    Bin To E

I'm trying to convert some objects to 3ds. But when i try for example "Trophy heads by Elvis" the output .e file is 0kb. Any ideas whats the problem? It usually works fine, but sometimes not.

Those objects look very high poly, which tends to give that program some trouble. The best course of action is to try to contact Elvis and ask if is has it in .3ds format, or .obj etc.

Thanks for that R Soul. I could try that.

Sometimes I have better luck with one of the other two versions of bin2e.

If you're not averse to using Blender, there is an import/export script for .bin files at https://sourceforge.net/p/blenderbit...rter-exporter/
This should help you do the conversion easy enough.

If the new .bin file is too high-poly for Thief is there a reverse-subdivide (rough modifier) function?

Yes, it is called the "Decimate" modifier, though I'm not sure an automated tool could do a good job of reducing polycount, especially for such low-poly meshes that Thief uses. Doing it by hand may produce better results.

Here and there I used ProgMesh to reduce the number of polys in .3DS models.

I'll look into it, thanks. By the way, I enjoyed playing Garrett's Young Years XTra before, although I never beat that one.

EDIT: I downloaded v1.2 from http://lodbook.com/products/. The download didn't exist on another link.
