    TDP20AC Mission — Catacombs of Knoss (11/30/2018)

You can download the mission HERE or HERE.
    The contest thread is HERE.

Please give clues instead of outright solutions when helping others and use the spoiler tag when you do this.

Remember that this mission, and by extension every mission made for the contest, is for THIEF GOLD. As such, do not load it with Thief 2! It is highly recommended you do not use the Enhancement Pack and/or HD texture packs to play this mission. It is also recommended you uncheck all optional features TFix comes with if you update to the latest version of the full executable.

Just finished this 2 mission pack. All I'm going to say is that it's pretty damn good and creative (especially mission 2), with all the ways and passages to get around. Despite being "complex", it's hard to get lost. There's even a little something in there that might help you if you need to backtrack which is a nice touch by the author (who I think who they are, judging by the architecture and other stuff).

I kicked off the contest with this one and thoroughly enjoyed it, esp. mission 2 (wonderful catacombs). Creative, atmospheric and nicely paced - the whole thing is really well done. (I also found a message from Batman! )

Had lots of fun with this one. Really thick atmosphere and a lot of creativity here!

    My impressions in more detail:
Mission 1 is really well-done. The city is especially rewarding to explore since wherever you go, you find new places. The main highlight is the tower! I'll have to check out how it's made in DromEd since I can't figure it out at a glance. The only complaint I have is that most interiors feel a bit too big/underdecorated.
Mission 2 is a bit more complicated. I loved what the author was able to do with stock resources. There were lots of surprises and highly immersive atmosphere. On the other hand, the gameplay felt a bit underengaging. A few puzzles require you to do the same thing over and over. Evading the enemies is pretty easy... except for that one place! And I also got lost in the burrick caves

I have a pretty good idea who the author is, but I'll keep it to myself and just say that this is one of their best works!

Is there a way to prevent haunts from spawning all the time?

Mission finished, almost two hours of gameplay, This was an amazing experience, i loved both scenarios, they are so well constructed, i don't know who the author is but i have a suspicious. The gameplay was excellent , the music and ambient sounds are well placed and well chosen, the readables are captivating, the puzzles are not frustrating, some of the new surprises were very interesting. I give 10 out of 10.

To whomever made this beauty of high quality thank you so much.

alright, going to play another contest mission

I'm having trouble in the first mission with the objective to leave coins at the status. I'm at the statue but can't find anything I can frob with the coins. I thought maybe I had to drop them at the foot of the statue, but that doesn't tick off the objective.

Are you sure you have the right one? There is a bowl at its feet.

The relevant statue is west of the pagoda.

Thanks ffox, urgrue — I was looking at the enormous statue of a lady that's directly above the shops — found the right one now thanks to your help.

Any hint regarding the numbers puzzle in the Hall of the Hundred Heroes? I have tried 2 things that I thought might work but so far diddly squat.

There are 5 rooms. In each, count two things; what they are is written on the floor. You need to flip 2 levers in each room. You will notice something happen right away if you do it correctly.

    That's only on expert difficulty

On hard it's on a guard near Karthman's Estate
On normal it's on a guard inside Karthman's Estate

My apologies. My hints are for expert difficulty only.

Not sure what's happening, but when I try to start this mission it jumps to Part 2 immediately?

EDIT: Nevermind, it was my USER.cfg, must have left it set to blooper reel mode.

I'm stuck in the second mission.

I have the heart, brain, hand, eye, and ashes. I have no idea where I'm supposed to use these five things to get into the tomb of Knoss. Help!

On expert you need more stuff. However, when you have what you need, go to the tower of Knoss (check the map).

Would you believe I never checked to see if I had a map (or at least, if the map was given later in the mission, I never knew it).

I've now entered Knoss' tomb. Thanks!
