I also noticed the change to the movement today. Certainly made it feel easier to get a grip on it, if that's what you were intending.
Good to hear it felt easier! Yeah 4, Stairs & Rails, might be perhaps a tad too hard. I should maybe get rid of the trash cans in the middle. 5 is a big level, but mostly downhill, so I think it's fine.

Regarding what I actually did to tweak the bounce today:
-improved sound effects and made them louder.
-when you hit the ground and have the jump button pressed there's a short slow-down to 60% speed, making it easier to release the button at the right time. This value was previously 80%. I think in the future I'll add an accessibility setting that lets you set it as low as 20%. There's also a Game Speed setting in the Game options, this'll get moved to an accessibility menu in the future. Setting any of these to be easier than the default disqualifies you from the online leaderboard, but you can progress normally through the game otherwise.

The first demo gameplay video has hit youtube!

And oh boy... it's... kinda painful to watch. Guy plays it like he thinks he's gonna DIE if he ever leans left. PLEASE LEAN LEFT DUUUUUUUUDE!

Well, it's obvious what you need to do. If someone never, ever leans left, you need to have a 16-bit sample of your own voice, played loudly, going "PLEASE LEAN LEFT DUUUUUUUUDE!" If he doesn't have a heart attack, he'll remember forever.

New build feels good! It's still tricky, but for the most part it responded the way I expected. My entirely selfish request would be to lower it even more, but as is I feel like I could get better at it.

Also I just realized what the title of the game is. It pronounced "pogopple" (which reminds me of QWOP; seems appropriate) or is it "pogo people"?

It's obviously pogonounced pogopogopogopeepeel, Aja. It's so obvious even the dictionary agrees that it doesn't an entry; get with the pogoram!

However you pronounce the title, I'm not playing any more until we get optional umlauts for the title and get to play a heavy-metal character. PÖGÖPPL 4 LYFE!!!

Haha, it's Pogo People. My mom thought it was Pogoppolis.

Look, I was gonna call it Bounce, until I saw that there's already 4 games on Steam with that title. And probably a whole bunch more elsewhere. POGOPPL might be slightly inscrutable but at least nothing else is gonna show up when you google for it!

Your mom's onto something. Pogopolis is the open-world pogo sequel where you pogo on everything in sight to up your combo multiplier, do high speed chases, and take down riff-raff by bouncing their asses into jail.

What's an open world if you can't climb towers? And there obviously would have to be an upgrade tree.

But you should do this, if only because Pogopolis rules as a title.

Either way it evokes the classic physics-based games of yore, so I think it's solid.

I try to do something new with each game I make, and this one had plenty of new things: level editor, local multiplayer, a proper story. But also for the first time in September Games history I did a proper launch party at the local gaming bar! In the past I've always just sat at home and felt nervous when I release a new game, so it was nice to be nervous in public for a change. We did a Pogo Kombat tournament and I gave away Steam keys to the top 3 players and a 25€ gift card to the winner. Everyone had a good time.

I see some TTLGers have already picked up the game, THANK YOU! If you like it, please do write a Steam review! Getting to 10 Steam reviews is very important because Steam basically ignores the game until then.

I also have a new bundle with all my games up now, if you own some of my previous games this is a great deal!

    Congrats Henke!

Are you planning to release POGOPPL on any consoles?

Oh nice! You know I've always been hesitating to throw release parties for my own games cause I always worry "nah it won't do that well, I don't wanna celebrate yet" or "nah It's not that big of a game, nobody will care." but once it comes together it's actually pretty nice to see your friends come out and support you.

Got any pics from the event you can share? Might be also fun to post as a celebratory Steam Announcement to share with the fans
