OK, after watching Black Secrit's video I found out that you have to incapacitate the murderer without him noticing....
I still wonder though what was wrong with the classic bj-ing, but, hey... ��

How can I go past the inn after I reached and searched 2nd part of the town? 1st part is completely blocked off and I still need to find some more evidence there

Edit: nwm, had to reload the game, seems you can't return at certain point

If I remember correctly, near inn, in direction of church, is wall. Climb on it and unlock door and that's how you will return to 1st part of city.

Playing on Expert.
I've searched every building for the key. What walkthroughs I could find says I'ts in Harry's House. If so how do you get in there?

Just checked, sorry but bad info in my walk, w/t edited.

The key on the table in Harry's house is Philip's key. Harry's house is in the NE corner of the city and you can pick open the door.

The Baker's key is on the wall by the front door inside the Baker's house.

To get into the Bakery Rope arrow up to a side window near above a cart, down the south side of the Cathedral.

Some brilliant ideas coupled with extreme frustration, like nearly every mission in this series so far.
I keep playing because of the extremely high level of creativity, but without constant reference to the hints provided in these threads, I would have given up long ago.

Add some bugs here and there, though not many, and my irritation boileth over.
I had the experience of playing the last part of this mission in slow motion, as it were.
I used a slow-fall potion to drop down after following the first round of glowing footprints into the hidden quarter.
The potion never wore off!
I was moving very slowly and jumping like I was on the moon. I had already quick-saved before I discovered that was the case, and I really had no patience to reload from much earlier and retrace my steps. I just wanted it over with.
Not the sort of bug one often encounters, and I can see how it might not have been detected in testing. But still!

There is a place in just this mission where this kind of movement is happening on purpose. This happens in Philip S. Low's house, but should not take place near the footsteps you mentioned. I think that this somehow got activated by a "malfunction" of the slowfall potion. Maybe solving the puzzle in that house would have mysteriously cured Garrett in your case. But of course, it's nothing that the player would think of unless he/she had already visited that place.
