If anyone is looking to collaberate on a mission, I am working on a design that I think can be accomplished by two people within the remaining timeframe.
I am still learning many of DromEd's secrets, so I do not think I could accomplish it alone, but certainly could work with a more experienced DromEd-er to make a good romp.

Scientific Paper - Why do you Create Thief Levels in 2019?

    Dear creators!

I'm very impressed by the screenshots of this contest.

I'm currently writing a scientific paper about the dark engine, dromed and why creators still make games with it.

Please check out my thread ttlg post: Scientific Paper - Why do you Create Thief Levels in 2019?

    Thanks!

Yandros, how many contestants do we have (potentially including those who contacted you via PM)? I think we are definitely going to have more than 10 missions released.

Between this thread, PMs and Discord I count 13 different authors with missions in the works. No doubt there are others of whom I'm not aware, but it's also unlikely they will all get released. I would say if we get 10 or more, we're doing well.

    YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, all you Dromed Gods!!

If the missions coming out of this contest are anything like the incredible series that resulted from the Thief 1 20 year contest, we will see more of the fantastic and stunning creations that our creative community has been able to produce, likely to be some of the highest pinnacles of creative endeavor ever seen in Thief.

Alas! I am not a creator of Thief goodness, but I am an extremely grateful consumer and player, in awe of those who can massage Dromed into worlds of wonder.

No other gaming community out there can hold a candle to the dedicated wizards of Thiefery!

May the Builder guide you all!

Three months left. I haven’t played Thief 2 since 2011 but I will reinstall the game to play the missions from this contest.

My current count is around 15 possible authors, but there are likely some I don't know about and others who won't make the deadline. To that end, I'd like to post my list here and ask anyone who is either on the list and not expecting to finish, or not on the list and planning to enter, to speak up here.

    Croissantine & Die Fugger
    Firemage
    Random_Taffer & marbleman
    Patriarch of Bub
    eepcat
    Jumping Taffer
    Psych0sis
    GORT
    Grandmauden
    Balboa
    redleaf
    Jayrude
    Skejven
    SneakyGuy101
    JarlFrank
    Master of Dromed*
    Child of Endeavour

*Initial entries were disqualified, but may still enter

I see that a lot of the most prominent fm authors are not participating in this contest. Thatís really too bad. After all, Thief 2 was much better game than T1. Oh well! I guess we should just all be happy to have a bunch of missions that will be released soon!

Well, I know of at least two prominent authors who are working on missions for the anniversary but are releasing them outside of the contest due to not sticking strictly with the stock content rule. So there will likely be additional releases around Mar 23 for everyone to play.

I also just added another author to the list who has contacted me privately.

    Amazing!!

@Basso - Keep in mind that some of the "prominent" authors will often times enter the contest under an alias, so the ones you're thinking of may already be on that list.

    Or maybe not!

I think this is a very respectable list of authors. There are some prominent authors and some cheeky pseudonyms, some old legends making a return, a few authors who proved themselves in the TDP20AC, and new authors who (if the previous contest was any indication) may surprise us with an exceptional debut. We have a lot to look forward to.

There's lots of people who share this opinion, me included, but it's funny still seeing people getting so agitated over it, lol

Anyhow, to keep more on topic, i don't think that deficiency of well known/established authors is neccesarily a bad thing, this is an opportunity for a new generation of creators to be given some spotlight and possibly help them advance their skills.

I'm fairly certain Klatremus wasn't expressing genuine shock or showing agitation. Just making a joking remark at someone saying something that's been repeated ad nauseum for the last 20 years.
