Yesterday the Blackrose Bank got robbed. Unfortunately, that's MY bank. Someone broke through a
wall in the basement, got right into the vault, and escaped with a good bit of coin.
The Baron has taken charge and sent in the bluecoats to do a full inventory to find out what's
missing. All accounts are locked down until the investigation is completed. I can't have the
government and the Watch looking at my finances, so I need to move fast.
I keep my most valued possessions in safety deposit box #28. All I need to do is get in quietly,
grab my stuff and get out. Sounds like a simple job.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that new_mantle is on (not commented out) in your cam_ext.cfg file under the Thief II main directory.
When you start the game, make sure that under the Options --> Game menu, Attach Ladders: Touch is ON.

i stuck after the first grid
i cannot find how to open the next grid on the left nor the grid to the warehouse or the opposite grid of this grid , where the guard has the key
If you are stuck, the answer is usually a rope arrow.
mission complete on expert 4174/5825,,,6/17 secrets omg where are all the secrets :P,9/10 pockets picked where could last person be?maybe in a secret area?
2 hours 38 min on expert,really good mission ,only one gate i had to jump with box all the rest i found keys or switches to open map up/buildings
i hope someone can do a 100% loot and secret walkthrough as i would love to see it
also thank you so much for adding dewdrop,he was super impressed with mission and the horn of quintus is a nice touch,in all 10 keys

There are ways to climb up on either east or west sides.

From the unpassable gate with the very large box near it pass through the open area to where you have the T intersection, do not turn right go straight.
See that building on your left with a ledge up high? Look at the next building that is adjacent to it - look for a brightly lit window around the 2nd floor level close to the building with the upper walkable ledge. There is a beam just above that window. the wood can take an arrow only from the underside as the wood is sheathed with an iron band to prevent arrows sticking on the side.

A "secret" moves the painting at Chalmers out of the way revealing a box with key. btw the bank can be ghosted without using that key.
Mission beaten in almost 3 hours. I barely completed loot objective with 4018 loot and found only 5 secrets. Mission is quite linear, but it's not a bad thing. Finding paths forward was fun. There could be a bit more loot on street. Loot objective is really hard to complete - I got all loot I could find and just barely completed it. Objectives require a lot of running back and forth. I had a lot of problems with finding something illegal, which as I suspected was connected to key in usual place. But finding this key was really difficult and these 2 places are far away from each other. Same goes with bank and police objectives. Finding path to Chalmer's Apartment was another hard task. I brute forced that by crate stacking and eventually found intended path. Problem is this path is starting in one of first areas. You would expect there would be lever for portcullis leading to this area, but no. This one time you must return all the way to almost beginning of mission. That's really annoying. Another annoying thing was blocking path with unpickable gates with no key to find. You can get there by crate stacking only to find nothing. Really? No reward? Also I brute forced puzzles in Crypt, later I found book, but it didn't give me hint what haunts are good. Is there any hint anywhere or is it just trial and error? Another thing that confused me was finding silver gears. I had no idea I must find them. Yes, there is security book, but it mentions keys. It's not the same as silver gears. So just after collecting all of them I heard Garrett comment and found that was absolutely necessary to find them. Before I thought they are just for some secret or easter egg. Way to be unobvious.
Overall, it was fun mission, but it could be better.

There is a loot to find behind at least two of those unpickable/"no key" gate doors. Only one gate needs two crates to bypass.
There is a book that has the solution to the haunts. "Prime" is a hint in the readable - count the scrolls on the desks where you find some of the keys.
@Galaer - I think you just missed some loot there.You can get there by crate stacking only to find nothing. Really? No reward?
Also @lordhern - the number of scrolls on desks has nothing to do with this.
I'm stuck at the very beginning. How do I open the gate?
The only thing I found was tapestry inside crate behind one of unpickable gates, but rest had nothing. Nearby gate has only basketball, gate near start leads to generators and there is nothing there. There is balcony with drunk noble and also no reward. That's what I'm talking about.
look at the ledge. you can mantle onto the ledge from the stairs - from there to a window and you will find the lever.
gate to generators hides loot items. look under, look up

Great so far!!but I'm stuck in crypt I keep dying going through the colored portals and those jumps to get to them were crazy
pwl here is a tip when you enter warp door color smoke match wisp,so enter when wisp is over by a ledge with next smoke door follow smoke wisp colors to top

Downwinder I got to the top portal now what I have tried to time when the wisps are over the central structure but keep dying This has become tiresome.
At that point you only have to watch the white wisp
