I need a good Holiday themed FM or 2 to play

I've recently heard Christine has made one (or several?) Holiday themed FMs.. think there was another or others?

While we're at it, which of Christine's other (non holiday themed) missions would you recommend I play first?

Yeah, she has some available over on Cheap Thief Missions. I haven't played them in a while so maybe it's time to dust them off. I think that one of her missions has holiday in the title so I can't remember if there are others of her's that are holiday themed. Of course there is always A Thief's Holiday by Yandros. There are a few others too and I think they are listed in the mission thread by type. I'd post the link but I'm too lazy right now.

Haha, no worries. It was Yandros' I was thinking of, now that you mention it. Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten there was a "mission thread by type" as well. I'll go looking for it. I appreciate the help.

There's also A Thief's New Year for Thief Gold but I still can't get the textures to render correctly and get a bunch of solid blue textures.

Thanks for those, mxleader: I'll also check out Thief's New Year by SneakyGuy101 as well, see what I can find out. I don't think I even have TG installed at the moment, but it doesn't take too long.. normally.

Definitely going to check Christine's missions out. Downloaded several tonight, soon as I can finish Rowena's Curse.. I might not ever get that done, though. Missing so much loot on Expert and I haven't patched (with that DML thing) to fix the Horn of Quintus gate bug... so little time.

Also not a holiday FM per se, but there is the demo Snowball Fight! from Yandros as well

If you mean "Have a nice Holiday", it's for SystemShock 2, and it's not a winter mission http://www.southquarter.com/christine/urlaub.html

The Lord Ashton Series has a winter mission (working since more than a year on the update, and I'm still in the 5th mission )
The Night Falcon and the Curse of the Falcon has also some winter missions

The wintry FM Happy New Year Mr. Lambert! has a Xmas-Tree with lights in the house. BTW one of my favored FMs ever.

    Should I wait then?

Hate to put you on the spot, but what is your favorite mission you've made? Which one do you think I should play first?

Also, I see "A Visit to Lord Ashton's" and "The Lord Ashton Series".. Does the 'series' contain the 'Visit' or are they separate?

The "Visit to Lord Ashton's" is the first mission in the series, so go for the series instead.

You can then choose between two versions. Christine's original version should still be around, but there's also a somewhat improved version made by Soul Tear one or two years ago. It has improved shadows and lighting as well as functional Secrets built-in. Worth a try as well. The same is true for the "Night Falcon" campaign, which, btw, has some snowy missions as well.

Ok, I'm sure this is the updated version at thiefmissions since the zip file is titled "..V2" and includes "eight missions".

Glad I asked about the series, since I downloaded 2 of the missions previously. I would have been playing them out of order.

"V2" is the currently latest version of the Lord Ashton Series made by Christine. Soul Tear's version, most likely based on this second version of Christine's campaign, is called "Lord Ashton Rework" or something similar. The file/campaign dates should also show whether it's one of Christine's versions (these are more than 10 years old) or Soul Tears reworked one, which is less than five years old.

I loved that FM, it was so funny, and just a joy to play.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Oops. I should have put my reading glasses on.

I completely forgot that UBA is a Christmas themed T2 mission - My own mission. There's a key that's invisible on a guard's belt that I haven't fixed but you can play through the mission without it.

The Last Lighthouse Keeper by Eternauta. Very cozy, with a light Christmas theme.

I hardcore recommend you "The Night before Christmas". Garrett as Santa Claus handing out gifts gives you the perfect christmas feels!

Good suggestion. I downloaded this and have been playing it today. It doesn't look familiar so I don't think that I've played it before.

There is also a lengthy thread where fan missions are listed by type. Look for the snow missions: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthre...=1#post2475606

Snow themed is not necessarily holiday themed tho.
