Thread: Looking for the name of a fan mission? Ask here!

I am looking for a mission for quite some time. I remember it being filled with hard puzzles and several item goals. Quite bizarre, too.
It included a labyrinth where a fairy led you somewhere. There was also a skeleton as an enemy, which you could avoid. And a readable about the "lesser race of creatures", one of whom you could summon somehow, and he could destroy that skeleton for you.
I also vaguely remember a throne room (golden/black) where you had to pixelhunt smth on a wall well above head level, and grab treasure afterwards.
It's T2 or TG, but I sadly can't think of anything else, like date, size or being part of a campaign, etc.

Sounds a tiny bit like the underground/catacombs area of Larry G's "Finals at the Academy". Or maybe one of the "From Beneath the Sands" missions. But none of all these does fit too well.

Mines of Margroth maybe? Certainly fits the hard puzzles and bizarre category.

I believe the fairy in the labyrinth was from mission 2 of "Night Watch."

What is the name of this mission?

    Hey,

This thing scrambles my mind since a week. There was a mission (not sure if Thief1 or Thief2) in which you start in your house, and someone is breaking into (not sure if that was undead hammerite?). You have to be fast enough to grab your equipment and escape through the window.

    Any ideas?

I think that's Keeper of the Prophecies

WE have a dedicated thread nowadays for such question, it's stickied at the top of the forum.

But sounds to me that it could be Events in Highrock a classic t1 mission.

Woops! My bad, missed the dedicated thread :| I can confirm it's Events in Highrock T1 mission, but that Keeper of the Prophecies sounds interesting. Thank You!

Yeah never mind, there's a part in KOTP where you start in your apartment and somehow that came to me. I played too many FM's, and they're starting to fuse into one another...

KotP's first mission, "The Enterprise", starts with Garrett in his apartment, and he discovers that a female who should take care of maintenance required for Garrett's mechanical eye has been killed in the streets just before his apartment. I do not know whether Garrett is attacked then, and there are other missions in the KotP campaign where Garrett has to evade hostiles hiding and waiting for their chance to get a shot at him - maybe there's some confusion there as well.

I also remember a mission where Garrett is at home and discovers that the house is overrun by zombies. I think he has to first get his weapons, and then to make all these undead properly dead. Don't remember the name of that FM, though.

None of both these missions involve someone breaking down the door, though. That's indeed "Events in Highrock".

Looking for one I played a long time ago and only remember vague details of.

I remember it being set inside a dark castle or fort, loads of rooms on each side. You would be search rooms for switches/keys/clues to to other rooms, and eventually enemies would start showing up

I most likely found it on The Circle, but havn't been able to find it recently.

be sure to grab lucky coin before leaving house,so you need to get sword, blackjack both lock picks and lucky coin in room then, blackjack window and land on barrel and off you go

if you fast enough you can do all that before undead hammer gets in door

Looking for a level with an outside area with a pond and two elephant statues I believe. Part of a much larger mission.

I remember reading about fan missions based or being a remake of missions from T4ief. Could that be?

  21. #146
The Chalice of Souls, according to its readme, is "essentially a remake/reimagining of Thief 4's House Of Blossoms mission."

Whether or not there are other FMs based on it will have to be for someone more knowledgeable than me.

Yes, that's exactly it, thank you! The "rat folk" creatures are also there, as is the golden throne room. And just about everything surreal, even more than in other parts of the same mission.
Might explain why I don't remember it quite well, or maybe because it was soooooooo hard to play that my mind chose to spare me some particular memories
I had a lot of fun with it though, that's sure.

Can anyone remind me a name of a recent FM?

It looks like T1, but I'm not sure if it IS T1. It might be T2 made in the style of T1.
It was made in the last few years for some contest (and got a high score there at the poll).
I remember nothing about the plot (I haven't finished the FM, just started a bit and then rage-quit) but the player starts in the inn, walks out in the street (autumn, all is orange/yellow and covered with leaves), and then soon descends underground. Rather claustrophobic and filled with the undead underground.

Well, I'm afraid that is all that I can recall about this mission. Does this ring the bell?
