    Thief book nook

I've been a fan of Thief since the release of Thief II: The Metal Age. A few years ago I played the first two games again and soon understood that I wanted more. And then I discovered the world of fan missions. I was impressed by the devotion of this little community to making new adventures in my favorite game universe and since then I've wanted to join the ranks of creators. I knew, however, it wasn't an easy job to make a good mission, so I kept thinking of a way to pay homage to the original game series and express my gratitude to the fan community alike.

Some weeks ago an idea crossed my mind: why haven't I seen a Thief book nook yet? I hadn't made any such a thing before but the idea of putting a piece of my favorite game on a bookshelf seemed too tempting. And now I'm happy to share some photos of my Thief book nook that I've just finished making. I spent many hours happily exploring the narrow streets of the city in countless fan missions and I hope I've been able to capture that atmosphere.

P.S. I haven't figured out the way to add images to my post. I read the F.A.Q. but was unable to find 'Manage Attachments' button and my links don't seem to be working with the 'insert image' button. If anyone knows how I can fix this, please tell me and I'll edit this post. So far I can only share the links below

Wow, great job! How did you make it?

I would love something like that for my library!

Thank you! I mainly used cardboard, XPS foam and wooden sticks to make the buildings and then added little details like the lamp post made of cotton swab stick, plastic and paper with an LED inside.

Thank you for your feedback. I was thinking of adding a guard's shadow somehow or maybe dropping a little hint about Garrett's whereabouts, but I couldn't think of a good way to add those. I guess I'll come up with a workable solution next time.

I LOVE IT! I'm quite impressed with the atmosphere and feel of it, very well done! Do you use batteries or plug in?

my idea would be make one of the windows in display a shadow box, and have it cast a shadow into the street

    Thanks a lot!

There are two AAA batteries in the back. I used resistors to limit the current but I'd chosen them in a very intuitive way. The lights aren't bright enough; their effect is barely visible in daylight.

They look great! I'll need to work on my painting skills a lot if I want to use such small things

That's a great idea! I'll carry out some experiments to figure out the best setup. I think I'll need a powerful light for that effect. I was hoping the stained glass windows would leave brightly colored spots on the ground, but the lights are only powerful enough to produce background lighting. The effect was visible when I had a desk lamp behind the windows. Once I put everything together the colored spots disappeared

This one is a decent job! I like tiny architecture details here and there.

    I appreciate your feedback, ViiRaptor!

I've seen the figures you made. They're beyond awesome in every aspect! I wonder if I can achieve the same level of craftsmanship one day)
