3/4 pics look good but the second pic with vases shadows is messed up on new version ,it removes the angle of how the scene is set, making the shadows go lower then it does in old version
I created a new version of my upscaled and filtered videos for Thief Gold.
Now using ESRGAN instead of Avisynth plugins.
Old videos method was - 320x240 upscaled to 640x480 with nndei. After InterFrame2 15->30fps conversion.
New method - 320x240 filtered with ESRGAN jpeg compression artefacts model. After that 320x240 upscaled to 1280x960 with ESRGAN using manga model. After that InterFrame2 15->30fps conversion. After that downscaling to 640x480 for engine limitations.

Video is much clearer now.
Also I replaced Intro audio track with the version from Eric Brosius lossless soundtrack. Had to mix the Eidos logo sound with this track and match timings. However, I compressed it to vbr high quality mp3 for video purposes ))
No bonus movies for now, don't want to compare Thief Dark Project videos again. Does anyone need that? There are only few different movies with no huge distinction between them.
P.S. There is some noise and aliasing in moving edges due to ESRGAN process specifics - don't know a way to fix that. Maybe MAA2 plugin for Avisynth. Will try it later.
V2.1 version released

Changes: sound was remastered by iTaffer (aka musictaffer) for this release. Previously sound was remastered by Child of Karras. Also both INTRO and CREDITS sound was taken from from Eric Brosius lossless soundtrack. Video is unchanged. DEATH and SUCCESS movies still use Child of Karras versions of the sound.

It's just slightly different frames in time, due to the processing of the filtration and fps conversion its hard to make a screenshot with the same frame. I'll try to catch the same.
Ok, I tried different method of filtering - the result is completely unnoticeable. So the first variant of the ESRGAN mod is the final one.
Yes, there are some aliasing issues in videos due to ESRGAN methods, but it is better that "soap" and full of jpeg artefacts first version of the mod based on nnedi.
Next, I'll do a HD version of the movies (maybe 1350x1080 resolution)

Found some sound synchronization issues, will reupload soon
Fixed. I slightly lengthened video in files B01, B18, CREDITS, INTRO by inserting black frames due to different audio/video length in original movies.
Reuploaded files
Are you decoding the source videos with the original Indeo codec, or FFmpeg's Indeo codec? I ask because FFmpeg's version does not perfectly replicate the original (at least it didn't back in 2014 when I last compared).

I will test at home, but I don't remember to have any graphical issues.
I used DirectShowSource2 or FFmpegSource2 as a decoder. But I can't say for sure until I get home.
The issues are not obvious unless you compare the two decoders side-by-side. The FFmpeg decoder isn't terrible, but as you can see above, it does make some mistakes.
It was DirectShowSource2. I don't know ho to decode using Indeo
This is Media Player Classic vs XviD4PSP 5 DirectShowSource2 decoder (the program I use for video)

I thought this was my HDD having a fart, but audio is doubled at the very start of B01.AVI and INTRO.AVI in the v2.1 version. ^^"
Also I must agree with ZylonBane that the results are slightly different, at least if he means the different color hue on his comparison.
As I said before, gamma is a little bit changed, it's a feature of neutral network.
As for doubled sounds - what decoder do you use? I have Media Player Classic with K-Lite installed - don't hear any sound glitches. I think there is something with it due the fact that this files were merged from two video streams: main video plus a few seconds black screen due to the audio length desync. My thought is your video player/codec behave strangely.
