    Kamala Harris for President

Well tRump has two threads, Biden has one and, now that Kamala Harris is the presumptive Democrat nominee, Harris needs her own thread and poll.

MAGAville, Florida (AKA The Villages), rolls out a golf-cart armada to welcome Kamala Harris and to usher DJT out of town.

I think (hope) she will squeak home. I think enough independents will be turned off by Trump's - let's be honest - seditious rhetoric, to tip the balance.

I think the elephant in the room that not enough people are talking about is Roe v. Wade. Wherever abortion rights have been in elections, they've, let's say, outperformed. Pro-choice Democrats facing anti-abortion Republicans in special elections have come in about 10 percent above polls, win or lose. Heck, in a deep-red county in Ohio a vocally pro-choice Republican won the nomination (for a House seat) and subsequent election. The polls aren't doing a good job of capturing the swell of pro-choice women registering and voting.

And into this environment, we have Donald Trump, so often his own worst enemy, vocally proclaiming every time there's a live mic nearby that HE HIMSELF got Roe v. Wade overturned.

Saint Trump will squeak by for the win because now he's holy.

I also think it is going to be one of the major issues, because this is something women have to deal with all over the country, even in conservative areas where they can't really speak out due to the cultural pressure. Republicans have by now realised how deeply unpopular the banning of abortion is, but cannot really pivot on this issue without incurring the wrath of the more radical half of the party, as evidenced by the backlash they get when they try to soften the language even just a little bit. It doesn't really help that the more radical wing of the party is going all out, aiming for contraception and IVF while they're at it, and the intent is made quite clear in project 2025.

I rather suspect that some people in deep red areas, are displaying public support for tRump to protect themselves from the threat of violence from MAGAts. MAGA sign on the lawn, blue vote in the polling booth. The crazies don't need to know the truth until it knocks out their two remaining teeth.

    Figuratively.

It's telegraphing a GOP plan to win without votes. To repeat the rehearsal insurrection; to certify fake electors and disrupt the transfer of power.

You're making your own, brand new non-trump thread be derailed by trump again. Isn't this thread supposed to be about cheering on for the... what's her name again? Ah yes - woman president.

The country where I grew up and live in, in my formative years had a woman president and people didn't seem to be too bothered by this as she served a 2nd term also, so perhaps my place has already had this dream come true and doesn't care anymore, so I can see how a megalomaniacal country that *hasn't* had this could be craving it, even if only they could at least [too convoluted?] confirm that wasn't the issue. It's like me going to the doctor to rule out the disease that concerned me.

It' ukrainian (oh, how much I can see a russian tells nodays how "russophobic" can be an ukranian game of 20 years ago - back in the days it was normal for russians too to consider the stalinist times bad, now the nazbols and prokhanovists call this "russophobia" - being the old guard of bolsceviks the real authentic russophobic - it's why the URSS anthem was originally The International and not some native russian song - and for the perfect sensed reasons we can see today in this new imperialistic phase)

Also, Russia ain't gonna do shit to y'all paranoid americans (leftism is associated with the prey mentality, so I kinda understand the concern even with having the overwhelmingly upper hand). Although it would be a fun sight if they went after 'murica like some Cold War movie. Unfortunately it don't work like that. They would go after their neighboring, american-controlled countries that threaten them as a result. Oh wait, that's already happening.

Thanks for the thread management advice. I moved the offending post.

How about you return to that other post where you are afraid to explain why you so gleefully support a treasonous, lying rapist. You know. Man up, own your words, rather than strawman and distract.

I'm really sorry for people like this, they don't understand they're DUPED into what they "think". Like redpills nutcases (redpill "antiwoke counter-culture" exists for that, to DUPE you).
Uh..., you're always free to give me your fallacious/fellatio (or whatever nicker's word for it was) opinion on it, but when I see grass, I say grass. When plowed grass smells like plowed grass I say "mmm hrbrhhrbrh good farts, grass!", not "ew godless bigot grass".

Anyway, it seems you're making me out to be the hippy of my time, which you may as well, but in that case, well, we were sure right about the vietnam war, not just music. Or if you want the scientific stuff... I mean there are "youtube doctors" talking about this stuff unchallenged, laying out all the proofs while being pretty much ignored because it's just not profitable/safe to agree with them (although health insurance companies are getting frustrated), but on a more personal level, haven't you talked with anyone outside of your bubble? I went to a random bar and talked with a random stranger and after a while of me not bringing anything up, be brought things up himself and expressed his regret upon falling for the pressure, some of his relatives already suffering the consequences, and fearing what may be happening with him soon. Many such cases. Could feel nothing but sympathy and heaviness in the soul.

Nicker, my favorite commchatter of late - maybe I should reply in the og thread indeed, but I just can't get enough of trump mmymrmarmhmrh

I understand why you are afraid to own your words. Any decent person would. I suppose that's a sign of hope for you.

The rambling, incoherent content of your last rant, however, suggest otherwise.

Nicker, you left out some important options from the poll. I'd like to go with "Foreseen consequences: Harris wins the election and Trump claims he won but his votes are still in the mail."

Can you name those countries, how exactly they're controlled by the US, and how they've ever threatened russia?

Finland, my country, has had to live next to an unpredictable bully that has tried invading us in the past. My grandfather was among those brave soldiers that defended us against the invading soviet army. We've had to get along with russia and their attempts to control us and influence our politics. We fostered trade relations with them, but when they attacked Ukraine, who in our shoes wouldn't have joined NATO? Especially after putin claiming in a phone call with our previous president Sauli Niinistö that Finland is in russia's sphere of influence, insinuating that we are not free to join NATO. And no, we're not controlled by the US in any way, and we've never threatened or even been a threat to russia. We want to exist, and do so peacefully, and will defend ourselves if attacked.

EDIT: Thor, I wasn't sure where you were coming from. To me it sounded like you were claiming russia's neighbors are a threat to russia, but upon reading your post a second time, you might instead mean that this is what russia is using as an excuse to attack.

A truly inspiring speech by Senator Raphael Warnock (with nary a mention of sharks or movie cannibals).

Let me know when anyone in the GOP learns to speak in paragraphs.

Biden and Harris broker a deal to release three actual political prisoners from Russia.

This despite tRump begging Putin to hold off until November.

I guess Vlad knows which way the electoral wind is blowing. tRump gets demoted from useful idiot to mere idiot.

This is one of the fundamental misunderstandings Lord Dampnut and his ilk have about international relations and diplomacy -- countries don't have friends, they have interests. He just assumed Putin was going to release the prisoners as a personal favour to him, just like he assumed he was going to get along with Kim Jong-Un, Xi Jinping, etc based on personal charisma, when all of these people clearly think he's a useful idiot at best. He even tried that with Mexico and Ukraine, calling their leaders to do favours for him, such as announcing the building of a wall or an investigation into his political opponent.

The Lincoln Project discusses the recent disastrous performance of Lord Dampnut:

  24. #24
The Lincoln Project are ridiculous clowns no one cares about. As for turning off black voters, Trump already knows they are not voting for him and never will (they always vote 90%+ Democrat every time).

Rick Wilson is a dipshit who would prefer a Chamber of Commerce conservative like Mitt Romney over Trump...well I have news for Wilson, Romney also got less than 10% of the black vote.

This appearance was only to show that Trump is not afraid to show up in front of a hostile audience with hostile interviewers and speak off the cuff with no teleprompter or pre-approved questions. I doubt Harris will ever do that.

The "president" is a "flavour", of course a state like USA is more than its president but that's not "deep state!!1111", that's just how a gigantic reality work: by inertia. For the better AND for the worst.
