    Cool Thief Channel

    Hello taffers!
So I found this realy cool looking youtube channel that showcases FM's and uses very immersive and thievy music in its videos.
I'm just wondering if it's created by somebody from the TTLG forums.
What are your opinions, guys and gals?
Enjoy and have a good day now!

I agree with Keeper Flix. Whenever I wash my defections with my bidé, I always love to play deep house music since it makes me feel like Garrett. Great channel, would definitely recommend.

Cultural appropriation of Thief FM screenshots to shamelessly promote House music

Absolutely not I would say... it's just looping beats... Thief music should have been more atmospheric or orchestral... House music don't really fit with the dark fantasy medieval steampunk setting.
I won't complain that much since the missions and authors are quoted in the description but as Azaran, I don't really understand the idea of promoting House music with Thief FM screenshots...
It's not like if it was fitting with the atmosphere shown on the screens.

I know Cardia loves this kind of music, so maybe this is his Youtube account under a pseudonym? I agree though, I don't find this music very thiefy at all.

It's my channel, i´ve never shared it here, because i know Deep house music is not the cup of tea for most of people in this forum, its part of my world and i don't expect people to understand the connection between deep house/dub techno and these kind of atmospheres. The channel is more for deep house lovers.

Marbleman i forgot that one, but it was more an expression of excitement than really sharing officially the channel.

I'm glad you enjoy the music and associate it with Thiefy scenarios, and am happy for you to share it here if you want to. People can decide for themselves if they also like it or not.

Thank you Russ, i don't associate deep house with all kind of thief scenarios, but if i am to share any kind of music here it will be something more fitting for this community, like for example this album "consumed" by Plastikman:

    https://www.discogs.com/Plastikman-C...d/master/37441

which fits well with dark atmospheres or even "Zauberberg" by GAS:

    https://www.discogs.com/Gas-Zauberberg/master/14304

But then again ,music is something very personal , and even if we all like the thief Universe when it comes to other things including music we are all different. In any case i respect other people's taste and i don't argue or criticized it, i keep my opinions to myself which is more polite.

Well said. Music is a personal thing but I think it also an important part of enjoying life and should be shared whenever we are inclined to do so.

Even more easy to suggest here is the soundtrack of tomb raider 1,2,3 and 4 which was composed by Eric Brosius , i´m sure everyone here can enjoy it, as well as other videogame soundtracks such as assassin's creed that has nice ambient music for thief.

I love Autechre music for some type of Thief atmospheres, but i would never dare to recommend it here

The first three Tomb Raider soundtracks were composed by Nathan McCree. To my knowledge Eric Brosius never did anything for that franchise.

I listen to GAS a ton when I use Dromed. I even tried chopping up some of his tracks into loops I can use with custom schemas, though I don't when I'll get around to using them.
Autechre's great too although they'd obviously fare better in an SS2 FM.

my mistake then, Eric Brosius did the soundtrack for both 3 Thief games except the last one.

Schlock it seems we are several authors that like GAS, Soul Tear as well

I´m also a fan of Armin van Bureen, i´ve bought all his albums except his last two "embrace" and "old school" which was a deception to me

Paul van Dyk is also really good, though his two last albums are not big deal in my opnion, and i love most of the trance in general, but i find it hard to associate it with Thief, however with Tomb Raider it fits well , those exotic areas in Alexandria, Egypt, the antique Rome and the antique Greece, with the sunny and sunset atmospheres goes well with trance, as trance for me is a romantic expression.

For those who like GAS check these ones , they are very similar:

yes, that's why it makes no sense to talk about deep house music here, it's like bring this kind of subject in a rock or classic music forum, its misplaced, and therefore this kind of answers you give. zoom bam bam zzaaap is more like to be Autechre not deep house , Autechre is not an easy listening , but this British duo is genius.
