Your character is a thinblood again this time around, so it looks like they're riffing off of that.

Possibly because the video game VTM: Bloodlines is recognizable to more people than the tabletop VTM?

Why was the first game subtitled Bloodlines?
You were not a thin-blood in that one.

I'd imagine they're keeping the subtitle because they want people to know that it's a game more like Bloodlines than Redemption.

The footage looks really promising, though.

Hint: you got to pick your clan in the character creation screen at the start, complete with clan powers - thin-bloods don't have clans.

Yup, I know, I did play as a Malkavian, a Brujah, and a Nosferatu all that many years ago. I just had a brainfart w.r.t. the thinblood bit and the bloodlines connection.

I still remember my favorite clan was the Tremere. If the first game had come out a little later, there could have been a FB quiz that tells you what kind of person you are based on the VB:TM clan you like. They had a cool style, laid back, mysterious, outsiders even among outsiders, a focus on magic. Most of the clans were pretty cool.

The 3rd person canned animation sequences are cringe. I am now in the same boat as Jason Moyer a decade ago before DX: Human Revolution came out.

I'll play wait and see on this one. I have no hopes for the game writing, all signs are pointing to it being far leftist propaganda with gigantic SJW Cara Ellison on scribe duties. I.e. the game journalist who clutched her pearls so hard that Hotline Miami 2 was banned in Australia. I dunno about Brian Mitsoda these days either, his wife Annie had fully blown Trump Derangement Syndrome last I looked at her Twitter.

    This review is amazing.

That part where they forced everyone to vote for Hillary or die by the hands of an illegal immigrant vampire were a little too on the nose.

It's a shame a socially inept young white vaguely racist/misogynist dude can't play a videogame anymore without this inclusivity nonsense shoved down his throat. Christ, this game is probably going to try to humanize Nosferatu, ffs.

I'm honestly wondering what the fuck he saw that made him skiz out so. I've watched through the gameplay video twice, and there wasn't a single thing there I'd call out for being political.

Maybe it's just that it takes place in Seattle, and has a few female NPCs in leadship roles that's getting certain panties in a wad? Hell, I dunno.

edit: hold on, there's an 18 minute gameplay demo video I haven't seen. Let's see if I can find a reason to get mad at something.

Imagine playing the original Bloodlines and seeing absolutely no political messaging in it.

Some people are actively looking for things to get upset about.

And they will find something wherever they look.

I remember some YT reviewer going apeshit about the gay Muslim that's apparently a character and he couldn't get over it. I guess there's some inclusive kumbaya going on there, vampires of the world unite, but you can hardly say he doesn't fit: stylish, exotic, vaguely eastern, weird accent, some kind of alt kink... The math does itself.

They've already announced a premium 'blood moon' edition with 2 story packs and an expansion.

Couldn't care less about skins and soundtrack and the like, but holding things like the dev commentary ransom just pisses me off and makes me wait for the inevitably discounted complete edition.

    Anyway, gameplay:

I don't like the 3rd person bits, and the combat does indeed look weak.

And did the player have the look-sensitivity on the lowest setting or something? They always turn soooooo slooooowly, even when in combat!

And it's only a little less than a year away from launch. Hope it doesn't pull a VTMB and launch in that state.

Okay, now try to argue a point without character smearing and ad hominem.

There's a difference between using political under-currents to tell a story or delivering different sides of an argument and letting the player make up their own mind. Most SJW storytellers try to browbeat their audience with a specific message, i.e. turning fictional stories into vehicle for flat out propaganda.

These developers have already said that they'll be taking specific stances on various topics. Whether or not they're just paying lip service to hugely SJW press and will actually let players make their own choices on the matters, we'll see.

P.S. I'm of primarily West Asian descent, Sinhalese specifically. My parents emigrated from Sri Lanka.

Okay, now try taking your own advice. Also, learn what ad hominem is: https://laurencetennant.com/bonds/adhominem.html

Good. Because who the fuck wants to play a game by people who don't take stances on anything.

Probably the silent majority, given that mass-market normie publisher Ubisoft has staunchly resisted to putting partisan political messages into their games despite constant shaming attempts from the vocal minority SJW "journalists". You can't make ALL of the money by potentially alienating a good percentage of your customer-base.
