I was watching 'The Brothers Sun' on netflix and spotted this in the very first episode.
I thought this place might appreciate the sound design choice here.
(Cool fights but I thought the show itself was meh though)
Okay, there wasn't a 2024 thread yet and I'm not likely to post much here but I WILL click everything YOU post and I have one to lead off and though it is actually from 2022 it is funny and I haven't seen it posted in one of these so... you can be anything you want to be and I want to not post this in the 2023 one apparently.

I was wondering where to post this. Now I know. Thank you, Tocky.
That was aired like 15 minutes ago, so you couldn't have been wondering for long. XD
Okay, I guess it's been an hour now, but you must have posted it right after it aired.
I dig Nolan, so it's been fun to watch this interview.

Indeed. My wondering was near instantaneous.
And it wasn't the highbrow humour that tickled my fancy. It was the tip of the hat to Benny Hill.
Speaking of near instantaneous nuclear disasters, today I was mesmerized by this guy recreating the Chernobyl disaster in an RMBK nuclear power plant simulator. What's amazing to me is how finicky it is, and how much work he has to go to to create the exact conditions that would cause the meltdown. A few percent in any direction for the key parameters and the accident couldn't have happened. That's cosmically bad luck!
Now this is an interview by Tucker with a Dark Lord that I can get behind.
Am I alone who sometimes imagining that my bed (with me on it) is levitating in the middle of the room? That imagination usually crossed my mind before falling asleep, in complete darkness. I dont know is 'imagination' a right word, it' s a rather a feeling. Turns out this discovery about insect's space orientation instincts might shed some light on my case.
Or I am just a weirdo who had the temerity to read too much Harry Potter as a child...
Corridor Crew does yet another breakdown of a James Cameron FX shot. This time, it's the wet willy from The Abyss.
I don't think I'll ever stop being a fanboy of these old pioneering ILM projects that were on the bleeding edge of what was possible at the time, it was such a confluence of some of the most awe-inspiring visual nerdery at the time. They even did laser scans for people's faces back in 1989.
this is insane, it's like all my 80's guitar dreams come true. Jason Becker was a huge influence on me as a guitar player.
Everything OK over there in the UK?

This is something that happened in Birmingham a year ago. Any particular reason why you are worried about it a year later?
Jut saw it on Twitter. So Birmingham is probably even worse now, a year later.
Or perhaps better. Or perhaps the same. Or perhaps better in some ways, the same in other ways and worse some other ways.
Why? Is everything OK over there in Murika?
No, as I've stated before America is in a post-Imperial collapse. This is not news. What's new is that the UK looks to be collapsing as well.
Yeah. We noticed, since you seem determined to turn every thread in Com Chat, even the most benign, into a soapbox for your crypto-Trumpian propaganda.
Really. Notice taken.
You remember when all this racist fearmongering over non-Anglo-Saxon immigrants came true last century and the US collapsed? Yeah, me neither. A country will not collapse just because a bunch of young people get rowdy, are arrested, and have to do community service or whatever.
Is something wrong in Birmingham? Yeah, right wing nuts are cherry picking videos to blast the message that non-white folks aren't welcome because of a few non-white hooligans while conveniently ignoring videos that show bad behavior by white hooligans. That's what's wrong.
If you're really worried about the future of a country, the place to look is public education. Developing countries have poorer education systems because they're expensive, so I think it's reasonable to invest extra in public education particularly in minority and immigrant areas. But I think public education has been slipping across the board, especially among poor whites, and especially in civics and social studies. The state is failing both sides of that coin.
Then every couple of generations gets this fascist hysteria that minorities and immigrants are going to collapse society; the fear mongers go way overboard and commit massive human rights violations and set the country back by years of lost development, if not drag us into outright conflict; then when the smoke clears everybody understands how monumentally wrong they were from the beginning, as easily predicted, and we have start redeveloping our country from the pit of their fail years.
It happens over and over. Blaming immigrants is the first stage of fascist idiocy. We know the playbook. We've seen it so many times. It should be shut down right at the start.
Yep. Generational Amnesia. The financial sector is also prone to the recurring fresh idea that massive amounts of money can be made with little effort and even less value created.
And now, a pallet cleanser;
The creator's delightful, deadpan delivery, never teeters or loses hope, weaving from how-to, to pop culture, through self-deprecation, grief and whimsy.
As much as I love MLRS and 155mm precision guided artillery, I wasn't aware there are toy versions of these things
i can't imagine how scared the ants on the ground would be when they would be bombarded with this
i hope there is a toy version for warships with the 'toy version' of norwegian NSM/exocet/harpoon/rbs-15 missile
wait, Can we make a toy version of the vls launcher? hehehe

This is a joke although it does make me excited about the possibilities of entire songs with only one note. I do hear a few errant harmonies desperately trying to break through. Maybe that could be the release.
Oh what might've been...
