Makes me wish I had gotten to know her just like you guys did.

She surely was a light in the darkness. And as long as we keep her memory alive, that light will never go out.

Some of us never had a chance to meet Mara.
Would someone write a thing or two about Mara. Who was she?

    Rest in peace

I just noticed this. We've kept in touch all these years, although less frequently as of late. I still have that small flask of 'extra time' that she sent me somewhere...
Fuck. Just fuck. I don't know what else to say.

I missed Mara after she stopped posting here years ago but I always hoped that she would be one of the ones who would come back eventually. There was always something missing here I felt after she left. So sad to learn of her passing.

The day you come from work, hop into the only forum you still have (some) time to participate, even if only as a regular player - and you read that another long-term member has passed away... :-(

My heartfelt condolences to her family, beloved ones and everybody knowing her.

I could drone on about how we all get older and that the hits will come closer and more often now (especially considering the age of the franchise) but the feeling of loss is always the same.

It would be terrible if it wasn't.

Posting this on behalf of Saturnine.

"I can barely find the words, I am absolutely devastated by this news, Mara was a true friend to me from the very beginning, way back in 2000. On hearing about this yesterday I looked back through my emails to find the last time we spoke, it was almost exactly one year ago today. I feel terrible that I didn't stay in touch more, time just went by so quickly and although I always found myself thinking about her regularly, I should have contacted her more often. Time flies
My condolences to her family. This is so hard to believe.
I love you Mara, rest in peace.

    Death is nothing at all.
    It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
    Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner.
    All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

I only knew her through her actions and posts, but she seemed like a wonderful person. She was definitely a driving force for good within this community.

For GBM, her family, friends... May the sadness of recent events be replaced by memories of happier times.

Farewell, Mara. Thank you for your dedication to this place and to the people that have filtered through it. You are, and always will be, loved by many here. Thank you for being our friend.

I feel like I do when there is a death in my family and it brings us all together from great distance. One thing someone always says is "it sure is good to see you again, I just hate it had to be under these circumstances". Mara is bringing us all together again. I think she would like that. Good to see you, mon. Good to see all of you.

    Rest in peace, Mara.

My condolences to her family and those who knew her well. We acutely feel her absence and wish it were not so, because it hurts not having her here.

I will keep Mara, her family, and her friends in my prayers tonight.

    God bless.

Thanks, Tocky. Even though I've drifted away from here for various reasons, this place was still a large part of my life, and I consider the people I met here, Mara included, as a special sort of family. So I feel the same way. It's a huge testament to Mara's influence that, as you said, even through her passing she's able to bring us all together again.

I am stunned and very sad. Mara was a force of nature. She texted me out of the blue a couple weeks ago. I could tell something was wrong, but she didn't want to go into her problems. She wanted to hear all about me. That's Mara. As GBM said, she loved us all.

It's hard to believe she's gone. The world is a darker place without her light. Peace to you, Mara.
