NewDark Dromed not Saving COW or MIS

    Hi Everyone
I finally got DromEd working so that it opens my missions for editing via FMSel. Everything works well, except that when I make changes and click on SAVE, nothing happens. Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone know of a solution?

How did you install it? There seem to be lots of ways so it's easy to imagine a file going missing.

Make sure you have the file "menus.cfg" in your Dromed folder.
Also try using the command box (lower right of the window) to run the command save_cow or save_mission and see what happens.

Rubber Soul! Hey, hey, hey - Happy to see you here.

    I installed it using T2fix 1.27e over a fresh install of Thief2.

I do have menus.cfg. These are the lines for saving files.
    menu_file_1 &Open...:load_file | Save &Cow...:run DoSaveCow.cmd
    menu_file_2 |Save &Gamesys...:run DoSaveGam.cmd|Save &Mission...:run DoSaveMis.cmd|mru_files:&Recent Files|sep

The dialogues for saving cow and mis files come up when I type the commands into the command box, but when I open the file again, no changes were actually saved.

Your suggestions gave me the idea to look into my Cmds folder where I found only 16 commands stored. DoSaveCow.cmd and DoSaveMis are not there, among many others. Might that be the problem? I think I'll test that theory and get back to you.

Okay. Adding the commands didn't help with choosing Save Cow or Mis from the file menu. But I was able to save files through the command box.

Scratching my head here. Might I just have a busted DromEd?

Your menus.cfg file looks like it's from the Dromed Toolkit (T2fix may have included that by default), but as far as I know it's the Dromed Basic Toolkit which puts them in the CMDs folder to tidy them up.*

I suggest downloading the latter from here and installing over whatever you already have in your T2 folder:
    https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141708

Note that it says in the instructions that after extracting, go to the subfolder Tools\Thief2 Newdark Dromed and copy its contents into your main T2 folder, but it's not clear why that's necessary. I didn't do that and have not had any problems.

*some further info: if menus.cfg file just says "run something.cmd", Dromed will look for Thief2\something.cmd. Dromed Basic uses a different set of .cmd files which are put the Cmds folder, and itw own menus.cfg will have some commands like "run .\cmds\something.cmd".

Downloaded and installed. Hoping to find time to test it later today.

Well, the timing didn't work out for me. RL running interference. Finally fired up DromEd through fmsel, and it's working the way it should now. Thank you!
