The two people with Walstrand in the bathhouse were Proyas and a hammerite loyal to him. I was able to knock him out after throwing a flashbomb.

And how do I get the wand thingy that's spinning on the plinth without getting killed to death?

I got the wand thingy thanks to the hint from this thread but that's about it, I'm still just running round and round and round back and forth not getting anywhere.

No idea where to find the holy symbol and the fountain doesn't work despite having activated it from the rafters and made the light go green

I assume you go into the room with the blue flame but no idea how to get there.

Did you leave the hammer in the pool, then turn on the water? Try picking it up and dropping it in again.

The blue flame works for blessing too...check the coffins to the west.

Could I have a more specific hint for this switch? I'm assuming the "inn" is the same as the pub?

    Progressive hints:
    1. The switch is in the supply/storage room on the ground floor.
    2. Don't bother with the bottles.
    3. The switch is one that you've also seen used in an FM in Black Parade.
    4. The switch is a relatively light-colored element of the room, so it's a bit hard to spot that it's frobbable.

    Solution:
The barrel spigot furthest from the room entrance, on your left.

I finished this yesterday. Great mission, I liked the theme, the layout of the map, the architecture (really beuatiful in some places), and the difficulty and puzzle difficulty were about right as well.

One thing I noticed though: The friendly A.I. on the streets was pretty odd. They didn't recognize you as a threat, until you came up onto them from behind with a blackjack, and, in the moment you want to blackjack them, they turn around and immediately attack you, as if they have eyes on the backhead.

Is that wanted? Seems pretty odd and like a bug to me.

This is how Thief AI works. If they have seen you recently, the guards will be aware of you. If you really want to KO a guard, make sure he has not seen you for several minutes.

Hmm... I never noticed that in other missions, but, Ok, good to know. Probably never noticed it, because there are so few missions with friendly AI.

Pretty odd behavior though, isn't it? I mean, why would they notice me sneaking up and blackjacking them? Maybe someone should tweak that behavior, if that's the standard behavior. Again, it's as if they have eyes on the back of their heads.

  17. #142
If you play a standard mission (where all AIs are hostile from the start), allow an AI to see you and chase you (reaching level 3 alert status).

Hide for a minute or so until he gives up, and then try to follow him through a lit area and KO the guard. He will whirl around and attack right away. This is just how Thief is and always has been. The AI will stay at a higher alert level for quite some time, until you hear him eventually say "must've been rats" or some other comment that indicates a return to level 0 alert. That comment is your cue that you can try the KO again.

Maybe someone should tweak that behavior
It has been tried but in the end we're still dealing with a 1998-era game, no matter how much we can improve the visual look of it.

i go in the assumption, that the the crown of sir alexuis is down in the crypt?

but how can i deactivate this curtain?

  19. #144
Honestly people should just read everything in the mission and it is explained. However: You cannot pass the curtain unless you are carrying a holy symbol that has been blessed in a pool of holy water (similar to the Murus tasks in Return to the Cathedral).

    True.

Regarding the crown: I think this is indeed well documented in the readables. There are multiple readables which explain this.

Only thing I had issues with was getting out of the tomb aread again... had to visit this thread to figure out that there is a pickable wall panel. It was the only thing which wasn't clear in the mission.

if you really want to KO an alert AI in the darkengine a flashbomb will help you accomplish your damage induced sleepytime for the AI's.

I have all the objectives finished so I am hunting for loot. But I do want to complete the bonus objective about getting evidence against that rascal, Proyas. I cannot seem to find it. I did knock him out and he is currently on the floor next to a toilet in the bathhouse. Any help would be much appreciated.

Littlek, look in his room - did you read the note/book that says Proyas has been housed outside the Hammer compound? You need to get into his temporary housing. It's the apratments to the far SW. You have to use a rope arrow to get up there. Search the top of the fireplace.
