I'm finished with mission two except getting out. Where to look for a way out?

You can look around the temple there is one.

Thank you! Just sailed away! Very nice yet confusing map, especially true for the similar halls of the Bonehoard section. Easy to get lost.

I am not too fond of huge tombs. I don't like wandering around through endless, confusing corridors while being chased by undead. So when I read the comments applauding the mission's large size, I decided to try to make this a quick one.

My strategy after exiting the elevator was to immediately run down to the deepest part of the tomb while largely ignoring the undead and grabbing loot whenever possible. I ended up at the lost city pretty quickly, just short of the 1500 loot goal. That gave me an idea of the general size of the mission. Then I ran back up to complete the required objectives. To my surprise, there turned out to be a handy shortcut back to the upper levels. Very well designed! Back at the noblemans' tombs, I set out to pick up one object of value. I randomly choose Midas and followed my compass to the west, barged through the double doors, and through the tomb. Grabbed the golden skull, ran back through the tomb, ignoring all the golden guardians on my tail, and arrived back to the lost city. I checked my objectives and saw I had to pick up one special item at this place. I looked at my surroundings, saw the large temple, and thought: "Yeah, it's gotta be in there." Easily found my way inside, went to the upper floors, grabbed the item without trouble. Last goal: I was pretty sure St. Tennor's Hammer was going to be near the end of the mission, and it was. Saw it immediately up the cliff as I was leaving the lost city. By this point I felt I could close this one out soon. I charged up the cave, blackjacking any craymen as I ran by. After I had the hammer, I ran to the one direction in the cave I had not yet explored and ended up at the final area. With a satisfying chime, the final objective ticked off as completed.

Finished on Normal in under an hour with just 1515 loot. Probably one of the most efficient runs I ever did the first time I was playing a mission.

    I can't find Saint Tennor's hammer in part 2.
Is it in the maze? I only found a piece of jewelry in there.

Gloria If I recall correctly, if you know where the raft is in the caves, go south through a tunnel. The tunnel climbs upward, and in an open area turn right.

    I'm lost John, the raft?
Please spoil me where I actually can find it. I lost track of the total environment.

Gloria I don't know if you are in the lost city area but if so... this is a second route. There is a large obelisk in the middle in a small puddle of lava. Go south from this point and go through the double doors. They are open already. Keep going south for about 45 - 60 seconds until you see a large cliff. On top of the cliff is the Saint Tennor's hammer. To access it, go southwest until you see a ramp with strange claws. Run up the ramp, and as it curves to the south and eventually curves to the east keep going. The hammer should be on the left hand side.

The raft is actually east of the obelisk.

Just finished this one. Definitely a fun mission and one I'd recommend.

The bow upgrade easter egg was a nice touch, but requiring backtracking as it does was a bit much - makes it less of a difficulty challenge and more of a 'man, do I really want to take all that time?' challenge. It'd be nice if you'd gotten to use the result of your efforts earlier in the mission; most people will be otherwise long done when they finally get it.

Both missions ghosted. I'm not gonna talk about Mission 1, because it's very easy and uninteresting to ghost. Mission 2 is much bigger. It took me 2 hours 46 min and I got 4450 loot. The biggest problem with Nobles Area wasn't swarm of undeads, but rather that this place is huge and confusing. Not only that, map is also confusing, because all 4 floors are placed on 1 drawing. And also first map has North at the ride side and South on the lest. So it's pretty easy to assume that the rest of the maps has the same compass. But it's different - for the rest of the maps it's just normal North at the top and South at the bottom. This really confused me when searching for tombs.

Finally found entrance to Alarus Tomb, but I couldn't do too much without explosive device. Still there is some clever Thief mechanics used. First using lean to the side and then mantle onto higher platform was clever, but the biggest impression gave me crossing huge gap with huge jump. This can be done via jump acceleration, only possible in Thief 1. This is the first time I see jump acceleration being used in the mission, even if it's only for secret area.

The most interesting part to ghost was Lost City. Ghosting fire elementals was really challenging. Especially getting gem. Also I explored more of this place than the first time when I played normally. I only couldn't find any entrance to tower with broken ladder.

This one is old-school in a good way: a lot of work went into creating interesting 3D spaces to navigate. I liked mission 1's adventure game-style progression with the locked doors and the different ways you access new areas. Brushwork is simple but the details are well-placed and atmospheric. Mission 2 has a lot of platforming, and I enjoyed the puzzles and traps (I was feeling a cool Tomb Raider vibe at times--St. Francis' Folly, anyone? Palace Midas?), but felt the loot placement was overall uninspired. I got a little tired of seeing a single trinket placed dead center on top of a sarcophagus.

    The Tomb of Saint Tennor

    Hi,

I tried to play mission - The Tomb of Saint Tennor - but I got a message that said I am missing squirrel.osm. And also mission requires New Dark 1.25 or later to work.

I have New Dark 1.25 installed already.

    Readme says this:

Since this mission uses NewDark, Darkloader will try to install it for
Thief 2 istead of Thief Gold. To fix this you must do the following:

    - Select the mission from Darkloader, but don't install it.
    - Close Darkloader and open darkloader.ini, search for "tombsttennor"
    - Change "type=2" to "type=1" and save the file.
    - Open Darkloader again, the mission should now be correctly detected as a Thief Gold mission.

    I searched darkloader.ini and found "tombsttennor", but I couldn´t find "type=2".

Does anybody else have had this problem and fixed it?

Do you actually have squirrel.osm? Check the /OSM folder in your base Thief install directory.

If not, then maybe try to repatch with Tfix.

Also, don't use Darkloader, use FMSel or NewDarkLoader.

I was trying to find key 1 near the main entrance to the cathedral. I have found nothing so far. And where is the key 2?

    Thanks for the answer!

I actually reinstalled Thief Gold. Then installed TFix_1.26a and also NewDarkLoader 1.5.8.

    Now it´s working!!

I searched windows on both sides. I climbed the hammer over the entrance and still nothing. Am I supposed to go to the roof?

You don't have to go to the roof.
The key is on the edge above the entrance. To get it you have to pass through the hole of the stained glass, jump on the chandelier and jump again facing the edge to grab it..
    A bit tricky but doable!

This mission is deceptively well-designed. You start in this box canyon with a cathedral in front of you, and I immediately thought "This is probably going to be pretty simplistic." NOPE. This thing pole vaulted over my expectations and landed somewhere on the moon. Everyone I'm sure has been singing the second mission's praises (rightly so), but the first mission also is INCREDIBLY smart. I love how the dilapidated setting was used to give you gameplay hints, as you could look through destroyed walls and see how to access new areas or secret nooks. A surprising amount of rooftop traversal also! My favorite things:

-Every one of the tombs was so well made, but the puzzle where you had to re-direct the magic missile was actually mind blowing.
-The use of music was ON POINT in the tomb of the Midas family.
-You'd think at this point in the contest, when so many other missions have done the tomb-->Lost City-->Maw thing that I'd be ready for it, but I was STILL caught off guard.
-Authors that go the extra mile to make a decent map don't get praised enough, so thank you thank you THANK YOU for the immaculately detailed map. It helped so much in getting my bearings.

Thanks for the mission, I loved it!
