Mission 2
Brigantia have something readable for me . Where is it ?
The readable in Brigantia's room is to the right of the entrance door, if I remember that correctly. I think it is a book or letter on a table or bookshelf.
If it's not there, approach the money in the guest room. Maybe it is somewhere there.
It happens sometimes, AI's occasionally get stuck, wouldn't really be concerned unless there were a lot of stuck AI's in a mission, and if that was the case it may imply your Thief install needs re-installing.
Since the AI's have their arms stretched out, I rather think that it is something non-trivial here. If other newly started missions have such problems as well, I would assume that the Thief 2 installation is corrupt or defective. If not, then re-downloading the campaign again and starting anew might solve the problem, possibly hinting at a bad download.
Apparently it's a problem with my thief 2 folder, i´m having the same problem in other missions. Also i can't use any weapon.
it's the motiondb file that was missing, i have a problem sometimes with files being auto-deleted in my thief 2 directory, it's the only folder in my pc this happens.~
Anyway , everything is working well now,i can proceed with this mission![]()

was i the only person who thought there would be a lawnmower/lonmore easter egg :P
But Pedro!!!Change to AngelLoader for example. Isn't Darkloader REAL old-school?
The problem is Darkloader, your T2 folder being messed up is the symptom, but the cause is Darkloader.
I am, as are most other players.
DO NOT USE Darkloader, it buggers up your Thief install.
You have only one option, a complete new install of Thief.
And PLEASE do not use FMsel, Angel loader or NewDarkLoader with your current Thief install as all you will be doing is carrying over all the crap that Darkloader has dumped into your Thief install and so your old problem WILL persist with those new FM loaders.
Start anew, clean install, new FM loader and please never go back to Darkloader, you will appreciate this advise in the long run.

I remember a time where darkloader used to work well, but i admit for some time this loader is prone to do errors with missions installing. Guess i'll have to stick with fm loader.
Thank you for your recommendations![]()
There is a wide variation in how much trouble people have with DarkLoader. Some can still use it with no problems, others have serious problems every now and then. The main problem with DarkLoader appears to be that if it has a problem while installing a mission, the chances are moderate to high that it cannot uninstall the mission completely, and the player is left with a messed-up Thief folder/directory that is rather hard to clean up. This is not the case with the modern loaders and NewDark, since the missions are not installed in the Thief folder/directory anymore, thus no corruption of that does occur. This technique was not available with "Old Dark", though, so there was little alternative for DarkLoader back in these dark(loaderish) times.
Well, as I said, there is a wide variation in DarkLoader demonity. For me, the language selection does not work anymore, but everything else seems to work normally. However, I only use DarkLoader for testing something here and there. I use the more modern loaders for gaming now, and they work well enough.
DML patch for those experiencing performance problems on the streets due to excessive particles:
this greatly reduces the number of particles used to shroud the streets below. it also enables the normal efficiency mode for these particles and the dust mote particles in some rooms in the mission, so they don't take any cpu time when not visible.
- download from Dropbox
- unzip the files into the FM's folder (e.g. c:\Thief2\FMs\Lonmore-v1_2\)
Does this dml make any difference to the look of the mission, guessing if it massively reduces the number of particles in the shroud then it would. I’m wondering whether to get this dml included in the next FMDML package, but if it significantly changes the look of the mission then probably best to leave it as a purely optional dml.
i tried to keep the visual differences reasonably small: before and after.

Thanks, looks like you did a good job. I’ll ask Beltzer his opinion but I’m thinking it would be best to include the dml in the next FMDML.
