. I guess I just don't have the time for lengthy discussions anymore what with kids, creative commitments, and medical stuff. If I thought more people would migrate back over I'd be here every day again, but I don't think it will happen, as much as I kind of hate Facebook and what's it done to forums like these. Hope everyone is well, especially considering the news we got about MsLedd passing away on Friday. I don't think Dusty is doing too well either and I expect we'll hear the same of him soon. Love to you all.

Yeah Dusty is in a care facility now. His balance is bad but his outlook about life still good from what I gather. Glad to hear you are so busy and enjoying life, fett. I want to say don't worry about us but dammit worry about us some and spare a minute here or there. It's good to hear from you... but you know if more people came back then more people would be here and you are a people. Migration kind of works like that. Good to hear from you anyway.

Damn. I wasn't going to grump at folks anymore.

I think Digi and Sailoreagle were involved. None of it was pretty. Probably best left in the past but it's one of the things that confused me about some personality clashes here. I usually just want people to be reasonable.

Hey everyone. I've been pretty terrible at keeping in touch, when so many people here were once such an important part of my life. I always meant to come back, but I've ended up being rather busy with a variety of uni, sport, PhD and work. I will try to make more of an effort. If anyone is around Cambridge, I'm always happy to find an excuse to go for a drink

Paz and Zantie are now happily married and living in the US. Since I was the first person in the world who has met both of them, that makes me happy

I honestly never thought I'd get to see so many of these old nicks posting in these forums again

I've met a few IRL, like raph or David, but honestly I can't remember the nicks of all of the people. Maybe some of you can tell from these pics from our London meet (David isn't in the pics, as he was the one taking them):

First pic I remember but wasn't mine, the second was taken with my camera and I still have it... I don't have everyone but from left to right there's Ania, Kyloe, you, Jenesis, MyOldNameBroke, me, d0om, Ferret, DaveAngel, Jim the Hairy, and Iggles (if my records are accurate).

I still have those photos stored on a drive somewhere in my home office. That was such a fun time. That was my second meet for that year and it was attended by Rug Burn Junky, Stitch, Turtle, Microwave Oven, Screech, Zaphod, Tonamel, Howie and Kyran Ward.
I also had my UK spring meet with scumble, Saturnine, Thorin Oakenshield, Dinksmallwood and Zaccheus (RIP). I've meet up with Broken Arts and we are still in touch on a regular basis. I'll see if I can point her this way.
Tocky, that love story is 15 years strong now. My how time flies. I love seeing all these names again.
Raph, I need to get over to your area next!

I still lurk, just not as much. I do miss the forums, and all its simplicity. The chat had depth. FB and all that white noise shit. Oh hell, I said white, I guess I'm racist now.

Just say black to even things out. Always gotta balance that cultural scale.

See, I can say that here, and it just doesn't matter. Yes, you are correct. BLACK. Thanks Renz!
