Any missions with minotaurs in them?

I have a vague (potentially incorrect) recollection of playing an FM with a minotaur in it. Any tips? I could really use the mesh for a mission I'm working on.

are you thinking of the Trickster?....he marches around looking like a minotaur maybe...other than that I cant recall a Bull type Ai.

Def not thinking of the trickster, though I agree it’s a close approximation.

I might have just confabulated a recollection out of thin air...

Were any of the monsters from "A Journey into the Underdark" a minotaur, or something similar? I haven't played that one recently enough to remember.

On a side note, "Mysterious Invitation" has a monster-trapped-in-a-maze scenario, but it's a giant instead of a minotaur.

Perhaps it’s one of those two I’m recalling! I’ll check and see.

Could it also have been one of GORT’s? Perhaps Smelter Volcano had a some bull-headed baddies?

It’s a nice trickster, but definitely looks very satyr-like. If it had a bull-shaped face, it’d be perfect!

No. I just checked - there were large golden humanoids carrying helmets with long horns in "A Travel Through Smelter Volcano", but neither face nor limbs were Minotaur-ish. They looked just like large humans when close-up, with large horns attached to their helmets.

I'm surprised no one has made a FM with evil clown AI. It's well known most people don't trust clowns and couple of women I've met are terrified of clowns. Dew Drop following Garrett around would be creepy too. I've never trusted that doll. I've just always expected Dew Drop to do something evil - and maybe it does when i'm not looking.

This "evil clown" thing does not work in some countries, where people do not perceive clowns as evil masterminds or Pennywise from Stephen King's "It".

To get a small taste of this, play "Morbid Curiosity". Or maybe "Ghost Town", although that is still less evil.

Thanks, I played Ghost Town. I short and sweet FM. Morbid Curiosity must be a mission pack - big download. I'll have to try it another day.

Not sure how this turned into a thread about evil clowns, but GORT if you could take a shot at it sometime, that would be awesome! No pressure, of course.

I think Constantine would make a great base. Just needs a bull-shaped face

Constantine as a base isn't the best idea if you want him to do much more than walk around - the Constantine model uses a non-humanoid skeleton and so has limited anims.

Ah, I see. Having no experience with modeling/rigging AIs, this is not an issue I would have thought of. The behavior I was thinking is more inline with "Bazil" from The Black Frog, ideally wielding a giant warhammer.

No, Morbid Curiosity is just one (although quite large) mission. It's so large you might overlook Dewdrop's appearances if you don't see the first one.

Maybe the model for the "dogs" in Gaetane's Black Frog campaign (prominent in M3 and also appear in M4&M5)?

OK. I'll try to make one as soon as I can. But yeah, although there are some attack motions for Constantine (ex: casting spells), but I think it would be better to stick with the humanoid biped skeleton. That way someone can create some custom motions for the AI.

There is some horned creature in the basement of the level "Coaxing the spirit"...not sure if it would pass as a minotaur, but it looks a bit like that.

Thanks GORT, much appreciated! I'd love for a hulking, imposing figure, if possible. Ideally wielding a hammer, but I could live with bare hand attacks if a tree beast is the best way to create the imposing size (without messing up movement animations).

Stay tuned - I'm soon to release beta of Dark Animation Tools 2.0, where you can animate Constantine as well. He does have an advantage of having an extra bone in the leg, compared to humans, which is ideal for animal legs.

Has anyone actually created a Dewdrop mesh/AI yet?

I don't think anyone has done this yet, but you might be able to get away with reskinning the scarecrow mesh. I guess the head might be too big though.
