In my young years I learned to appreciate this scene after finishing Thief Deadly Shadows with the final cutscene...and at this point I was convinced that even if the developer changed, they knew what legacy they are working on. I wonder if one day we will talk about TDS OMs in episodes

    Thank YOU!

Last words from me to you taffers! You can listen to it using the know sources, download it here directly: https://ghqvsl.podcaster.de/download/ThankYou.mp3
    HERE:

    or read it here....

So the year is almost over, on saturday I'm flying home to my family and friends in germany, so i wanted to use the opportunity to thank you taffers for the warm welcome and the reception of our little project.

I had the idea for a podcast about thief for years in my head, inspired by other retro gaming podcasts but was not sure if the idea will be well received and I didn't really have an idea how to do podcasts. I was also aware that something like that takes some dedication and commitment to such a project. But that one night, I was drunk from a party, sitting on my train home while listening to a podcast. The idea of the thief podcast came back to my mind and with the power of the builder, craftsy beeries and this time the experience in podcasting ( I also have a german podcast with my two best friends since 2018) I made the pitch on the forums. And within 2 days Lord Soth and Nex answered me and gave me the impression that they share the same energy for such a project, long story short, some days later we already released our first episode in june. Later Psych0sis joined us regularly after being our guest.

At this time I had a pretty hard phase in my life, i was still recovering from a depression, trying to get back into worklife/life in general and this project was not only a nice distraction from struggles, no, it was like a good feeling. I can only speak for myself, but since this great community gave me so much over all these years, not only great new missions for our alltime favorite game but a good, warm feeling that together you can create things and make the impossible possible. So this project is my way of saying THANK YOU ALL and I hope with Inside At Last we can give a little bit of that back to you guys. My idea was, maybe you can't visit the forums anytime you want and play thief whenever you want but you can have those 3 taffers on maybe your phone, laptop or iPod and listen to them while they talk about not only a game but memories we all share. Details about missions, impressions, thoughts about the lore and maybe once in a while they might have an interesting guest. And this is the point where come to the great personalities that joined us and I'm a bit proud that we not only had already 4 guests in 11 episodes but they were like the creme de la creme.

Psych0sis,you've been our first guest and you gave us a very unique inside view behind the scenes of how to speedrun thief and how much technical knowledge is necessary to make those possible. Thank you buddy and it's so great to have you on the podcast since then, you are the smart guy, the donatello that stops nex and me whenever we talk stupid stuff or assume things without any background knowledge about the engine.

Skacky, you were our first guest author and it was a very honest, reflected and humorous talk about your legendary "Endless Rain" mission. I'm still sorry that I messed up to invite you properly but our good fairy Psych0sis brought you to us magically during the episode. I'm really looking forward to your work in progress campaign

Purah, WOW, that was a treat. Not only took it months to make that happen and to be honest when people said that it would be awesome to get purah as a guest I never believed that it would happen. But thanks to your open and inviting mentality and your easy character we made it possible and yeah, we were nervous and proud to talk to this legend. The episode maybe didn't go all the way as planned but it was still a great view on you as a person and great to listen to.

Klatremus, man not only that you are a fan of us you also gave us the time for our longest episode so far. Planning this with you was so relatable and when we talked about it in july(i guess?) and you said that in november you would have time, it really happened as you said. Thank you for all your support and for being our guest. This was an honour to have your time and great to listen to you even if it meant recording at 5AM! for Nex and me. Also thank you for sharing the episode on your Youtube Channel!

Lord Soth, you have only been part of this for a short time and I don't want to talk about the reasons here, I want to thank you, you've been the first person to respond via message to my pitch and gave me the courage to really make this happen. Thank you and I wish you all the best!

    Last but not least: NEX!!!
Man, you are my guy. Since our first conversation which in parts I recorded I knew: "if I want to do this podcast then with this guy and nobody else". You are the Sherlock, the Batman, THE GARRETT of this podcast, you look behind every curtain and in every corner, find every readable and later you show us all your loot, well organized for us to choose. Not only that I love your personality and enjoy our conversations about thief, culture, mountainbikes and what not, I really appreciate your contribution to this podcast with all your work behind it!
Even if it's just on the internet but I call you a friend

For some of you this podcast might seem like 3 random dudes meeting on discord, talking about thief and recording it but actually it's a bit more than that. Not only that we have to arrange our meetings (especially with guest) over different timezones between europe and the USA. Doing an episode means to do some research, not only replaying the mission as you like but with the episode in mind. Looking everywhere for details, thinking about what the creators might have thought, doing some background research or for special episode like SpeedRun and Ghsoting, watch alot of videos, take notes and bring it all together. There's also the publishing and being active in the community. I don't complain, yes it's work but we love it because we know it's not only for us but for the best gaming community out there.

So thank you every individual taffer that listens to us and responds to us no matter if it's applause or criticism. Thank you!
Sorry for that long post, we wish you all great holidays, merry christmas and a happy new taffin' year!

Also thanks to DOMINUS for creating our Cover!!! visit his amazing artwork sorry I didn't name you in the podcast -.- my fault

I was worried for a minute or two that the latest podcast was going to be a "Thank you Taffers and Farewell", I'm glad I was wrong.

I've enjoyed the podcast from the beginning and would like to thank all those involved for its creation. It's been very informative and enjoyable. Keep up the good work !!!

I hope that this is not the general feeling the people get when seeing this...otherwise it seeks their attention but it wasn't planned

so far...we will continue since we have alot of fun with it I'm honest I would love to have more responses on the forums or youtube or twitter because I think it could lead to some interesting discussions

It's great to see another taffer in "person" that listens to us, considering our download and streaming numbers I'm sometimes wondering why there are so few respones sometimes but maaayyybeeee the forums can help us with that

Really look forward for another episode. I keep the podcast on loop while I am working. What is the next mission you are going to cover? Any plans to cover Thief 3 as well?

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification of your post....

first of all, thank you every satisfied listener is great for us! And yes, that's the idea of the podcast, letting you guys have some thief while not being able to play or forum

Next OM is blackmail, and there are some FMs planned with the authors as guests....and yeah in the background there's always some planning. In february I think we'll be back. Psych0sis was just attending at GamesDone Quick, I had 2 deaths in my family with funerals at the end of january, after that we should be able to focus again

T3 might be a topic in a distant future i guess but as always we keep you informed...https://twitter.com/ThiefPodcast

    Another fine conversation!
Enjoyed this immensely. Now that you have conquered YouTube/Twitter/ITunes et al, would you consider an official TikTok account?

Glad to hear, thank you I personally think that this was one of our best discussions with alot diversity in topics and a good transition between our actual topic and general (thief/game) stuff...thanks to RandomTaffer who really fits into this. And no, we don't consider a TikTok...the risk of a corona infection is to high

The "Godbreaker" episode is the best one yet and I'm only half way through it. You never forget the first FM you played, so "Godbreaker" is very near and dear to my heart. And Supremcee...you often comment how you were/are scared by the zombies in the game. Don't feel bad...I was 33 when I played The Dark Project way back in 1998 and "The Haunted Cathedral" had me pretty darn close to wetting my trousers at times.

Thank you Relayer, I also like this episode with its flow and everything, Rob adds alot and fits in really well, great guy

And yeah, I don't feel bad I think, especially with your example, it shows how intense this game was with its atmosphere so don't feel bad it's just an amazing game and still some explicit horror missions can give you chills. I recently replayed "ROSE COTTAGE"....what an amazing experience so if you haven't played it, try it

Just stumbled upon the podcast yesterday. Exactly what I needed!

Does anyone know how to find the podcast in the Pocket Cast app though? I'd love to have it included there next to my other podcasts but can't seem to find it via the search.

Great that you found your way here

normally you should find it under the normal name "inside at last" (I just installed the app and searched for it and it was at the bottom of the results) or try using the RSS https://ghqvsl.podcaster.de/inside-at-last.rss

The podcast has been a nice distraction so far on my commute to work. I am currently at the "Ambush" episode and like it quite a bit.
The first 2 episodes have been a bit rough but you guys have gotten better at this with every episode.

Thanks for keeping this up, I'm looking forward to the next episodes!
Do you take suggestions for future guests or FMs? I'd love to hear Fen talk with you guys about whatever FM is the topic of that episode. To have Bentraxx talk about his texture and modding endeavours would also be great. I'd imagine Dominus to have interesting things to tell as well. In addition Nexus Letum or theeyeofstone would be worthwhile guests to have (I'm enjoying their YouTube content very much).

    Thank you Aekoric,
if we look back at the first episodes they are kind of a testing area, after the appearence of psychosis I think we found a better foundation. Suggestions are always welcome! especially when it come to none authors or persons that do somethings great thief related stuff but don't actually create missions. Dominus for example created our actual logo and he has some amazing thief related art. This suggestion actually makes me think about the kind of guests and how interesting the view on thief from a personality like him would be!
actually Skacky and Speedrun have been great guests and after Ambush! and Eavesdropping, it gets great again purah, Klatremus, Random Taffer as guests and I personally love the First city Bank&Trust episode. in general i think, we are still building the focus, let's see what happens. your suggestions sound very interesting, with some of them I am in personal contact but for different reasons. so maybe you could tell me in a PM or better at discord Supremcee#7159 about all the personalities and why suggest them so we could find a surrounding and especially do research and find questions.

    Thank you!

Well, you guys are pioneers after all! Trails don't blaze themselves.
There aren't any other podcasts offering what you have. I'm quite content to take the rough with the smooth, as it were.
I wish you continued success in your endeavours. Stephen Russell may well be a future guest, so I will definitely stay tuned.

First of all, thanks for your kind response
according the Stephen Russel topic, I'm pretty sure that you know that there is someone already wanting us (and started organising it) to make that happen

what questions would you guys have if that S. Russel episode would happen? if possible, maybe you could put your questions here >>> OUR TWITTER
