On Feb. 26th, Trump held a press conference with his Coronavirus Task Force...CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in 60 locations internationally, including in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).
On January 30, 2020, the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee of the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a “public health emergency of international concernexternal icon” (PHEIC). On January 31, 2020, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M. Azar II declared a public health emergency (PHE) for the United States to aid the nation’s healthcare community in responding to COVID-19.

Corona is literally taking NOW every single bed in intensive care units here in North Italy (imagine if South Italy was the epicentre.....a catastrophe! A tsunami in the welfare and care system! )
The severe pneumonia - requiring forced ventilation - rate is MUCH higher that influenza. No vaccine, no real defense, only damage control.
An what about the virus after the symptoms have vanished? Nobody knows SHIT.
Do not look at the deaths (elder peoples), look at RESOURSE STARVATION for every patient (contaminated staff&stuff included) in a medical centre/hospital!

Here, I imagine that things will get worse than they are, but they won't rise to the level that we're all sequestered in our homes 8 months from now, donning our face masks and rubber gloves to dare the outdoors only when we're low on supplies.
Things will probably reach their peak in two months. It'll be on the news 24/7, people will be trying to spin things this way and that, Trump will blame everyone he can, and then it'll start tapering off. Three-four months from now, we'll be on the other side of it. By the time we get to the election, it probably won't even be a campaign issue anymore.

The Dow Jones is already rebounding. It's pretty unstable at the moment, but I don't see it dropping the way it did over the last week.
And if we go under quarantine, and the gun toting end of the world preppers are the only ones even remotely safe, then things have been mismanaged to hell and back.

It makes it pretty easy to see the hypocrisy in claiming that it's Democrats trying to turn this public health hazard into a partisan football.
Don't get me wrong, the candidates are taking shots, not all of them even earned, but right now that's their job and the president's job is supporting the CDC, but instead he's politicizing it.
