You can sort of project them outward a bit when dropping. But I guess you could also stack a few crates and jump over the killing area that the statues can see.
RippedPhreak: please remove my name from the credits of this mission.
I oppose the use of AI technology to replace the work of voice actors and refuse to be associated with it.
i provided a number of scripts and significant technical consulting on this mission, but was not made aware that it would be using AI-generated voicework. if i had known, i would have raised my objections earlier. in future, i will be asking fm authors about this before providing any technical assistance. in short: if you want to use AI-generated artwork or voicework in your missions, then you can go ask Bing to write scripts for you and help you with dromed instead.
we have many people here in this community who enjoy doing voicework for fan missions. we have excellent artists and writers. get them involved in your mission and strengthen this community instead of using computerised plagiarism.

Edit: if you wish to discuss the use of AI generation and the ethics thereof, please go to this other thread: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthre...06#post2505306 — and keep this thread about RippedPhreak's mission.

A resident of that place proved to be helpful for me there. I had to persuade him to stay calm with the help of my blackjack, though. How he does get out afterwards is not my concern anymore after they tried to kill me.
RippedPhreak, that was - IMHO - a large and well built mission. A few spots (e.g., the archmage's rooms with the moaning "guard" who tended to stop moving inside doorways) required some creative thinking, but not too much. On easiest difficulty (the only one I played so far), the loot requirement was reasonable, at least for a somewhat experienced player. (I just don't remember how much of the loot was easily accessible and how much was not - I got more than 6,000 and needed just 2,800.) Although the mission area was very large, the various good-looking places made the trip interesting even if not much was to be done in some places. The mages' area might have had too many opponents, but the other locations were not that overpopulated.
I'm quite sure I will play the mission again sometime in the future.![]()

The voice acting thing is tough. I respect anyone's opinion on this, but it's very hard to have people commit to all the lines, just so you can have a short conversation with a voice that doesn't suddenly change after the conversation. With a few lines made from the original voices you have continuity. For me at me at least, it breaks the immersion on other FMs when someone is like tight scraggly voice, then it goes back to benny when you're caught by the AI.
For continuity, if someone's willing to commit to the rest of the pain sounds and idles, of enough lines to not hear the same line over and over (hammer imperium), that would be great, otherwise AI could be a solution.
The concern vfig has raised with regard to AI use in fan missions is valid but I also expect this issue will become more common over the coming years. Has there been a discussion either in the Editors Guild or over at Discord in which authors, voice actors and others who offer technical help have discussed the pros and cons of using AI, hopefully leading to some sort of common consensus or even a set of agreed rules?
I would be interested in following any such debate but with my lack of knowledge of the subject and not being involved in the making of FMs I couldn’t see myself participating in such a debate, that should be left to those who are most directly affected by the development of AI now and in the future.
Congratulations on the release Ripped Phreak! Looking forward to playing this tonight.![]()
I have Amethyst and Emerald powerstones. Where can I find the last one?
Hidden somewhere in that Lost City temple near the beginning.
So far this has been a really great mission. I am stuck right now but I'm looking through all of the posts before I ask any questions.
I shot the fire beast twice with the water talisman, and it fled to the large building with the balcony in front. At least it won't try to attack me again.![]()
Previous discussion (on TTLG) about AI generated content is here. I'm very interested in discussing the ethical ramifications of the issue, since I'm usually very case to case in my opinions on the matter.

Ripped, I sent you a DM on Discord regarding a small pathfinding issue for the skeletons. Just in case you don't check them often I'm letting you know here as well![]()
okay, please keep discussion of AI generated stuff in general to the thread Kubrick linked immediately above.
i posted my view here because it specifically related to this mission and my contribution to it; but lets not derail this thread any further.
Kubrick, I did not get the PM. Might as well send it to me here.
Check around a painting.
Those buttons are tiny. Thanks.
Great mission. Only got stuck about the priest guarding the lock that was hidden in the light. Had fun using the 2 talismans.
I placed one runestone in the centre of the room, then rotated the statue as far as I could without hurting myself. Teleporting placed me on the other side of the statue's line of sight.
Experimenting with the statues, I discovered that they harm NPCs as well. Turn a statue to aim its gaze through the chamber doorway for fun and profit.
I have so far the purple portal stone and the water and fire talisman. Visited the crypt, the mage area and the pyramid like area. I am not sure how I access the keeper area.
If you can't find the place: the precursor building to the left of the starting area has two entrances. At the east entrance to the building, there's a bridge over lava. Standing on the bridge, look north -- you'll see some cliffs and a tunnel. You'll have to do some climbing to reach the tunnel.
If you've already found it, but can't get in: the watchtower to the east of the gate has an open window you can climb through. To get up there, look for a cliff near the eastern end of the fortress wall.

Seems I've gotten stuck where downwinder and a few others have already, I can't find the key to the fancy lock behind glass in the library.
I've been over to the blue tower and down to the lava prisons therein, but can't find anything helpful.
there's also the guard tower's top floor cooling station I can see but not reach. Hints?
