No Horizontal Camera Challenge for Thief 2

NO HORIZONTAL CAMERA CHALLENGE FOR THIEF 2

    Played on Expert, Newdark

Time to do this challenge in Thief 2. Rules are simply: can't use buttons to turn left/right. Because of that mouse is prohibited. Using rope arrow exploit to turn is allowed in first run, I'm going to do second run without it on later date. Also I need to be careful about extreme zoom glitch, which I know it also works in Thief 2.

    MISSION 1 - RUNNING INTERFERENCE

    I'm looking NE

I don't have key for garden gate, so I can't mantle back over it when I enter. And I can't steal front guards keys for front door. I will visit this place later. Also I noticed that if I save and load game not too long after Basso going to storage, Basso will go outside for his speech and return inside. Door to basement can be frobbed by looking down.

In basement I can't douse torch, so I halfly open door to generator room, alert guards, return to generator room, quickly close door and KO guards through door, For stationary archer I need to lean left to KO him. In wine cellar servant spot me and started running into me behind me, so I needed to look down to KO him. At this point I noticed that I can push bodies by running into them. For bottles in wine rack I need to jump on barrel. From there I can reach right bottle and need to throw away junk bottles to get to lower left bottle. For upper left bottle I need to do crouch jump to top of rack. Speed potion is too much on the right, so must be skipped. Can't use dumbweiter. For 3 coins on shelf above stairs I need to do strafe right jump from stairs. Wedding rings are are too much on the left, I also learned that they are worth 0 loot. For patroller I need to go behind him until he will turn and then KO him. In servants it's possible to crouch jump on top chest and strafe right to barely highlight chest under it. In storage there is silver nugget that is too much behind me.

On 1st floor are doors that require to get away from them after frobbing them, because they open towards you. I waited in shadow for patroller to go past me and easily KO-ed him. In dining room strafe run left behind patroller to KO him for white key. After looting mansion I went to visit garden and used flashbomb to KO archer. Then took loot and gave signal to Basso. The rest was easy. This mission is a good reminder what I learned during my Thief Gold run.

MISSION 2 - SHIPPING... AND RECEIVING

    I'm looking SE

It's possible to get to statuette in NE crate. First strafe jump on crate, then jump right to higher crate and jump backwards on row of crates. Jump on ladder and do backward jump on edge of ledge. Go to corner and do backward jump on lower crate and take statuette from crate.

On ship I had weird bug that I couldn't attack even after loading, but I noticed that jumping crouching fixed it. Under deck is bottle that requires some careful actions. First throw bottles away, because if you jump on bench they can push golden bottle right beyond your reach. Then jump on bech, crouch and lean right to highlight it. To get out I don't need to stack crates, I can jump on side of ladder and climb it that way.

Building B has hangar #4 with loot on middle shelves. You need 2crates stack to reach them. Using SE window I drop to warehouse and jump right on crates and do crouch jump on chest with rope arrow. Can't open spice crate, because lock is on too much left side. To open door I need to crouch under lock and look up. I can use rope arrow to get high secret. Since this makes it rope long, it doesn't turn me. Only short ropes turn me. Next I use NE window. Here stand on lock, look down, open lock and quickly move forward, so crate will open. Mantle on tiny ledge of higher crate and go backwards for spice. I need to drop crate through left side of W window and drop on it. This way I avoid using slow fall potion. Here you need to stand on lock and open crate without falling. If you fall and crate will get block opened you will not manage to jump on it. To get out from this area you need to perform strafe jump from under stack of crates. This way you will barely manage to mantle on forward crates. Lastly jump on another crates in front of you, mantle and then cancel mantle to fall on ground.

You can only use panel in Main Office for opening hangars in Building A. I can strafe run right to drop from W ledge to get 2nd rope arrow. In Noah Jerm I learned cool trick. If you lean right and quickly jump you will get stuck on shelf. Now you can strafe right to get deeper into shelf and get crystal. For crystal on top of shelf you can do back left jump from stairs. In Lord Porter statuette under counter is too much behind and secret painting is too much on the right. Lucky Salantura's key requires crate. First you mantle on right fence's left edge and do backwards jump on other wooden fence. go backwards and put crate near shelf. From it you need to do back left jump to key. In Mynell lever to spider cell is too much on the right side. To use S elevator I need to press switch and jump on elevator. On 2nd floor block door with potion, use switch and get key. In Gilver I can cut banner with backstab and get diamond by jumping while looking down.

I can't highlight label, so this is bust #1 for non rope exploit run. In this run though I can shoot rope arrow into crate and turn to SW to switch labels. Afterwards i turn myself back to SE. To return to starting point I need 2 crates stack and then jump right twice.

    MISSION 3 - FRAMED

    I'm looking W

Door to sewers is too much on right side and I can't mantle on cistern to get over wall to watch station. So I go to bar to change my direction to NW. I'm going to stay in that direction for the rest of the mission. I can use sewer path now. In basement I halfly opened door and walking slowly into it didn't let me highlight it, but running into it brings me closer to door and allows me to frob it.

On 1st floor in armory I blocked wall with potion to use the same route, because switch opening door is too much behind me. In main office dropping on glass will make it shatter. Vent to archives is too much behind. In training room it's possible to use torch switch by putting crate on left side and doing jump right. I can shoot rope arrow into wooden beam, but it's not possible to use lever on 2nd floor, because it's too much behind. I need to use regular path into archives. For that I need to nudge cop a bit forward. Here I can also open secret path to main office.

I can go to 3rd floor via warden affairs. After jumping out of ladder I need to crouch run around hole without jumping. To use lever I need to go right of it, crouch, lean left and quickly jump. After dousing gas torches I can leave this floor via regular entrance. In reception I need to jump on table to disable watchers and open gate. Secret switch is too much on left side.

    MISSION 4 - AMBUSH!

    I'm looking S

First I KO both guards. Also I save/load to reset women conversation. I KO green woman and quickly run to retrieve other bodies, then I hide on back entrance stairs to KO other woman. Lastly I do backwards jump to wooden ledge at the front of bar, nudge a bit archer to lean left and KO him. Once again I can't get out from starting point. West wall is too much on the right, there are 2 closed portcullis with cops in front of them. I need to turn and the easiest place is inside bar, but door to it is too much on the right and can't slash it, because it's made out of metal. I can't turn on wooden ledges in front of bar and near west wall. Luckily I can use wooden stairs at the back entrance to bar. For that I need to go very close to stairs and shoot rope arrow. I turn SW and I stay that way for the rest of mission. I can't go through window, so I need to drop from SW corner of garden.

The rest of mission is pretty easy. Notable parts are leaning above bridge to douse torches above portcullis with 3 cops, so I can sneak past them, blindly time turning cop and KO all of them. In Helena Way I need to blindly time cop on bridge while also blindly time patrollers. I'm going for big purse in canal and I do loud splash. Luckily guard and noble don't hear it, but they hear me jumping out of water. Luckily I can just escape right without them spotting me. In Garrett's stash I can look down to take key and purse and most of equipment.

    MISSION 5 - EAVESDROPPING

    I'm looking S

Mission starts with the same 2nd alert like in my No Vertical Camera Challenge. First I go left to listen to Karras conversation. Deposit key is in acolytes quarters. To open door to it I use patroller. Go behind him and block door from closing when it's fully opened, then return to shadow. This way Mechanist will not close door. I also wait for him to open door to barracks and quickly KO him. In acolytes quarters is shelf with 3 goblets. To get them you need to go to side of shelf and quickly lean towards it and jump. This way you will get stuck on top of shelf. Look down to pick up goblets. Middle goblet can be taken when doing that from left side of shelf. Also don't bump goblets, because you will push them too much south to grab them.

Wax impression is no problem to get, but key from workshop is hard to get. You need to jump on metal shelf, crouch and creep left on edge. When you start falling you run right to stay on edge. Slowly move right to lean right for key. Sadly it's the same key I got from barracks. Also door to catacombs is too much on the right. From in front of barracks I can open west door leading outside by looking at it from away. I guess my direction of looking isn't perfect south. Still this doesn't allow me to enter catacombs, lab and NE tomb.

Right now I returned to starting point and decided to climb to east tower. First douse torch, then shoot rope arrow into left side of wooden beam above balcony to mantle on it. Drop on balcony while Mechanist is turned away to KO him. Jump on table to open right door and wait for patroller to KO him. I can climb ladder to top and do strafe jump left on top floor (don't do it from top of ladder). Return to 2nd floor and go forward to KO stationary guard. Here is patroller who opens south room and door to roof. I will go later to south room using him from west tower. For now use him to open door to roof and KO patroller from there. On roof is key and bottle on shelf. Bottle is too much on south side. As for key you need to do lean+jump technique. Drop on west roofs to return to starting point.

Time to go to west tower, so douse torch and shoot rope arrow into right side of wooden beam above balcony. My climb was interrupted by patrolling bot. I thought it has patrol route on west side of cathedral, but apparently it can patrol around the whole cathedral. I hid in shadow and quietly go left across metal to finally douse it's engine on east side of cathedral. Then I KO-ed patrolling Mechanist walking the same route as bot and finally went up to west tower to deal with Mechanist, open left door from far away and get loot from top of tower. Wait near stairs for patroller to open both doors to south room. Block them from closing and KO Mechanist. In south room is chest on middle floor. Since I don't want to turn I shoot rope arrow into top floor and climb for chest. Can't climb to arrow, so I abandoned it.

Go to 1st floor to church. For some reason conversation doesn't start and front door guard looks towards doors. Other Mechanist is near door to catacombs, so I go to KO him and female patroller. Then go behind front door guard, look down and KO him. 2 goblets under book are too much south to be grabbed. Door to catacombs is too much on south side. I return to west tower to drop on ladder and descend to 1st floor. This doesn't work in east tower. Instead you must drop on crate.

I learned that I can open SW tombs by jumping while looking down. Since I'm close to loot requirement I decided to drop wax impression on metal at starting point. I also unlocked front door to cathedral. First I go to lab. I can unlock it's door by jumping while looking down, but door opens towards me while I'm in air, so I block it. But servant is alerted, walks through door and close it. He doesn't see me, but after reload he runs back to lab. This is my chance to block door from closing and KO servant. I can frob secret lever by jumping on sink, drop on it's edge and jump while looking down. I can also get tiny ring without getting hurt by flies. NE tomb can by opened by jumping while looking down, but you need to be close to hinges.

Time to return to SW tombs and descend to catacombs. I can't use ladder or rope arrow, so instead drop 2 crates while leaning left from sarcophagus and drop on them while haunt is away. Hide and go behind haunt to south room to hide near sarcophagus and kill haunt. In torture room I used invisibility potion to backstab haunt walking towards me. I can't use doors to get out (can't use jump technique, because of ledge above my head, bumping into them pushes me away from door). So I need to use ladder shaft I used to enter catacombs. For that I need to do 2 crates stack under ladder. Jump on it from left side and drop 3rd crate on torch. Go for 4th crate and return on stack. Look down, drop crate and jump. Jump again to gain ability to crouch and grab crate from torch. Look down, drop crate and jump. Go behind and jump forward to mantle to tomb.

Unfortunately wax impression vanished from starting point. I was worried about that. Luckily I can just return to workshop and make new one. That was really fun mission. Done without turning exploit.

MISSION 6 - FIRST CITY BANK AND TRUST

    I'm looking NE

I can't use switches in basement to unlock vault, because they are too much behind me. On 1st floor in center corridor is light switch that I can turn off by positioning on it's left side, mantling on it and frobbing it while looking down. On 3rd floor is goblet on cupboard that I get by leaning right and jumping. Turning off watchers in reception was easy. I noticed that after reading note from archives new guard spawns in front of NE entrance to bank. In the same room there is low light switch behind me - jump while looking down to frob it. In east office I can look down to drop crate under coin stack shelves, then lean left for couple of coin stacks on lower shelf and lean left + jump for couple of coin stacks from higher shelf. To get to orange key you need to do backwards right jump from top of stairs. In corridor south from vault I KO-ed knight and hid him in corridor. Later alerted bot came and got stuck on body with cannon inside wall. I revealed myself and bot killed itself without harming knight's body. Can't disable watcher near vault, so I use fire arrow to explode it.

I can't open vault, but there is easter egg for it activated after 8 hours from starting the mission. and it will happen in 6 hours 30 min. During this time I decided to bring all crates from basement here in case they will be needed. This took me over 1 hour, so now I need to wait 5 hours 15 min. So time to mute sound and read good book until it will happen. When 8 hours happen vault unlocks and I enter to destroy 2 watcher. T use elevator I need 1 crate to jump from it on top of switches. Lean forward to bring elevator down and then press "up" button and drop on elevator. Getting recording is easy, but when returning to elevator I realized a problem. I can't use elevator switches and dropping on ground hurts me. So I jump towards east ledge, mantle and cancel mantle. Then just exit from bank.

This was the most disappointing challenge so far. I expected this mission to be super fun, but challenge was rather bland. And waiting many hours for vault to unlock was super boring. Luckily mission is done without turning, so I don't need to return to it in the future.

    MISSION 7 - BLACKMAIL

    I'm looking E

Starting point is tough. I start mission with crate. There are 2 watchers above gate to mansion, in front of it is stationary cop and there is also patroller on street. You can't go over left wall or use window on the right. You can rope up on wooden beam, but roof is slippery and you can't get on right side. Plus you will get spotted by watcher and turrets will start shooting at you. Instead you need to time watcher and 2 patrollers (one blindly behind left gate) to use left lever to go through left gate. Go along wall to KO stationary cop, hide his body and KO patroller. In house there is bottle in kitchen too much behind me.

Next step is luring cops from starting point by jumping on street near gate. Watcher saw me and turret shot me with cannon. It missed, but noise alerted cops, so I used flash bomb to KO them. Now I need to go along east wall to big gate. Watchers will see me and activate turrets. Now you need to continuously do backwards right jumps to avoid cannons and hide in right alley. Here is wooden beam to rope up. Again watcher will spot you, so quickly jump right on slippery roof and safely slide down on ground. Cop spot me, so I hid in corner and when he turned around I KO-ed him. Here is light panel that also turns off watchers. That was very hectic start of mission.

In this house I noticed that I can climb on ladder despite it being on right wall. House at starting point has problematic entrance that is behind you. Door can be bashed by overhead swings while looking down, but door opens towards you, so after it opens you must quickly move forward. Also open big gate leading to mansion. Otherwise you will not manage to return to starting point without crate stacks. Door of abandoned house can be bashed with regular slashes. It's possible to get to cemetery by doing lean right jump. While you hold lean button strafe right to the end and then jump right on 1st rock. To get out you must continuously jump left. I can't go backwards through tunnel, so I must continue to canal and to outside of mansion.

For gate levers that are behind you you can frob them by doing lean jump. In basement I encountered again bug with attack button (solved by pressing crouch button). On 1st floor I end with bashing even more doors. To get out from fireplace secret I can again easily climb ladder on right wall. South door leads to plant room. Here I discovered another way to open side door other than by bashing. It's possible to frob it with lean jump towards it, but you need to be positioned slightly away from door. It doesn't always work (it doesn't work on bathroom door on 2nd floor). Gear lock requires putting one crate on the left of lock, jumping on it and doing lean jump. Prepare gear, jump again while you still hold lean button and quickly use gear on lock. You have only split of second to do it.

2nd floor has more door bashing and lean jumps to open them. You can normally open double doors on the side. Go to it's west part and look slightly down to highlight east part of door (some times you need to run towards door to end close enough). In game room secret necklace is too behind. Plus crouching and jumping under crayman trophy leads to permanent stuck.

In Truart's room on 3rd floor is closet door behind you that requires overhead swing to open and move forward to let door open. Here you can rope up to attic for 2 crates. Bring them to room with loot on fireplace. Put stack on left from fireplace and jump on it. Crouch and lean right for plate and goblet. Since I want to complete bonus objective I'm going to skip keyring for now and use Truart's body as a cushion to fall on ground outside. It's harder to squeeze through tunnel with body. Lean jump on 1st rock and strafe right is super slow, but I noticed that I can immediately jump right on rock. After putting body into grave I return for keyring and use another cop's body as a cushion and return to starting point.

MISSION 8 - TRACE THE COURIER

    I'm looking W

I got 6 pickpockets very early this time - just in marketplace while following Mosely. When following Pagan I went south too much and he spot me and went into search mode. Luckily I managed to escape north and hide behind corner. 2nd Mechanist from house is more sensitive and I need to close metal door and leave it in halfly open position, so I would KO Mechanist through door. I can't frob NW tomb door, so I must skip goblet from there. To get to north part of cemetery I need to mantle on metal fence from tombstone and do backwards left jump on higher fence and continue north to drop on hammer statue. NE tomb requires looking down and going forward when door opens. Lure zombie out and kill him to get loot. Then jump into portal.

First problem is getting out of river after grabbing ruby. There is no vine arrows to get out from river. The only way out is near waterfall, so you need to strafe swim backwards while standing on bottom ground under river. You also need to resurface for air. Do it after getting behind corner of trees or rocks to not swim too far forward. Going through portal changes your direction of looking to west.

Sneaking is still easy, so I complete bonus objective while KO-ing all apes and easily finish this mission.

MISSION 10 - LIFE OF THE PARTY

    I'm looking W

    CITY

Two side windows at the beginning I must skip, because there is no way to return on higher roof without crates. In knight house I wait for him to open door and KO him. Then I do overhead bash of door behind me and move forward, because it opens towards me. Can't get healing potion, because lean jump on stool with plant pushes me in opposite direction. I can jump right on ladder to descend down. In archers tower to my surprise I can climb on ladder behind me. Go through window and drop on ledge. From here going left will make me stuck, so I need to go right and mantle on walls of Fieldstone Estate. Here I lure out patrolling inside knight and KO him. For some reason knight gets pushed couple steps away before falling down. Then do overhead bash of door behind you with going forward at the end twice and slash final door to get loot. I can't get out from abandoned house, so I skip it.

Go right on roofs and drop to apartments window. Open top door to create battle between guard and 2 thieves. After fight KO guard through door. In elevator shaft I can climb left ladder. To go forward I must climb right above higher floor, drop on it and jump backwards. In Necromancer's Spire I can't get invisibility potion or get out from torture room. To move crates up I can drop them on elevator switches, pick them and quickly drop on elevator. Rothchilds purse is too behind. In Cullen Castle I should let archer to open entrance door, but I KO-ed him. So I slashed door, which alerted guard, so I used flashbomb to KO him and continued to slash door. There is no way to get out from Carlysle Castle and glasshouse, so I skip them.

I broke glass windows on roof and KO-ed alerted knight, then I vined up back to roof. I didn't realize it earlier, but vine is short enough to turn me. I try to avoid that by crouch jumping on it. Much later I noticed that unfortunately I managed to turn tiny bit. Most of objects works the same, but not every. Some side ladders can now be climbed and some cannot. Double doors on left side are easier to open, because this tiny turn is towards south (on the left). But difference is so small that I continued my run without correcting my direction.

In bank I used 2 moss arrows on marble floor in room with 3 metal doors and hid in NE corner. I went behind patroller into office, then around him and KO-ed him. Safe is too much on the left. I also learned that if you look max up/down and try to do forward/backwards strafe run you will only strafe left/right. Here I noticed that I can't open metal doors and I can't continue. So I reloaded my previous save, mossed floor in 3 doors room and hid in SE corner. This time I want to leave east door open and hide behind right door. When cop will go on balcony go to left side of double door. When door will open go backwards and left to quickly KO surprised cop. Hide behind column to avoid being shot by archer and try to KO him. I made so much noise that archer on opposite balcony started shooting me. To continue forward I must bring 2 crates to balcony and do stack to climb on right ledge. Archer calmed down and also turned around. So I can jump left on edge of wooden beam to slide on balcony and KO him.

I can mantle on bank's roof and go left to roof near apartments, then drop on tower and blindly time archer to jump left on his balcony and KO him. Here I have a choice: Shemenov Estate or astronomer's house. I chose Shemenov Estate. I slashed door, which alerted patroller, but he was floating above top of stairs, so he was easy to KO. I bashed more doors, but can't get to bank. Here I learned how to do lean jumps. The same jump I used to get with Truart's body to cemetery in Blackmail. From crate I can lean right jump, keep holding lean button, strafe left and jump right. Since I didn't find any loot in estate I reloaded previous save.

To get to astronomer's house I needed to slash window and climb left ladder, then moved all crates to knight's house To get back to starting point I need to do 3 crates stack. Both side windows at the starting point don't require crates to get out. I just need to do newly learned lean climbs. For left window I do lean right jump, strafe left and jump right. For right window I do lean left jump, strafe right and jump left. Archers tower has archer turned towards window, so I mantle there from higher roof, then do forward left jump on opposite roof to get goblet. To return I vine up to window (crouch jump to not turn) and climb on roof, then do backwards jump on archers roof.

I realized that I don't need to use crates to go to north from bank roof. From tiny ledge near edge of balcony or near window I can do lean climb. 2 crates stack I move under wall near Keepers window, so to return on higher roof I need to climb on crates and do lean climb. After Keeper is gone metal door will open. Block it with potion, because after entering corridor it's possible for door to close and you will get stuck there. Go past suite. Here is machine. From pipe you need to do forward right jump and mantle on other pipe and from there do backwards right jump on top of machine. This alerts guard. Jump right, use flashbomb and KO him. I can't use right ladder, so I need to move crates from here.

I need 3 crates from apartments. I managed to do ladder climb in elevator shaft with crate once, but next times it doesn't work, so instead I vine up to wooden beam near Fieldstone Estate to get on apartments roof and on lower roof. To return on higher roof I perform running lean climb ( I can hold lean button while strafe running, which makes this technique easier to execute). To get to Angelwatch you need to put 3 crates stack in stairs formation. Here I made mistake and dropped down to Angelwatch without dropping down any crates. For most of my run I was worried that I will not get crates to get out from Angelwatch area.

    ANGELWATCH

From now bashing will not help, because all doors are metal. I can frob door on 2nd and 3rd floor by jumping in place, but they open towards me. I tried to do lean jump to open them, but it's very finicky and ledge above door pushes me away. I can't climb to 4th floor, because ladder is too behind. I can't get out from Angelwatch, because hatch is in my way and I'm too low to do lean climb. So I'm stuck. I opened door on 2nd floor and lured patroller. So door is opened, but covers passage. I can't use it and patroller will go through it without opening it, so I need to frob door again to close it. When Mechanist will open door use flashbomb and lean right to KO her. Safe is too much on the left and barracks too much on the right.

I can't ride elevator, but I can drop on stone beam to get to 1st floor, but first i drop bot's part and crate down and make stack from them, so I will mantle back up. Vine arrow into ceiling allows me to mantle up, but mantle quickly get cancelled. After looting this floor use west slope and from top of it mantle on west beam. Stack healing potion and explosive device to lean climb on beam with stack. From it mantle on 2nd floor.

On 4th floor I noticed that small bot is walking to barracks on 2nd floor. I went after him to open access to crate storage. Wine cellar stash is too much on the left and east room is too behind. On 5th floor safe with Builder's Scripture is too much on the right. I also finally completed loot objective. I can open closet door, which opens towards me, by lean jump and releasing lean button after frobbing. In the same way I can open kitchen door. In closet I can't press secret switch - too much on left and behind. This means I will not manage to turn off safe's alarm. For equipment in secret stash I need crate. Go behind servant to open door to dining room and KO him. Office door can be easily highlighted, but if you are perfectly looking west you can only highlight it by slightly looking down. To open north room I alerted noble inside and block door from closing. He ran to 2nd floor, so I KO-ed him there. Since I will leave Angelwatch with alarm I started putting crates for escape. I need crate under hatch to do lean climb and then do 4 crates stack and backwards jump to return on higher roof.

On 6th floor I destroyed small bot with fire arrow. This also pushed harp away. On 5th floor Builder's Scripture is too much on the right, so I turned NW to take it (no rope exploit bust #1). After reading it I turn back to perfect W. Then turn on alarm in Karras office. Mechanist speech is coming from alarm lamps. Blueprints are too much on the right, so I turned SW to take it (no rope arrow exploit bust #2). Afterwards I turned back to perfect W and left Angelwatch.

    ESCAPE

Go east towards Angelwatch and then drop down along north side and KO Mechanist. 2nd Mechanist observing suite window from far away can be ignored. 3rd Mechanist observing street near bank is easy to KO. From bank's roof go to astronomer's house. Here I learn that with perfect W I can't climb left ladder. So under west part of hole I make stack of 3 healing potions and flare to mantle up. Final Mechanist near the start is the hardest. 3 crates stack I made earlier I need to move more south and then do backwards jump to go along south side and KO him. Then finish this mission at the top of bell tower.

    MISSION 11 - PRECIOUS CARGO

    I'm looking S

First problem is climb in elevator shaft. Use left tunnel. First you do lean climb left and backwards jump on higher ledge, go right. You need crate to do another backwards jump. You can jump left to reach vine and gas arrow. To climb higher you must reach higher vine. For that you need to do 3 crates stack under vine and jump to reach it. Then jump quietly on rock, go left, do backwards jump, jump on vine and climb into tunnel. All without being spotted by watcher. Time to disable it and KO Mechanist. Ride elevator to the top and jump left on grey rock. Go backwards along right side of ground slope (I noticed that alerted Mechanists can use it to descend to you). Climb up under stationary Mechanist, look up and lean left to KO her. Take body. You can't drop it, so go around ground slope again while strafing left occasionally to not slide down and drop body on grey rock. Climb to the top and hide under metal slope to KO patroller.

To get to house I decided to vine up to hole above Mechanist looking through window. I can climb ladder behind me leading to attic, but there are side door on my way and in this mission lean jump doesn't work to frob them. They are wooden, so I can slash them, but first I need to deal with Mechanists. First I jump in room with hole to lure Mechanist from below, then slash right door to KO Mechanist from right room. To get navigation globe and enter lighthouse I need to slash wooden doors. It's loud and looks like priest at the top of lighthouse is fully alerted because of that. I can climb right ladder, but I can't mantle to top floor, I need to jump there from top of ladder. Priest spot me, so I run along right side, he's after me, so I gassed him. The rest is easy until pirate base.

In area #1 watcher switch is too behind. Luckily watchers aren't any problem in this mission. On roofs of old pirate base I need to time 2 stationary Mechanists to look away and quickly go to left guard, lean left to KO him, go right to 2nd guard and lean right to KO him. Pirate treasure and Builder Codex both needs one breath potion to use. Equipment stash requires lean climb and stacking 4 potions to jump backwards on shelf with mines.

In area #2 I can do lean jump to grab flashbombs from shelf. Getting to submarine is tricky. You can't mantle from underwater entrance, because of hatch and on deck both hatches are too behind. It's possible to open south hatch from above, but the problem is patrolling diver. I tried to scare him by attacking him with sword, but he never runs away, so I'm forced to quickly mantle on north viewport, on roof and drop on hatch to frob it and hide inside. I need to do it quickly, because otherwise diver will spot me and attack me. Then you need to open floor hatch while moving forward to not block it. For whatever reason diver refuse to go to this small room even if he can see you through viewport.

Below is patroller. Wait for him to go north and go behind him to block hatches from closing. KO him. You can open last hatch behind you, because wheel is on your side. I can frob storage #5 while standing in front of storage #4. But I can't frob left door leading to captain's log. I almost gave up, but I remembered that enemies can open doors too if I lure them towards them. So I reloaded and went behind Mechanist to block hatches, then used broadhead arrow to lure him to open captain's door and KO him, but in my rush I didn't block one more hatch and I was forced to reload again. This time I went all the way behind patroller and dodge him from right (I need to crouch run to go through metal floor in doorways. Open hatches and lure Mechanist to open door again and KO him. This way I managed to read captain's log without turning.

    MISSION 12 - KIDNAP

    I'm looking W

Stationary Mechanist when he turns head left can see what's on his left side. For whatever reason big metal door were smaller and were levitating. I used lean jump to frob switch opening hangar door to KD complex. In Site #4 secret lever is too much on the right. To get to Site #5 from Site #2 I made 2 crates stack to jump from it on top of wooden ramp (lean climb doesn't work, because Garrett tries to mantle instead of jumping. In Site #5 I blocked double doors with 2 potions. Then I blindly waited for watcher to turn left and ran to niche with broken stairs past it where I waited to KO patroller. On 2nd floor I waited in east niche for Cavador to KO him and then gas his bodyguards. In Site #6 I can frob "up" elevator switch by crouching and continuously strafing left and right to get a drill. East from Site #1 I mantled on gas torch and did backwards jump to easier get to Site #9.

MISSION 13 - CASING THE JOINT

    I'm looking W

Secret switch is too much on the right side. I can't use front doors, because there are guards near them. The only way is through window on terrace, but getting there is tricky.. My first idea was to put crate on ledge of pond and do 2 crates stack on lamp to lean climb on outside wall. This way I could get to wall west from terrace, but backwards right jump couldn't reach it. My second idea was doing 3 crates stack near south front entrance to lean climb above it. Putting crates on each other alerts guard and lean climb is hard. Then you need to do backwards right jump on terrace and sneak to SE corner. I mossed floor near window, leaned right and broke it with blackjack, then shot noisemaker arrow into SW corner of terrace. Guards would go there, but one would return to window, notice it's broken and then go to SW corner. Jump backwards through window and jump over counter. One time I got spotted by guard, but it didn't fail ghost objective. I was surprised, but I reloaded game.

In music room I can press secret switch on left wall from far away and inside secret passage I can do the same with right switch. Switch to library is too behind me though. So in mansion I use lean jumps to open doors and also I slash them with sword. In ballroom I can vine up to wooden beams to return to 2nd floors. From wooden beam I need to drop on ledge of beam and then on metal railing. The best is to do it by holding creep button. Also lean jumping on metal railings will push me away. I need 2 crates stack to escape from NW storage from under stairs. To get out on ballroom's floor from storages I can do crouch jump from crate on metal railing and drop on floor below.

To get to library I need to crouch walk backwards along right wall and douse gas torch above me. Here is clock and I can open secret passage to 3rd floor. In front of library door I mossed floor and did hard lean jump to open door with going right to avoid immediately blocking it. In library everything is easy to get except west book. Since in next mission it will be the same direction of looking I can deal with this problem now. For that I need to use wooden ceiling to turn NE to frob it (non rope arrow exploit bust #1). Then I turn back to W. I also noticed that in this run I spawned Laura a lot more than in my previous runs. I wonder if there is any order of reading books.

On 1st floor in NE stairs room I can frob secret switch by jumping on column, crouching and leaning right while looking down. This completes getting all secrets objective. I was forced to skip 2 secrets in south part of 1st floor as I can't reach switches. On 1st floor in SE office it's possible to frob coin on plant stool by lean jump and quickly taking it while you are getting pushed away. In church I need to moss floor in front of window, because jumping there fails ghost objective. To frob coin I need lean left and jump in place and quickly take it. If you miss it you will need to correct your position.

For exit I use secret passage to 3rd floor and nudge guard into NW corner. For that you need to move slowly or else he will spot you.. Douse gas torches and go to corridor. Vine up to ceiling instead to wooden beam to avoid turning. Drop in right room and go to window. You can't fully stand on it, so you can't use weapon to break it while on it. You can however use blackjack while looking down and then quickly do backwards jump towards window. Creep outside to finish this mission.

    MISSION 14 - MASKS

    I'm looking W

I can mantle on secret switch, but I can't frob it. Also I checked and secret entrance still counts as secret for whatever reason. For entrance I use overhead swing on NW door. Just like in previous mission here too I do lean jumps and slashing to open doors. Lean jump is less useful, so I use slashes more often. NW stairs on 1st floor has chest under stairs that is too much on the left. On 2nd floor in NE guard post guard only stands and go after you if he will spot you. Otherwise he will just shout that he heard you, but not move from his chair. I found secret switch to corridor passage near turret and I can use it by lean jumping on turret and staying on it (which is tricky) and looking down. To get out from south storage to ballroom's floor I go left on terrace and vine up to ceiling in front of wooden beam, then jump to get pushed by angled ceiling right and mantle on wooden beam. On 1st floor I can lean forward from far away to frob secret switch in workshop. This also counts as secret, so I checked my stats and I have 5 secrets instead of 3. Looks like secrets missed in previous mission get transferred to this.

On 3rd floor switch opening stash with chest doesn't count as secret for whatever reason. In NE corridor I can't reach secret switch. I do that from security room on the other side later and there I use noisemaker arrow to lure away guard pursuing me and KO him. I can disable 2 trap locks, but not the one in SE corner. To get to these rooms I first shoot vine arrow into ceiling to get to wooden beam and go to these rooms. There I drop on east wood paneling. Here you can drop on marble floor (it doesn't trigger trap) or jump on carpet and quickly jump and mantle on 1st pedestal. Jump on 2nd pedestal and jump+mantle on 3rd, then jump on marble floor and mantle on west wood paneling. Here I need to do lean climb on wooden beam, but I mantle into passage. Since lack of space my mantle get cancelled and I drop back on wood paneling. To avoid mantling I equip blackjack and use it to block. This prevents me from mantling and allows me to lean climb on beam. Escape is through window the same like in previous mission.

MISSION 15 - SABOTAGE AT SOULFORGE

    I'm looking NE (almost N)

    START

I can frob right side of exit door behind me, then I hide bot parts in shadow. I opened N Apse with secret lever by leaning left, but now I can't get out. Ladder and lever are too much on the left and entrance hole is too high. I needed to stack 2 potions to mantle out. I returned down with body to collect potions. Body drops through lowered platform, so I put on it scouting orb first and then threw on it body, jumped on it and mantled out. I can't get plans for Regulating Round. After leaving room I go south and wait for small bot to open left door for me. Later I found that I can also open right door behind me, but not left door. Next are storages. It's possible to open doors by running towards door to get as close as possible, look down, jump and quickly use lockpick. After every jump you must move away from door and then run towards it again, because jumping moves you a bit away and game doesn't allow you to get as close as possible to door immediately. It's really slow process. For 2nd storage I need to moss floor to not alert combat bot with my jumps.

    GUIDING BEACON'S PRODUCTION

Bay C requires you to mantle on machine and lean climb to the top of it. In Bay A the only tricky part is dropping steel plate into slot from top of machine. Then I go to secret entrance to Bay D. Here I shoot noisemaker arrow towards ladder leading to bridge and disable bot to get to door. In passage I climb to top of ladder to do backwards jump to Bay D.

First I need to drop bantam node and gauge to slot of linking machine. To get to it you need to lean climb to south ledge and jump forward to mantle on top of machine. Dropping gauge into slot is weirdly difficult. Afterwards vine up to right side of ceiling vent and jump to ledge. 2nd door behind you can be frobbed, but if you are too close it will not open even though it opens into opposite direction. This will make door unfrobbable for you. That's why right after unlocking door move forward. Getting parts into sealing machine is easy, but I didn't notice that combat bots got alerted and I almost died from them. Good thing secret entrance was close. After they calmed down I needed to wait a bit more for small bots to calm down, because they can see me and alert again their bigger brothers. After creating final stage piece. I almost forgot that I can use newly opened passage to get out and use it to go to Bay E.

Here I need to be careful of watcher and climb ladder to the top, then go on metal beam to the end of shadow. Can't go forward without alerting watchers, so I dropped down and threw frog egg to avoid damage. This destroyed one small bot and damaged other. I was also too slow to get out and watcher opened stashes with 2 combat bots. I hid under machine. 2 combat bots were alerted for very long time. Finally one of them returned to guard entrance, but other bot didn't calm down. So I shot noisemaker arrow towards slots and disabled it. I easily made guiding beacon and lean jumped to frob escape lever. I went to N Apse to install guiding beacon.

    SIGNAL TOWERS

1st tower is here, but I can't climb ladder or vine up. So I need to stack parts, but they behave like flares, so if I have more than one in my inventory and drop it down it flies and I got stuck into it. So I would need to make 2nd stack in front of me for parts to use in my stack and I have no idea if I have enough parts for that and it feels very tedious. So I decided to learn how to use flare elevatoring. So basically you need to look max up (sometimes look up button doesn't bring view max up, so press it couple of times to be sure). Then you drop flare on your head, jump once, drop 2nd flare on your head, jump again and look down to pick up lower flare. Then you look up, drop flare and look down to pick up lower flare. You need to repeat the whole process many times, but it works. Flare elevatoring is very powerful exploit, so I'm going to use it as a really last resort. Lastly jump forward to mantle up. To return you can descend via ladder.

2nd tower is one with conveyor belts on the side. I KO-ed 2 Mechanists, but switch for elevator is too much on the left side. You would say it's time for flare elevatoring again, but elevator is at the top, so it won't help. I mossed floor near switches and disabled combat bot to take it's part I dropped it right from switches, jumped on it and lean left jumped to activate "down" switch. The same I needed to do with "up" switch.

3rd tower is in testing area. For light switch I need to do lean right jump. Switches for side elevator are too behind, so I skip this area. I also skip cistern, because there is no way to get out of there. For Mechanist I drop left and KO him midair. I can't climb ladder to tower, so again I use flare elevatoring. On top of tower you need to look a bit down to trigger "down" switch of elevator and you can easily descend ladder.

4th tower is one with elevator guarded by combat bot. It's easy to get behind it and disable it. Elevator switches can be frobbed from behind of panel. On top of tower you need to do lean right jump on switches to frob "down" switch. When returning I tried to use metal beams path and I noticed that jumping on long vine closer to arrow can still turn you, so for rope arrow exploit it doesn't matter how long vine/rope is, what matters is how close to the top of it you jump.

5th tower is in computer room. Only south lever is hard. For that you need to disable SW bot and mantle on SW computer. From bot on the right side hide on computer's left edge. Move forward and when bot will go north drop on lamp, press lever and move backwards to shadow. On top of tower you need to once again do lean right jump for "down" switch of elevator.

6th tower is room with traps. Elevator switches are too much on left side and there is no single bot anywhere nearby, so instead I stack scouting orb, 3 potions and one part and then do lean left jump to quickly press "up" switch. It takes couple jumps to drop from stack and switch is highlighted for very short amount of time. After riding up I noticed that every item except part rode up with elevator and is stuck under it.

7th tower is in production room. Again I need to use body part to do lean left jump to press "up" switch, but bot part is too big, so I need to clip it into elevator, so it will be easy to jump on. I can't use bridge switch, because it's too behind and I found something interesting. By going towards switch from left side, leaning right and then strafing left I can change my direction of looking. At first I thought it's 2nd turning exploit, but no. It only changes lean view. After cancelling lean view returns back to normal, so it's not very useful trick.

    ESCAPE

I can't use bridge switch, so I'm forced to return to traps room. Since I didn't destroy bots I need to sneak through this place the intended way. First move forward right through metal slope and go to conveyor belt. You can't jump on it from the side, because movement of conveyor belt cancels your speed. So you can only do backwards jump. Since there is fire you need to drop on left side. You can't lean climb on conveyor belt past fire, because it's movement somehow make it impossible. Go to NW corner and do backwards right jump on conveyor belt when fire is about to vanish, then go backwards and jump backwards to avoid damage. Drop on left side of end of conveyor belt and blindly time bot going south to also go south, but not to it's patrol route. When it will go north go left and backwards to leave this area, then go along right wall to avoid triggering watchers. You don't need any extra combat bot to deal with. When leaving I also said farewell to Karras and went to exit from Soulforge.

    FINAL NOTES

Couple of things. First of all, I noted 0 busts - this is for run allowing rope arrow exploit. I noted already 6 busts towards no rope exploit run in 5 missions. In 3 of them I turned myself back to original direction, so I don't plan to repeat them for no rope arrow exploit run. This means that I only need to redo 2 missions that I turned right at the beginning and didn't turn back - Framed and Ambush. I said at the beginning that I'm going to do no turning run later, but since it's only 2 missions I can do them now. Who knows maybe with new knowledge I will manage to avoid busts.

Second it was really fun challenge. It was much better than in TG playthrough, probably because I limited usage of turning exploit to absolute minimum and also because missions don't have hundreds of monsters to fight against. I learned more about lean jumps, learned about lean climbs and also flare elevatoring, which is very powerful exploit and I'm going to use it as absolutely last resort. Also challenge was interesting, because game prefers to use basic directions (N, E, W, S) and they are harder than diagonal (NE, SE, NW, SW) and more fun to figure out.

And lastly 32 hours. That's a new record by almost 4 hours. Previous record holded backwards challenge for TG (28:16:40). And to think 25% of this time is just inactive waiting for bank's vault to unlock in my favorite mission. That's really devastating, but at least I confirmed that this easter egg works.

    NO ROPE ARROW EXPLOIT RUN

For the last 2 missions to play I'm going to avoid using rope arrow exploit. In case I'm going to be forced to turn I will do it manually and then turn manually back. Flare elevatoring is allowed, but I'm going to use it as absolutely last resort.

    MISSION 3 - FRAMED

    I'm looking W

It's possible to frob sewer door by doing leaning right jump when being step away from it. After couple of jumps you will need to get closer. Opening door with lockpicks is really tedious, but doable. In cave I can use north passage, get behind torch switch and jump while looking a bit down. Torch will be highlighten for very short time, so frob it quickly. You can't progress to 1st floor, because metal door is too behind you. You can picklock left door with lean left jump while being step away from door. I also noticed that there is a way to guarantee picklock every time you jump - hold "use lockpick" and then do lean jump and repeat. From counter you can do backwards jump on panels to open portcullis and get 3 flares. Using north passage you can easily get to 1st floor and then do overhead slash to open wooden door behind you. After opening door move forward, because it opens towards you.

Let patroller open 2 doors. In canteen slash door to courtyard, then you can jump backwards into dumbweiter to get to 2nd floor. Normal entrance door to 3rd floor is too behind. Hagen's office door is also too behind, but you can do overhead swing when patroller is away. From Truart's office you can use secret passage to training room. Nearby storage you can open with lean jump. To get glasses from interrogations area first you need to open door with lean jump and for door to small room just lean forward to frob it. To get to east side I can't do overhead swing on east door at courtyard, because it's too loud and fails ghost objective. Instead you can go to south entrance, moss floor under east double door (behind you) and then lean jump to open other side of door. Don't stay too close to door, because it will not open also move forward, because it opens towards you.

SE storage requires overhead swing and barracks - lean jump.In main office you can't use secret lever to archives, because lever is too behind you. For shooting range you need to moss floor and do lean jump. Next do lean jump to quickly frob small gate. Mantle on target and drop on it's east edge to frob secret switch. Also use healing potion to block secret wall from rising, then lean jump to get stuff from shelf. Basement door require mossing floor and then lean jump with backing off left. For morgue you do another lean jump. To get to archives you need to use normal entrance. For that you need to nudge archer SE towards torch, then moss floor and do lean jump with backing off left. 2nd door requires lean jump and book switch can be frobbed from far away. This way you will return to main office.

Time to go to vault. Go behind cop and dodge her on the end of her patrol route. Douse also both gas torches. When she's away do overhead swing to open door, book switch can be frobbed from NE corner. You can't climb ladder, you need to do 3 crates stack instead. I took crates from training room and storage near it. Next crouch backwards to get to 3rd floor. Douse every gas torch and wait near door for cop to open it. Next door you will be able to slash. You can crouch right into entrance room to douse gas torch and open door to 2nd floor.

The biggest problem is putting code to open vault. You can mantle on reader and go on it's east side. While crouching you have very short time to press "4". It's really hard to do. "0" requires you to just crouch and "2" - just jump. But the biggest problem is final number "6". You can jump, but it will be highlighten for extremely short time. I tried many times and I couldn't do it. So east from switches I made stack of 2 crates and potion and finally I was able to highlight "6" without any problems. For key door you need to moss floor and do lean jump with backing off, for metal box - lean and for loot on right shelf - lean jump. In reception I'm unable to use secret switch.

    MISSION 4 - AMBUSH!

    I'm looking S

Escape from starting point is troublesome. I don't have any flares for flare elevatoring, I have 1 scouting orb, but in this mission they aren't solid, so I can't use it for stacking, there is also piece of paper in pub, but that's not enough. And of course I have crate. Not enough. I almost gave up, but in the last moment I remembered that in Soulforge I used body for stack. So to get on high wall I did stack of 2 bodies and placed crate on top. This way I was able to mantle on it and do lean climb.

Drop SW. House requires overhead swing. Sewer hatch leads to big purse. West shop requires slashing and backing off right. I got spotted by pair of patrollers and barely managed to escape. To get to Garrett's house instead of using rope arrow I make 2 crates stack and lean climb to window. In apartment you must slash door (lean climb doesn't work) and then do overhead swing on closet door and move left to avoid door. Crouch and look up to frob hook, key is behind you, but you can take it by jumping while looking down. Unfortunately you can't get anything else and cops in front of Garrett's house are after you. Since closet door blocks exit you can drop to street through window.

Cops can see through wooden double door in east part of city. Exit gate is another problem. It's too much on the right and lean jump doesn't work. So again I did stack of 2 bodies (to put 2nd body and 1st it's easier to throw it instead of dropping) and I put crate on top of it (from place near big purse in canal near marketplace. Lastly I do lean jump to unlock gate and go through it.

And since this playthrough is the longest let's check how total stats have been affected.

    FINAL NOTES

It was great to check old runs to find out there are ways to avoid turning. Before this run I would never consider stacking bodies. It was also fun to experience again alarm in Angelwatch. But the most fun and hectic was definitely getting out of starting point in Blackmail. Memories. This playthrough is over, but challenge isn't over yet. There will be playthroughs of me trying to beat this game only in one direction. Since there is 8 directions of looking there will be 8 playthroughs. But they will start on later date.

    LOOKING NORTH CHALLENGE

It's time to start looking north challenge. This means that at the beginning of every mission I will take time to allign myself to look exactly north. The hardest mission for that will be Trace the Courier where you need to follow Mosely, so I will need to quickly allign myself before she will go away and make me fail the mission Rope exploit is forbidden. If I turn accidentally by using ropes I'm just going to allign myself back to north afterwards. I didn't have chance to look north in Thief 2 yet, so it will be full run of 15 missions.

    MISSION 1 - RUNNING INTERFERENCE

    I'm looking N

Can't enter basement as door is too much on left, so I go to garden around guards and KO them from behind while looking down, then enter 1st floor, go behind archer and KO him. West door to 2nd floor is too behind and made from metal, so no bashing to open it. The same goes with doors to basement on both sides of 1st floor. In dining room you can strafe run to KO guard. On east side you can open doors from far away. Inside one of rooms you need to crouch and look up to frob high goblet. On east side of 2nd floor you need to bash door for loot. Wedding rings are too much on the left and coins on small shelf above stairs to basement can be grabbed from below through shelf.

You can only enter basement through foyer. Let servant open left door and KO him. One note to say - there is a lot of diagonal doors, so it's easy to open them. To get 3 bottles from wine cellar you need to push barrel away, then put crate in front of south part of rack. From it lean right and move right to get 3 bottles while looking down. Speed potion is too low. Quickly KO surprised guard from post.

Next problem is east archer looking in your direction. Go to shadow near barrels, shoot broadhead arrow into wall and wait. Archer will enter nearby room, so run to workshop. Wait for him to calm down and then KO him. For armory secret switch just crouch and lean right under shelf. As for items flashbomb is easy to frob, healing potion requires lean jump on top shelf and moving right and flare needs to lean right and very quick frob while realeasing lean button (it's good to disable auto equip to not accidentally use it). Purse is too much on right.

In guards in post are also problematic. You can't douse torch without being seen and you can't dodge sword woman, because she's too close to wall near south door and if you are too close to her archer will see you. So you need to quickly KO archer and run to barracks, drop flashbomb and go around guard to KO her.Butler's and housemaid's doors plus storage door is too behind. I will manage to get to butler thanks to Basso later, but first I need to return to starting point. The only way is through garden and gate is too behind, so I need to make 4 crates stack to jump over it. Thanks to Basso I enter butler's room and get access to basement and 1st floor. I found interesting that escape objective is reversible.

Time to complete loot objective and for that I need to enter 2nd floor on west side of mansion. Metal door is too behind, but it's possible to alert patroller on the other side by looking down. The noise will be quiet in corridor, but it will be loud on the other side and will lure guard to open door. Here I noticed that if I use overhead swing while looking down or blackjack while looking up noise will happen in corridor and not on the other side. So to alert someone on the other side I need to attack center part of door (at least in this case). Also something that I forgot to mention in Mage Twers run - you can eavesdrop to door behind by leaning to the side while near door, though it doesn't always work.

So to open this door just keep hitting it with blackjack while looking down until door will open. Door opens towards guard. Then you use flashbomb and KO him while looking down. On 2nd floor you must bash another door to complete loot objective. South part of carpet in foyer counts as outside, so you don't need to leave mansion in order to escape.

    STATS:

    Time: 1:05:13; Loot: 1030/1285

Damage Dealt: 14; Damage Taken: 0; Healing Taken: 0

MISSION 2 - SHIPPING... AND RECEIVING

    I'm looking N

To get out from starting point do right jump and then back jump. In Building A step on stairs to activate patroller. Same thing I will do later in Building B to activate guard. In NE part of outside area after conversation Hammerite opens door and walks in place, so I KO him and wait in doorway for noble to run towards me to KO him too. In Kilgor to get to chest mantle on north wooden fence and do back jump to other fence, then lean climb on metal shelf and go to crates, next run forward right on another crate and jump right to secret chest. Take crate with you and ride to 2nd floor. Go outside and jump over right railing. From NE corner of ledge drop on crates and drop into crate with statuette. To get out mantle on tiny part of crate near wall (don't stand too close to it), then you need crate and lean climb from it.

Next target is getting to main office on 2nd floor of Building A. Door to 2nd floor is too behind and bshing it alerts stationary archer on the other side. Instead go west and put crate to lean climb on crate to get to ladder and metal ledge. You need to wait for archer and KO him while he's surprised. Use another ladder to get on roof. KO all patrollers and bash left door to alert noble. Wait for him to leave room and quickly KO him. From door you can jump on wall to get to purple box. Bash right door and jump while looking down to get key from control room. Sadly it's pretty useless. Sheds can be opened with lean jump, east one can be frobbed from south corner. But the problem control panels are on south, east and west sides. It means you can't use them. I tried to frob switches through gaps between wooden planks sheds roofs, but I failed. This means it's impossible to open Bram's and Gilver's hangars. I restarted mission to check if lured guards can open orange doors to these hangars, but sadly they can't. I will deal with these hangars later.

In Building B watcher switch requires lean jump on it and then extra jump to frob it. Doors and bookshelf must be bashed. I KO-ed woman during outside conversation and servant just walked away like nothing happened. I went back to west ledge of Building A for rope arrow secret. On ship you can open spider crate from above. Captain's door is too left and lean jump doesn't work. Door is made out of wood, but unfortunately bashing doesn't open it. Under deck jump over table and lean left to frob bottle.

In Building B I noticed that sometimes even long rope can slightly turn me, so I need to reallign myself afterwards. On 2nd floor you can lean jump to open doors to roof. Now 4 levers room. For side levers you can simply lean jump from crate. Middle levers are harder. Put crate between levers, but not too close to wall. From crate go behind to hug wall and then lean jump towards lever and quickly frob it. It's easy to frob crate instead.of lever.

On 1st floor west crate requires lean climb on it, then slide on left edge of lock, so you will manage to lean right to open crate. If you fall while crate is opened it will be impossible to lean climb on crate. Take spice. To get out - mantle on lid of crate and jump left. To escape from NE crate you need to do back left jump from it. For SE chest you need to have crate to climb stack made out of 4 crates and 2 potions. This way you can climb to rope arrow chest and complete spice objective.

Time for main objective. To get to Bram's and Gilver's hangars I need to turn to use control panel (bust #1-2). In Gilver's hangar label is too left (bust #3). On 2nd floor plates on shelf are too behind. I can only get 2 chests, but I need 2 crates. 1st crate is used to lean climb on high crate, then wlk right and behind to get to 1st chest. Drop left to 2nd chest. To get out you need to lean climb from 2nd crate and then jump left and right. At this point I only got 710 loot and according to my loot list it's all loot I can get without busting this run even more. I need 140 loot more. Lord Porter hangar has 205 loot, but I know that statuette behind painting requires shooting it and painting is too left. So I opted for captain Davidson's quarter, which has 195 loot (bust #4).

    STATS:

    Time: 2:12:44; Loot: 905/1655
Pockets Picked: 8/18; Locks Picked: 4
Back Stabs: 0; Knock Outs: 33
Damage Dealt: 43; Damage Taken: 0; Healing Taken: 0

Iron Beasts Destroyed: 0; Disabled: 0
    Bodies Discovered by Enemies: 1

    MISSION 3 - FRAMED

    I'm looking N

I'm getting better at alligning myself to north. Lean climb for water arrows in trashcan. In east part of basement prison is too behind. I can picklock door with lean jump and then move left, so door will open. However to to 1st floor is too behind and I can't bash it, because of archer guarding archives. West side of basement has statuette in water that I must skip, because it's not possible to get out of water. To get to 1st floor I need to lean jump and move left for door to open.

Go behind patroller to let him open doors. Here I do a lot of lean jumping to open doors. Double doors at south entrance are easy to frob when standing in front of south part of door. Healing potion in locker is tricky. You need to lean right and jump to take it, but then you get stuck inside. To get unstuck release lean button and keep jumping. When you get ability to frob locker's door do it. Closing this door will move you left until you will get out. For training room upper lever you need crate and from it lean jump towards lever and quickly frob it.

On 2nd floor in Truart's room you need to frob statue to close secret passage, then go to corner, mantle on statue, back off and lean left for vase on fireplace. Next do back left jump on fireplace for plate. To get to corridor you need to picklock door while lean jumping and then move left, because door opens towards you. Mosely and Hagen's rooms are at the middle of corridor and there is no carpet nearby, so I decided to lean jump to picklock them while standing on healing potion. I got stuck on Mosely's door, which made picklocking door easy, but after door opening I fell on wooden floor instead of potion. Hagen's door allowed me to keep leaning after jumping, so it was a bit easier to picklock it. For other offices you can lean jump from carpet.

Time to get to archives, so I bring 4 crates to main office. First do 3 crates stack south from upper vent, so you will manage to lean jump and frob lever through bronze pillar. Release lean and jump in place to return on stack. Move it north and add 4th crate to jump on ledge and crouch into vent. From ladder you need to jump left and go to archives. Then I go to 3rd floor via secret passage. Lever inside it requires to lean jump right and jump once more to frob it.

Time to escape, so enter reception while walking behind patroller. Secret switch is too low. I can't bash left door, because there is too many patrollers, so instead I need to lean jump from healing potion. This door was hard to frob. I opted to leaning towards it and then jumping. After frob I needed to release lean button and move right. Door stops on healing potion, so take it and quickly open door. Lastly is double door, but it can't be easily frobbed like other double doors, so you need to lean jump for it.

    MISSION 4 - AMBUSH!

    I'm looking N

Just like in original run to get out from starting point I need to make stack out of 2 bodies and crate and lean climb. In NW part of city I smashed shop's door. As a result guard went into search mode, but archer sticking to him didn't. Still both were more sensitive later and it was much harder to KO them. I entered Garrett's appartment via window. You can get all side equipment except noisemaker arrow from far away. The problem though is to get out. You need to alert cops to make them enter building and jumping in front of window doesn't lure them inside. So I tried to close closet by lean jumping and this brought cops to me. So I only needed to do tricky back jump while standing into window and drop down.

Escape gate is too left. Luckily I don't need to make stack for that. You can rope up on south part of roof of east building (on center on the left side) and then strafe right to fight slippery roof and get on north roof, which is flat. Then just move left and mission will end.
