    Thief's Rising 2 : TDS campaign, 19/12/2020

So here it is in all its glory, Thief's Rising 2!

This is the sequel campaign to Thief's Rising, continuing the story of Reuben's rise to master thievery. Set approximately one month after the end of the last game, beginning at his new found home, where the last game ended.

    Downloads
    Get Thief's Rising 2 here!

Or, thanks to Lord Soth, at Taffer's Paradise

Or, thanks to Clearing, at Dark Fate

    Localisation
French localisation is fully supported, with French subtitled videos available as a separate download, here.

German localisation is only about 5% complete as my translator left the project and I was unable to source a replacement. Google translate was used to finish labelling the City Map.

Russian localisation is currently work in progress and will follow in due course.

Videos with English subtitles are available as a separate download, if required, here.

To see the French or German versions of the in-game City Map, you will need the new localisation system that has so far only been implemented in a beta version of the Sneaky Upgrade, which you can get here.

    Walkthrough
Fortuni has done a complete walkthrough which you can get here.

    Notes
Please bear in mind that this game pushes the T3 engine, so lower spec'd systems may sometimes suffer with low frame rates. For reference, the game was beta tested on a laptop with a Geforce 960M graphics card.

I have included the Thief's Rising 2 theme tune as an MP3 file in the Fan Mission Extras folder, which causes FMsel to produce an "MP3 to WAV conversion not possible..." error message when installing. You can ignore this error and install anyway. The FM WILL work properly

This game was created for experienced TDS players and on a number of occasions will force you to play in a specific style.

I hope you enjoy this second instalment of Reuben's continued rise to master thievery. Good luck!

Congratulation on the release Adsk1, it was an honour to beta test this campaign.

This is a wonderful continuation of Reuben's story and will delight all T3 players.

This must count as a Christmas present!

Congrats on the release - the first TR was a blast, so I'm really looking forward to playing this.

I'm sure some of the maps in this campaign must be the biggest by far ever made for T3?

Why do you tell me what to do? Cannot you just ignore this tiny comment? That's simple.
I have my reasons. And I won't take orders from you. And I don't care if you think if this comment "isn't good enough"

Stop that right now! This is a release thread, not a place for you two to bicker and exchange insults. Any more of these comments will be deleted.

    Congratulations on the release, Adsk1!

Have you checked your C:/ ProgramData folder, that’s where you’ll find Thief 3 Sneaky Upgrade if it is already installed and in the T3 folder there is an uninstall.exe

PM snobel if your still having issues, he’s the expert as it’s his patch but sounds to me that your best bet maybe to start with a fresh T3 install and then try to patch with Sneaky Upgrade, I think that’s what I had to do once when SU won’t install.

And yes if your a T3 fan it’s certainly worth trying to get SU patched, it’s a great campaign, Adsk1 managed to cramp in just about everything you could want, from city missions to prison escape, Keepers library to the Maw, thieves highway and even a ship in the high seas.

Ps when you do patch with SU do not install any of the mods, especially the Collective Texture Pack, as Adsk1 said in the OP this campaign pushes the limits of T3 so with the mods +CTP installed you’ll experience ridiculously long loading times.

The issue is that i did all that but apparently the old sneaky upgrade is still somewhere...
I used a few tools to find it and there is nothing.

Apparently this patcher cancels itself when it cant find the uninstall exe.

The patcher isnt designed for a case in which the uninstall is missing.

Can you re-install a clean copy of T3?

Just like the 1st Thief's Rising campaign, it crashes to my desktop when I start the mission. Why is it doing that? I have Sneaky Upgrade installed and I can play the main game just fine. So, I shouldn't have a problem running this fan mission at all. Is there a setup requirement prerequisite of some sort I'm not aware of that I need to do first for this FM to work properly?

I completly cleared thief 3 from my steam folder.
    And all sneaky upgrade.
There is only a trace in the registry now.
    No thief 3 anywhere.

    DOUBLE POST UPDATE

I killed sneaky upgrade by wiping it from the registry too
    I am now installing it!

I did experience a CTD in beta testing in one of the later missions but that was resolved with a new map, however this campaign is heavy on resources so disable all mods including Collective Texture Pack via your SU tweaks, best to play vanilla.

Ps. I've never had an CTD playing TR1, nor ever heard of anyone having one either, Adsk1 is very knowledgeable on these things, he maybe able to advise.

Oh ok, yeah that could definitely be the problem, the mods I have enabled must be something to do with the crashing issue. Both Thief Rising 1 and 2 campaigns will only work if the mods are disabled. I should had thought about that sooner, but thanks for letting me know.
