I just saw him post this on his Facebook page. Really cool. I was just saying in another post, who needs T5? What we could use is a remake of the original, and this is kind of fodder for how cool that could be.

A remake of Thief: The Dark Project probably makes most sense commercially right now. It's great to see the OG master doing something so fateful to the old style but clearly modernized. I really think a remake would work under the right hands. The videogame industry is so broad now that if it's well made it will find it's consumers. Problem is "merely" economical and of dedicated devs not fucked with by upper management.

Great vid, but Garret is a bit sloppy on this one. Anyway, if it was possible to remake System Shock, why not Thief?
Anything is possible, you just need the willingness and the money to do it. And Night Dive has said they expect to take a loss on System Shock, so I don't see many other rights holders caring to go the same route.
So that makes me wonder whether Night Dive expected right at the start to lose money on System Shock or they realised it later.

I don't think they ever expected for it to take 8 years (with all the associated costs). But that's how it tends to be with game development -- everything takes way longer than you expect and you never have time to finish everything that you want.
I loved it, as if it was a real trailer for Thief The Dark Project. Both Victoria and Garrett were portrayed extraordinally well.
Well to counter criticism, even in the original trailers Garrett kill - this is canonically.

This is extremely good. OG creator doing this is phenomenal. I love it so much!! I had to watch it three times.
