Yes, that smaller package could be branded as the "lite" version in the case that a user has no interest in other mods or packages. Though I suppose I could make a much smaller setup executable that does it automatically rather than has the user extract data to their Thief 2 directory.

Also, Large Address Aware is, in fact, included. Check the DOC folder. Perhaps it should be moved to the main directory.

Do I need to update my game using this new patcher instead of Tafferpatcher version 2.0.18? Or it doesn't matter if I already have the old version installed and T2Fix doesn't add anything new, just for a new copy installation of Thief 2? I currently have Tafferpatcher version 2.0.18 which I installed way before this new patcher came out.

Cool, thanks! And it would help clean out any possible bugs or issues the game may be experiencing during gameplay. Even though, I havn't ran into any problems yet, this is good, glad to know.

The floating lamps and one paitning that were floating in Masks were not fixed as I can see.
The other fixes seem to be OK, especially like the resized and centered windows in Masks.

Yes, T2Fix has a variety of additions that clean up leftover bugs and issues that Tafferpatcher did not address.

Did you, by chance, forget to restart the mission after you used the patcher? After loading those saves with a freshly-installed T2Fix 1.26, I did indeed observe issues; however, after restarting the mission, those issues were no longer present.

Exactly, and by installing the new T2Fix update, it will make the game more smoother and improved to the best quality and performance gameplay that many Thief fans have been asking for.

Also, after some testing, I can confirm that having LAA enabled for Thief 2 does not inhibit its functionality in a meaningful way on a 32-bit operating system or processor. This said, it is likely that some strange behavior could occur should the 32-bit memory limitation be surpassed, though I suppose that would remain true without LAA as well.

Perhaps then it would be appropriate to enable it by default.

I'd leave it alone for the time being - there still aren't that many mods/FMs that would need this to work properly as far as I'm aware.

Well, that won't be a problem for me because my Alienware laptop that I'm using to play Thief 2 is a 64-bit operating system on Windows 10.

That is true. The only mod that comes to mind that requires it would be the HD Mod, which enables it during setup regardless. Even so, LAA is included should anyone desire to use it.

Additionally, the Lite version is now linked in the first post, though I am looking into making a setup executable to facilitate its installation in the case that a user is unaware how.

I understand some people don't play Thief 2 on a 64-bit operating version of Windows 10 because it can be expensive to buy a high-end gaming laptop with all the bells and whistles, but for those who play the game on a 32-bit operating system of Windows 10, the game will still work, but there are limitations to how performance and quality could be affected because their system can't handle the horsepower compare to that of a 64-bit system that uses more memory and RAM.

I always restart when the fix is contained in a dml.
Just thought that if it was "hardcoded" in the OM there would be no need to restart.
    That´s my fault then.

Ok, this is weird, after installing T2Fix. I attempt to run the game and I get this error message saying: The LG Renderer Direct Show Filter was not installed, and the file LGVID.AX can't be found. What is this and how I do fix this issue?

That's odd. NewDark does not even use LGVID.AX, it uses lgvid.dll to play movies. Did you do anything unique before installation and are you sure you are running the newly-patched Thief2.exe and not some other previously-existing executable?

Additionally ensure ffmpeg.dll, ir41_32.dll, ir50_32.dll, and lgvid.dll are all present in your Thief 2 installation directory.

I was able to fix this error very quickly. The LGVID.AX file was in my Thief 2X: Shadows of the Metal Age folder. All I did was copy and paste the LGVID.AX file from the Thief 2 expansion pack folder into my Thief 2 main folder. I don't know, the T2Fix installation must had accidentally deleted the original copy if it was there before I updated the game. The game was still able to work even with getting the error. But now, when I load the game, the error message doesn't appear anymore.

T2Fix intentionally removes LGVID.AX because it is unneeded with NewDark and can cause issues, unless the Legacy Executables are installed. I imagine there is something else going on here, especially since the game works despite the error. I would like to investigate this more, but if it works for you now, I suppose that is what is important.

I didn't install the Legacy Executables actually because the installation told me, it's not recommended for average players or something like that. Was I suppose to install those executables anyway?

Oh not at all, the Legacy Executables are not recommended unless the user knows exactly what he is doing. What I am trying to draw attention to is the fact that NewDark does not employ the use of LGVID.AX and should, therefore, not return an error relating to it.

In the prior scenario, did you run the game using a shortcut that T2Fix created for you or by another means?

What I did, and should really consider getting rid of is Darkloader, that's how I got the error message to be honest. I tend to use both FMsel and Darkloader for both Thief 1/Gold and Thief 2. Darkloader still works on my system. But yeah, not recommended at all to use. I didn't get the error message using FMsel, just Darkloader. I will have to make adjustments with how I run both games, I know, haha!

Ah, yes that is likely the culprit. Darkloader was made long before the existence of NewDark and it doesn't always play nicely with it as a result, especially with it making a mess of your installation directory when installing FMs. I personally use the built-in FMSel at the moment, but there are a variety of others you can use if you see fit, including one currently in development.

Yeah, true. Cool, what’s the new FM player for playing FMs?

The loader that is in development is AngelLoader. It is not finished yet, but it does boast some very nice features.
There is also NewDarkLoader, which aims to emulate the interface of Darkloader while modernizing how it works internally.

For anyone who is interested, T2Fix Lite is now available in the form of a setup executable. It is roughly equivalent to full T2Fix with only NewDark selected. It does not allow the user to select any additional components, as they are not included, but it does still have the ability to install from the original CDs. It is still highly recommended to use the full version; T2Fix Lite is intended for those who, for whatever reason, cannot use the full version.

AngelLoader is such a cool name! I like it. Can't wait to see when it does release sometime this year or next year.

It will definitely be this year. It's very close to being ready for beta.
